“Going to court is a long process which might take longer than 1-2 years”
Man, that’s heaven for me 😂 in Italy it takes 6-7 years in average
Damn just how much money goes to just for that long process lol
Grande Naska, stai pensando di andare a Dubai?
😂😂😂😅
Whenever someone tells you stay away from 10000 things, you probably better off staying away from that country all together
You are right. That place is creepy.Uggggggggg!!!
Alberrto garcia gonzalez u gotta understand this video is specifically talking about restrictions and hes talking more on the safe side. Its not a creepy place cos if it was it wouldnt be on nearly everyones list to visit. Ive been 5 times its beautiful and its honestly not that strict the way he makes it out
You are wrong. Before you go anywhere you look at three things. The law, the culture and the price of regular items. Respect the culture and you’ll be fine
@@sosadagoat9243 Dubai is NOT on my list to visit. They lust after tourist money, they just don't want tourists.
itsyoureternalsoul ok thats just silly. Uae makes its money off tourism NOT oil or other resources. The country is literally built for tourist u idiot
I find the rules very catch 22. My friend went last year and was invited to a private underground club. She said all the Saudi men and women (dressed in abayas) were drinking alcohol. The women were dancing with barcadi breezers in their hands. You can't have sex unless you're married, yet they don't check marriage certifications for tourists who book rooms together - it's almost like, here are the rules but we are going giving you the opportunity to break them....and then face the punishment.
Thank you for sharing, this is so informative. My family will be relocating to Dubai in August and most of my questions and concerns has been answered by both of your videos.
Happy to help :-)

I go to to Dubai for holidays with my wife. We've been going for many years, and now take our young children. We all love it! It's such a fantastic place, and there are so many great things to do!
All people in Dubai are taught that they want foreign investment, and they want foreigners to visit so respect them. It's how the country will survive now they have sold their oil. So for that reason, they are very, very respectful and accommodating to other people and other cultures. A lot of the warnings given here are correct, but of course the extreme end. They are not hunting down Westerners to throw in jail.. on the contrary, they are massively tolerant and understanding of the fact our culture is totally different to theirs. Basically as long as you are not going out of your way to overtly break their rules, you'll be fine.
But with that tolerance, it is only fair to be respectful of their own beliefs, as we should be respectful of other peoples beliefs anyway. They really don't ask for that much from visitors. I'm sure people can restrain themselves from kissing in public for just a little while! And as for things like bouncing cheques, fighting in the streets while drunk or flipping the finger to people.. well if you do those things then quite frankly you deserve what's coming to you anyway.
Understand it's a muslim country, doing their best to be tolerant of different cultures. Respect the fact they are making a lot of allowances for you, and just meet them halfway and stick to the few red lines they have and you'll have an amazing time.
Thanks 🙏🏾!
Thanks for your content, Carl! Very helpful
Your second video I've enjoyed. Many thanks.
I'd love to see a video from you on how to set up a business in Dubai. The logistics, the process etc. :D (Subscribed btw)
Thank you! I could definitely look into making one, please allow me some time for this!
U are the best, such good advices and an eye opener
Thank you!
Subscribed! Your videos really helped me!
I was thinking of secret recording that moment you talked about it lol it's like you caught me !! thank you for the advices man !!! 😁
Note to self, behave yourself, use common sense, respect the laws and customs of others!!!
Nope, cracking down on people for normal behavior is not common sense.
These laws are not common sense.
And dont go there...
Unless you're gay... then what? Don't be yourself?
@@deanjamesy If you're gay be yourself but do it elsewhere! Vegas for example.
Nice 3 videos, last time in Dubai Jan 04,so much want to come back just dont know when.Good evening from Auckland.
I'm from Dubai and I want to clariy this .. not allowed doesn't means that u will be in " a lot of trouble " as he keep saying.. These are general roles only .. I'm surprised actually this is not the reality out there.. life is easy .. respect families ,children, other religions & nationalities that's it .
Okay. I like the sights and the architecture so far
The recording law sounds like they have a huge corruption problem. Yikes.
Nope, its just very prone to abuse. Corruption is not a thing in uae

This is very informative
Yes very informative- Interesting stuff. . . but people can figure these things out too when go to the embassy for visa can't they-? still really decent of you to share this from a personal experience because you are there so you already know about everything-
Sending love to you and wishing you all the very best ‼️
very useful video, thanks!
Very interesting!! Thank you 👍👍👍
Finally a video with good detailed information about Dubai. I appreciate your video Carl. However there are some thing that maybe are in contrast with your information. What is your opinion about some of the vlogs that Dubai's youtuber Mo Vlogs releases with his sister. Is there not any opennes in clothing there ? Or am I misunderstanding the information ?
Hello Avinash, thanks for your feedback! In these videos I try to inform /educate people about the law and 'if' for what ever reason someone complains about an issue they are aware of the reasons.
In the first part of the video, I mentioned 'what you see is not what you hear & vice versa'. The reason for this, something like clothing, you hear you need to be conservative all the time, however you will see people all the time out and about being relaxed.
This is kinda how Dubai / UAE works with people becoming more and more relaxed about certain rules.
The only thing you cannot do is go around naked! (That's the only thing which is a big no no!)
I'm looking at doing some outdoor construction work in Dubai as a rope access tech. would it be understandable or still rude of me to drink water (it will be hot work) while I'm still abseiling the buildings if it is Ramadan? I don't want to upset the people inside on the other side of windows or get in trouble
In Dubai you don't play "catch and kiss", you play "kiss and run from the police".
This is great !
Very great video and helpful information about Dubai and rights und laws. I have residence too in Dubai but its nice to hear all the regulation again in very clear and simple way to understand. Thank you so much, I hope you will make 1000 more videos about Dubai. I think its nice and important for people to know how they can get residence, Emirates ID and license and very interesting to show them how they find the goverment to apply for all step by step. And would be very great to show people who are living in Dubai how they can find really a relationship. There are videos and websites about this point, but I don`t believe they are serious. And about online-dating its not possible to find good systems. Im looking forward to many new videos from you. Thanks and have a good time
Could you establish your Online Services on Dubai without a permit? For example A Social media agency abroad. Meaning that physically it´s not there. Thanks!
Another question....if you owe money a criminal case is immediately created against you, but if someone owes you money don’t go to court?
@ Carl Hewlett: I really like this video! It is informative and educational video...Thank you, Sir! --
.. @3:23 though, when you did read the word “debt” … Oh, Goodness! I keep reading the word “debt” as /dɛt/. Which one is the correct pronunciation for the word “debt”: the way you did read (the native British)? Or, the one where “debt” is read as /dɛt/ ? ..
---- I would really like to know whether the silent “b” in the word “debt” is just a mistake… English is my second, even, my third language to speak… Mr. Carl, may I ask which part of Great Britain you are from?
Thanks Jashan! I am pretty sure my pronunciation is wrong, you shouldn't mention the b haha
Thanks, Carl! You did let me know that on a short notice. … Again, your videos are so useful !
I went to Dubai in April 2019 and I seen so many foreigners kissing and holding hands and wearing revealing clothing despite it saying please dress and act modestly. And nothing happened in terms of arrests.
The laws/rules he is talking about apply to people living in Dubai, not visiting. So, it may be that they were just tourists.
it is still disrespectful
Hi, great video. Pls can you do a video about phones, whats up laws, viber etc?? Are they allowed, what social media you can use ade citizen or foreigner??
another nice video, well done Carl. I am a programmer / DBA, something I wonder if I could find a good job in Dubai; I don't have wife or children, and I have a good job now, but it could be a nice experience a big change like this ... I don't know. great video, greetings from Italy

Programming jobs are needed in Dubai. Dubai is a city that really care about technology and you will many jobs in programming field. also it's one of the jobs with higher rate salaries compared to other jobs
I’m very interested in a job there with the metro system. Do you believe it to be a well paying job? I work for a large Railroad company in the states that is downsizing.

How does renting a place if someone goes there to work for a long term?
This is so similar to India. No holding hands, no kissing, no renting hotel rooms unless married.
Do you tip for someone providing a service or are you allowed to negotiate prices or services or do they find that offensive?
It’s okay to tip
Discussing prices are only okay if they don’t have a specific price for the service. Note that you can negotiate the price of items in some local shops.
Somehow true 7:05
But some people just super disrespectful. I met a guy who started his conversation about how stupid we are in believing in someone who is not exist (he meant god), I recognized that he is atheist that is ok & we talked about different beliefs. But, he turned his convention to whole another level, started to criticize political, educational, health care, social systems, he even found our traditional clothes are tasteless, our culture is strange, and our history is vague! After listening to him almost 20 minutes, I summarized all his points. He didn’t expect it and claimed that this is a freedom of speech, & i told nope. This is age related issue. You are too old to understand diversity, you born, raised, lived for more than half century in US, you have never get a chance to explore the world. & when you finally got a chance to travel, your mind can’t comprehend the word “diversity “. So any system or culture other than yours are wrong in your perspective! He posed for a minute and left without saying anything.
Well, you might call us defensive (thats is right to some extend) but I personally find myself realistic. I have been to 30 countries and i have never ever undermined any other cultures, religions, or beliefs 😉
Thanks for sharing your story! It's sad to hear how people can be so naive. Traveling the world and understanding different cultures is what will allow us to respect others! Sorry you had to go through that experience 😵
Alpha Centauri
Religion in Middle-east is just like speaking down about jewish in USA (YOU DON’T SPEAK ABOUT IT)
Alpha Centauri
I’ve never been to USA
An American Colleague once told me that
All I’m saying is every country has it’s pros and cons.
Your country for example is full of anti-islam(such as your president), not to mention what we here about racism against black people.
EngPMgt That is because you have been indoctrinated. There's nothing wrong inherently with insulting culture or religion. All ideas are worthy of criticism. I'm sure you see things differently, but obviously Western and Islamic cultures are very different.
I think one has to be respectful when one is in another's country or religious affiliation Now, if one decides to live there, it is more important to know the custorms and laws and culture. If one does not feel comfortable, one should decide to leave and return to that land from which you came. I am sure that many adjustments would have to be made to come to a city like Las Vegas. Drinking, Pot, gambling, prostitution, same sex marriage, and many religious and atheists groupes would be encountered as well as the laws, courts and business dealings. From my standpoint, I would not like to live as an expat for the rest of my life, unable to become a citizen of the nation or vote in any elections Many states are not democracies and do not have press freedoms. Speaking one's mind can be very painful in dictatorship.
Thanks Bro
I heard rumours around even on UA-cam it was said that there is prostitution act in Dubai....is it true?
Since your saying is controversial to what I insighted too.

How much is the pay in UAE is the same as That United States ?
@@lupeavalos9342 69
Again nice video and very informative. So here a question: If you forgot to pay renting check or water bill or something like that will they first try to remind you or will this be enough to get you in trouble although it happens only once?
Thanks Sana! They actually slightly fall into two categories, with rent, as it's more from a private organisation, it's based on the agreed contract terms.b They normally ask you to pay rent for X months upfront (if u don't pay e.g. within 30days u will be given a notice and a case will be initiated). Water / electricity is part of the government so it's more controlled. You normally get a grace period with a fine and if you still dont pay they can just cut your supply on the spot.
This is Good because it’s close to the system in Europe. Thanks for answering 😊
I like your videos very much, i am interested in working in Dubai, can you help with that?

Washing cars in undesignated areas, whether outside homes in closed communities or in front of buildings and on streets, is not permitted in Dubai.
Cool👌
Really...wooow
there are many "Nos" in Dubai. maybe it's easy to remember "Can dos".
what?? because NO, it's smarter and wiser to remember the things that can get you THROWN INTO PRISON in a middle eastern country, common sense.🙄
That would be a VERY short video.
Great video, if you have the time, I had some questions, maybe they sound really stupid but I consider visiting Dubai, just as a tourist for a month or so, to really experience it, and just wanna prepare as much as possible.
1. How are christians treated overall. I don't go around with crosses or any religious motives at all, but if it would become a topic, is it "safe" to say I am a christian. I am in no way a religious person, but I am a white male and I know very little of Islam, so if it for some reason become a topic, how do I tackle it. I assume it's no problem, seeing how many tourists you have, but I thought I still ask about religions.
2. Fairly related question about culture and respect. How do you greet the natives, handshakes or nods with the head etc. This might sound really stupid but I don't wanna accidently insult someone. Also, is it a good or bad thing to try out the customs of the country, like wearing the "native clothes" so to speak, they do look really comfortable, or greeting the natives with Salaam-Alaikum. Is that something to avoid? Some countries appriciate foregneirs to try to speak their language etc. I prolly stick to english regardless, just though I ask.
3. I prolly bring my computer and normally, on vacations, when I get some spare time to kill, where I don't have much energy for other things, I play video games. Are that allowed? Like violent video games etc. I would only play at the hotel room, but do they like check what I do on their network? Any trouble?
4. Do you tip people? Taxi drivers, in restaurants etc. I am not American, where I live, it's considered kind of an insult to tip people, and some countries, like the US, think it's kinda mandatory. How does it work in Dubai?
5. I smoke, how are the rules around smoking? Is it okey inside, or at certain areas, even outside? Where I live, it's not uncommon to throw the cigarettebutt at the ground, but I would guess littering is very strict?
6. Hard question maybe, but about food, is the concept Gluten Free common in Dubai? I have Celiac disease (gluten intolerence), I litterally can't eat wheat, rhye etc, aka bread, pasta and anything with flour. Are there gluten free options, at restaurants etc, or is the concept gluten free not existing? Some countries are very aware of it and some countries have no idea what gluten intolerance is.
Thanks for all your questions and thanks to Scarly Al Bloushi for answering all the questions! Everything goes like he said! I am a big gamer myself and they actually have a lot of network gaming areas here ( my entire childhood was spent in one of these :-P )
To answer the last question, healthy food is a growing industry here and it is common to find places that serve gluten free (not everywhere but you will find in the popular places). I will try to address some of these questions in a future video! Thanks again and let me know if you have any other concerns!
Many thanks for addressing all the points! :-)
Sorry for replying slow, thank you for the answers!

Where are you from Carl?
how to you get a liquor license
I have a question about PDA - is that only in regards to romantic/physical relationships? Like if friends get together and they hug and kiss each other on the cheeks and make a whole to do about seeing each other - that's allowed, right?
I don't think there is a problem there. Let me tell you something he couldn't tell you because it would put him into trouble.
The law doesn't allow having sex outside of marriage, but they don't enforce the law unless you shove it up their face. So have sex if you want just don't be bragging about it everywhere.
I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear; my question isn't about sex. It's about how friends greet each other in public. In most countries, friends meeting up for coffee or picking each other up from the airport (or really meeting up to do anything in public) will at the very least hug each other when they see each other. In most cultures, they kiss each other on the cheek as part of a basic greeting. Is that allowed?
Разговорчики с Софией dont take my words for it but I think that's ok
Thanks a bunch!

Health is not free for foreigners. You will need a health insurance or you will need to pay from your own pocket.
Some jobs provide health insurance. It depends on the employer.
I’m not sure about the quality of the service you will get. I think it depends on the hospital. There are good and bad hospitals. My last bad experience with hospital were before 2010 so I think most of them are good. Ask about any hospital before you visit it.

Excuse me, at night, isn't normal finding people kissing and making out in clubs or discos? I mean, is basically what you are going to do in one of those places apart from dancing and drinking.
Also, is the Internet fully accesible? I mean, can you watch porn on the Internet without problem?!
AssaSpeed You will need a VPN to watch porn.
Porn and related sites are blocked (there are loopholes obviously).
Kissing in clubs are fine I think (by law obviously it's not) coz it's not in public exactly and also everyone there is drunk, dancing or trying to hook up (like minded people). However if someone reports you you will get into trouble. It's like copying during an exam, many kids do it but if the studious nerd decides to complain ..you'll get into trouble.
