Honestly Percy would have been in Slytherin if Jk Rowling wasn't so biased about the houses. His whole character literally revolves around ambition.

At the end of the day him crying by Fred’s body, him joking,him coming back,him not letting Ron alone without having a blanket on, him being frightened that Ginny was in the Chamber and even beeing able to be in a relationship does show that after all he has a heart.

I always thought Percy was an important part of the books. He showed the bad side of Gryffindor. Conviction and stubbornness might be heroic traits, but they can be antagonistic as well.
Cormac McLaggen, James Potter, and teen Sirius Black (the later having took the most merciless karma) also showed the bad side of Gryffindor. Cormac himself was created with the specific purpose of representing the stereotypical Gryffindor by reputation. A stubborn, dumb, and self-righteous jock who thinks his strength makes him better than everyone else. And James too was an obnoxious immature bully jock and troublemaker spoiled by his own parents. He still was a jerk as an adult too, just not too much, getting in trouble with muggle police and being a prideful manchild with Vernon during his own wedding. Well, Pettigrew was a Gryffindor too, but he's a special case with some serious mental issues and a failed Gryffindor who wasted his own potentials.
@@gooby214 You may say that James was a jerk... but you need to remember that Snape was apparently equally bad. Also, Snape was a racist who wanted to join a terrorist organization with the goal of killing MILLIONS of innocents... and the boy did that openly....
James was a troublemaker sure... but he was actually a nice guy who protected and befriended kids who'd easily get bullied. The person he was mean to was a jerk who was proud of wanting to kill innocent lives...
And Percy wasn't really an antagonist... if you think about it, a lot of his situation actually wasn't fully his fault.... he didn't trust Harry, sure... but his family members nearly died because of Harry multiple times. And his family didn't give him the respect he deserved...

@@gooby214 Yeah my opinion of James (and to a lesser degree Lily) slipped near the end of the story where Snape's memory reveals what they were really like. James was an insufferable bully and the rest of the marauders were sheep who did the same. Snape didn't exactly make things easy on himself by being so secretive and wanting to become a death eater and all that. But they should have left him alone. Then Snape hurt Lily by calling her a mudblood and ending their friendship.
I feel bad for Percy. Barring his mother, he's surrounded by family who either do not care about his interests, or actively mock him for it. That takes a real toll on someone. People focus on the wrongs he did to his family, but that didn't come from nowhere.
I’m fourteen and I’m like Percy in so many ways like for example always sitting in my room on my iPad and I disrespected my family in so many ways one time my father got bit buy a dog and I was interested in a snack and one we were supposed to have Quran and I love to go to the Quran because after that we play with my cousins that is why I like it so when I heard we couldn’t go because my grandfather’s brother died and I was so sad that I couldn’t go to the Quran to play with my cousins so I told my mom why can’t he die another day but that was only one time and I was so disappointed because I couldn’t play with my cousins but my mom told me that it was okay because I was still a kid and I was just disappointed and also I’m a really good person believe me anyway besides that I when I go to my grandma I leave really quick because I’m bored and I didn’t what to do and yeah sometimes I’m miserable sometimes I’m not mostly I’m not but I’m like him in so many ways

ambition is a very ambiguous. Could mean a lotof things . I saw a lot of similarities of him with hermione but with less friends.He loved studing dreamed about a great job and having a great position . Just like hermione. He tried all his life to make life better for his family, and they mocked him. Whenever his siblings were in danger, he would jump in the action. I feel for him...
The only ones who mocked him were his siblings. And guess what? Siblings ALWAYS make fun of each other. That's NORMAL. His mother was always extremely supportive of Percy, and the ONLY time I remember Arthur "mocking" Percy was when he chuckled at Fred and George's joke about him in the chamber of secrets. That was only once. Arthur was still fine with Percy in other situations as seen throughout the books. PERCY is the one who decided that the ministry full of egotistical morons was right, and that his entire family AND harry WHO SAVED PERCY'S SISTER were wrong. He didn't even go visit his father after Nagini bit him, even though he could have died he didn't even bother go and visit him. Yes, he apologized for his actions, but still, you people are speaking like it's the rest of his family's fault and that he didn't do anything wrong.

Percy is the male Hermione who never had Ron and Harry as a friend.
Hermione's friendship with Percy was her only believable friendship and her only friendship that wasn't obviously just authorial fiat. Remember how they immediately strike up a civil conversation after Hermione's sorting (about Transfiguration).

I will grant you that she & Percy are both quite pedantic about the rules & regulations & nobody likes that.
However, Percy was certainly not her "only" naturally occurring friend within the Harry Potter saga after their conversation with the during hat.And, she was surely not friendless based on the author's intent or design throughout the series.
She may have similarities with Percy based on intellect, book-learning, adherence to the rules, etc... But, your calculation about the character's personality is subjective & unwarranted.
(BTW, initially, I read Hermione much along the same lines. In a lot of the early books she comes across as annoying & fuddy-duddy. I wanted to punch her in some scenes in the book. But, upon subsequent readings I gave her a leeway, and came to realize her as a character in her own right. Not as an extension of me, or any reader, but as her own character. So I'm coming from that POV.) 🤷♀️❤️👍✌️🕊️🤓
While they had many similarities, I always took Hermione as simply being thirty for knowledge, with her habit of being against rule breaking being more about her not wanting to be expelled and thus unable to keep learn, where as Percy's intelligence always coming second to his trait of being very ambitious. So yeah they made sense as friends but weren't exactly alike.

It's a very scary thought that if Hermione had not met Harry and Ron that she would become Percy
I don’t think Percy is a bad guy at all. For his entire life, all of his siblings would relentlessly make fun of him whenever he accomplished anything and was the butt of many jokes. Sure, he was full of himself and had no trouble showing off, but I think that was more an attempt to impress his family who he could never seem to make proud of him.
And then, when he was fresh out of Hogwarts, he got a job at the ministry. And, rather than being happy for him, his entire family couldn’t have been any less interested in anything he was doing. And then, in GoF, Harry comes back with the body of his dead classmate after the maze. Literally no one saw what happened except for Harry, and Harry’s story honestly sounds kind of ridiculous if you weren’t there with him.
So, it doesn’t shock me that before OotP, Percy sided with the ministry instead of his family (after they had also told him that he didn’t actually deserve his job, the ministry just wanted to spy on the Weasley’s, which was probably true but that’s a really hurtful thing to hear your family say).
And then there was the letter that Percy sent to Ron, telling him to stay away from Harry. Now, obviously, Percy does care about his siblings. In CoS, he was the one that noticed something was wrong with Ginny and comforted her. So, it’s understandable that he wouldn’t want his little brother to hang around with someone who’s almost gotten him killed numerous times (Philosophers Stone, CoS, and then he thought Harry disobeyed rules in GoF and put out his name in the gof, and then he thought he was lying about Voldemort’s return). Obviously, it wasn’t a good thing to send but I can see where he’s coming from.
After OotP, Percy still doesn’t come back to his family because he was understandably embarrassed (his biggest mistake was that he didn’t immediately apologize), but, in HBP, when Percy comes to the Burrow with Scrimgeour (he was obviously being used by Scrimgeour at that point to get to Harry’s whereabouts), the twins threw food at him (which yeah he deserved but he’s obviously not going to go apologize after that greeting).
But, in DH, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Percy comes back and apologizes for everything and he admits that he was in the wrong and proceeds to fight alongside his family during the battle.
And it was because of Percy that Fred Weasley died laughing. It was also Percy that cried over Fred’s dead body and shielded it from all of the fighting. It was Percy that didn’t leave Fred’s side until Harry helped him move the body somewhere safe. And it was also Percy that hunted down and killed the death eater that murdered Fred.
Sorry for going on a rant, but I feel like Percy’s an overhated character (especially when half the fandom simps for Draco, who never apologized for anything he did).

My favorite part about Percy's book "Prefects Who Gained Power" is its described as a small book. I feel like it implies that simply being a Prefect doesnt guarantee success in your adult life

He was just a conscientious person, with a father complex, but he had a good heart that's why he was placed at griffeondor. With time he matured, it took a lot of courage to recognize his defaults and to shatter his ego to rebuild a new. I admire him as a character.
Same here a noble heart, loyalty to your family, and great courage to do what is right even in difficult situations are qualities for someone of House Gryffindor, and Percy showed them even if it took a while for him to show them.
As somebody who's been an annoying prick as a teenager and had to essentially do the same thing (only instead of alienating my friends / family by having a huge ego and choosing work over them, I lied a LOT for no real reason), I really connected with his breakthrough and change.

Percy Wesley is similar to a young Albus Dumbledore, both ashamed of their family both wanted a better future for just themselves. Both also went down a dark path because of admiration of someone from outside of their family. Gellert for Dumbledore, and any sitting Minister of Magic for Percy.
Honestly, I know he’s so hated, but I feel like his success was ignored and he kinda was a bit bitter about that.

That's not true at all. His success wasn't ignored he was just rubbing it in. It's like yeah cool youre successful but don't show off. That's why Fred and George picked on him.
He was not a bad person, but a frustrated one. It's the kind of person who can be very dangerous in time of crisis, as we see during the Ministry's campaign against Harry and Dumbledore. He's a type that can make wrong choices out of cowardice or stubborness.
He only got successful because the ministry wanted to get closer to the weaslys and like kind of spy on them

Sad fun fact: when Fred was killed by Augustus and the wall exploded, Percy was distraught and refused to leave Fred’s body and held him closely until the rest came to take Fred’s body to where the other victims were and Percy still refused to leave him and hovered over him.
It goes to show he may of been an asshole but he still loves his family and would do anything for them. There’s been multiple times in the books and movies where he feared for his family members and tried being there, he’s an awkward person who’s just ambitious and has a big mind. He reminds me of Sheldon from the Big Bang theory.

There's a reason. He has a clear vision of where he wanted to be and actually is achieving it. That's something alot of people want but can't do.
I do too. Although I know why I like him, he's different than the rest of his family which makes him interesting, he's studious and dedicated, hardworking and focused. He was willing to stand up and say (not literally of course lol) "I'm not going to be what others EXPECT me to be, I'm my own man." People get mad at him because he's seen as disloyal to his family, but did they ever support him in his pursuits to EARN that loyalty? No they were upset he wasn't more like them and didn't even recognize his achievements. Honestly Percy was only ever like that because he never got any support back at home.
While I don’t really like him as a character, I feel kind of sorry for him because his achievements were kind of just brushed aside by his parents.
Being the Minister of Magic's personal ass-kisser is not an achievement, it's a testament to what a pathetic little worm Percy was. David Spade could do the job better, and he's a Muggle. It shouldn't have taken the death of his brother to make him get his shit together.
Not really, before he had the fight with Arthur his mother was extremely proud of him. Of course he could've felt overshadowed by Bill and Charlie but I doubt it since he had very good grades and a successful career

He had a dream job and his family rarely encouraged it... I completely understand Percy's perspective and what drove him to distance himself from the people who didn't care to try and reinforce his goals. Family is important, but you should always do what is needed to peruse and walk on your own path. He is a pretty solid case of an emotional abuse victim, before he started his job at the ministry, do to how his father and younger brothers treated him... it sucks how his actions affected the other members of his family so negatively, but if I had a personal goal that high, I can't say I wouldn't do the same. Luckily he knew better and mended his relationship with his family before his brother died, but who could have predicted that your whole family would go to war.
Yeah, but there is no proof from before the stuff post GoF that Arthur didn't support Percy's ambitions. It's really just the twins who were jerks to him, but to be fair he was that egotistical, even if he was a hard worker. And even then, judging by how Fred reacted to Percy's Joke, it seems like the twins just wanted him to stop being such a stick in the mud. I actually really love Percy as a character. I think he's really underrated, and his character arc is unique and sad. He was treated like a black sheep by everyone in his family except his mom. He had to learn hard lessons and it ended with him losing his brother. I find it telling that he was the one there with Fred when he died and not George. Percy's was the last joke Fred ever laughed at. It's heartbreaking.

Dude - I never realized that even though Percy was pretentious - his siblings were major assholes to him, they took it too far. It's kinda frustrating that he obviously was very ambitious - but super unfortunate his father and older brothers weren't involved at all in helping temper and direct it in healthy ways when he was younger. He's LITERALLY the ignored/excluded middle child, through and through. He had the pressure of measuring up to older brothers, was entirely overlooked by his father, it seems fairly natural for him to develop resentment towards him. Which was DOUBLE disappointment, since it of all his children, Percy's ambitions and interests were the most like his father's, and yet Percy seems to be the one missy alienated from him.
It seems extreme overkill how he was later characterized - simply to fulfill the role of "collaborator" for the plot. I mean, his siblings were turds to him. It's one of those rules in life - people are different things to different people. To everyone else, the Weasley siblings were super cool fun people - except to Percy. For Percy, he was basically the easy target/whet stone George and Fred sharpened their pranks and insults on - which made having a congenial relationship with Ron and Ginny impossible, because they simply mirrored their older brother's derision towards him.
Anyhow, the only problem I had with Percy's redemption arc is that it really should have happened way way way sooner. But then, the primary barrier to that reconciliation was the obstinacy and temper of Mr. Wesley - and Percy, wanting to surpass his father in general, wasn't going to be out done by him in stubbornness either.
It goes to show, it's the people you care about the most who hurt you the most, too. I would have found Percy's reconciliation being more believable when he finally visited the cottage and his mother hugged him. Given her own temper - and the obvious clarity/urgency/perspective the exposure of Voldemort would cause - I can't imagine Mr. Weasley allowing the tensions to continue - especially since the work of the Ministry just became exponentially more dangerous.
But at least she gave him a redemption arc at all lol.
The Weasly twins were so loved by everyone, but let's face it , because of Arthur and Molly absolutely pampering them till 16 , they caused so much shit around them . They belittled Percy so much , crushed Ron's confidence in many ways ( even Hermione reckoned that Ron having some time apart from twin might give him confidence) , they teased Ginny so much all day everyday that she felt like baring her soul to Tom freaking Riddle . Bill and Charlie were the perfect kids , Ginny was the only daughter, Fred and George were like her brother's reincarnation to Molly , when Ron and the twins were Arthur's favourite. Percy was the most ignored. To have a new robe , an owl , he had to get 12 owls and become a Prefect and his ambitions weren't appreciated. Of course he went a bit wayward. He was pretentious, but so many teens are ! Percy had his faults, kinda annoying and really thought the ministry was nothing but right . At least he finally came back and it took a great deal of courage to do so . He could have come back sooner but Ginny and the twins threw food at him on the Christmas dinner and he stormed out . Those twins were hella annoying.

Percy is a mix between good and bad. He certainly showed that Gryffindor has a bad side, with his stubbornness, but he simply wanted to be successful. He didn't visit his father after being bit by Nagini, but I feel for Percy. Whenever he tried to mention his accomplishments, he was openly mocked by all his siblings for it, and when Percy was prefect, people made fun of him, while Fred and George didn't openly mock Ron about it. Another thing is, when he started to build up a love life, only Ginny knew and he deeply trusted her with that secret, but she spilled it to the rest of the family, (Except his parents) I love the Weasleys so much, and all equally, and the family drama with Percy made the books and movies 10× better
It’s difficult being that one that stands out and is different from the rest of the family. Percy was a Weasley in the end but he had a difficult time finding his place in the family while still being himself. It’s very understandable the mistakes he made as a young man.
This has really changed my view on him.

I wasn't a fan of Percy but I understood where he was coming from. As someone who comes from a struggling, but a very large family. There are moments where I did things to separate myself from my family. But Percy was also the reason why I didn't do the things he did because I couldn't imagine losing my family over money or a big fancy job.

As “the boy who lived” and the only person Voldemort failed to kill. He had an air of mystery surrounding him. There were ANY number of reasons Harry could’ve survived. That is what enthralled most people. The mystery made them afraid, but captivated by what they didn’t understand.
That being the case the details of his(mis)deeds were always greatly hyped up. Not necessarily exaggerated as he still did have many amazing feats for a wizard as young as he was, but still greatly hyped up in the public eye.
If people just believed him about Voldemort he would have never been forced to do so many things himself. The basilisk, the tournament, the order, and then running for his life and tracking down Horcruxes.
He’d have had the best Auror’s after all those things which would’ve put down the threat of the dark lords return at least to a higher degree. Being the only wizard who really understood Voldemorts weaknesses and being THE wizard to have killed him Harry was privileged to have ANY position he wanted, perhaps even minister of magic himself.
To those who understood the hardships, Harry is a man who rose to the challenge.
To the general public who feared the dark lord Harry is God amongst men who succeeded where even Dumbledore failed.
Percy is an example of how ambition can harden you and blind you.
Or make it easy to cut out the clearly toxic family members that never acted like they even like you before the breaking point.

Wow. Everyone so judge mental of Percy. He was a very sympathetic character to me. Torn loyalties is a kind of normal thing in certain situations. He didn’t see the bad side of the ministry. To him, he was working for the good guys. Maybe if his family had tried to see anything from his point of view, there might have been room for reasoned discussion of the situation. In the end, he realized for himself. I never saw him as a bad guy, or even particularly unlikeable.

It’s crazy to think back to the story as an adult, Fred and George sound like bullies. I don’t remember feeling that way as a kid. I remember disliking Percy as a kid, but hearing this, he sounds like an ambitious and hardworking character that cared about his siblings. Oh so horrible between-the-line saying "Don't antagonize her, it won't end well", or there is this shocking idea that people are able to act differently depending on the situation or the people around and that the times Percy was around her she was able to put on a mask of niceness, plus considering he has quite a few signs of being autistic it would be easy for him to be manipulated if she gave just the slightest bit of surface-level validation since that is something outside of the mother none of the Dear Weasleys ever did at any point before he left them.
Even though Percy might seem like a douchebag sometimes when he favors laws over friends and family, but you have to admit he's a good guy. For example, how much he cares about Ginny when she was in the chamber of secrets or when Ron was in the water in the Tri-wizard tournament Percy wouldn't let go of him until he was wrapped in a blanket. He just wants to have a successful career and he cares about his family and friends a lot even though it might not seem like it. He was blinded by how happy he was that he got his dream job that he did anything to protect that title, even if it meant neglecting his parents. He didn't understand fully how much suffering his actions were causing his family. This is later proven when he starts feeling shame for what he has done.

I personally believe that Percy isn't a bad character. He had ambitions yes, but that was only because his family teased him with every accomplishment throughout his years at Hogwarts. He pursued his dreams of working for the Ministry not to spite his friends and family but to prove to them what he wanted to do.
Unpopular opinion, Percy was the most caring brother to Ron than everybody else, F&G were more bullies to him if you read every J.K lore about them.
- When Ron was awarded 50 pts for the chess game, he was proudly shouting his accomplishment
- When Ron was made prefect and Percy no longer contacted his family, he sent a congratulations and advice letter to him (yes, we know, he was wrong since the beginning but every book needs a conflict act)
Both F&G (especially Fred) were bullies to him - read every thing they made to him - and then you realize that, in this HP lore, the only one who behave more like a caring brother to Ron, was Percy. Bill and Charlie are largely absent in the books.
Fred and George's actions towards him were in response to his behavior. When we first meet him they're pretending they didn't notice him constantly talking about having been made a prefect. Let's not forget they insist on him sitting with them at Christmas dinner. You really don't get that he's been flexing his big brother muscles on them their whole life? It's not Gred and Forge who straight up tell him to shut up - that's Bill. Percy is arrogant, pompous, and authoritative, and all of his brothers do their part to keep his head from swelling too much.

Ya'll I am purely looking at this from the perspective of an employer, lawl, whatever Percy's flaws might be, he seems like he would overall make an amazing employee. I would simply ignore his snitching and other flaws and redirect his focus to more productive avenues. Kid is young and could be molded. He has the ambition and work ethic, I can work with that.
i've met people like percy
people from humble backgrounds who were desperate to leave an impression on the world and show that they were more than the sum of their parts. i admire the sentiment of wanting to be the best that you can be but it can be all too easy to let that grab for glory consume you
but we can at least be glad that percy eventually realized his own mistakes and ended on good terms
What I think of Percy is exactly what Dumbledore said. It’s easier to forgive and accept someone for being wrong than for being right. I believe Percy felt shame when Voldemort’s return was confirmed and didn’t know what to do since he was already in too deep his own shame of being wrong and pushing everyone aside insulting his father hurting his mom made him think that maybe there was no way back home for him at this point so he kept on this façade of being a proud minister’s softboy. Once he got back to them he understood he had no rights to ask for forgiveness and pointed out his mistakes to at least show repentance over what he had them go through. I think in a way Percy wasn’t a bad person but a misguided one. One that Dumbeldore could say was someone who dwelled on dreams and forgot to live. At least he realised it in time to be reunited with everyone before they lost Fred who was the one to instigate the healing of his family by stepping forward towards his in the wrongs brother.
I feel kinda bad for him for being shit on so much by everyone while all he's doing is studying and working hard.
Yeh but he was an obnoxious prick about his achievements. His older brothers were just as successful academically and they were not teased or taunted because they weren't uptight, egocentric pricks about it. And he turned on his family after his father, rather reasonably imo, said that he was promoted to his position of assistant to the Minister for Magic in order to spy on his family. In the end, his dad was right as once he cut off contact with his family, he was little more than an errand boy for the Minister. And while the twins sometimes took it a bit too far, some degree of teasing and harassing is is normal among siblings. It certainly didnt help that he was an obnoxious know-it-all who often belittled and was ashamed of his own family. I pity him, but a lot of his strife is self-inflicted. Kid's ultimately a jackass for a great deal of the story.

@@digitalgloop12 I certainly wouldn't blame him for being pissed at his dad for saying that. Yes his dad was right and yes Percy had a big ego but still. I don't think a kid wants to be told by his parent that he only got something because of an outside factor and not their ability. No that does not justify how he abandoned his family for two-three years though.

Percy was obnoxious and pompous about his achievements. He was also bragging that he's better. When he made Head Boy he was showing off his badge. That's why Fred and George were teasing him so much.
I really liked Percy... Though he was a bit strange, everyone has their own way of living.....
He was an excellent student and regarded duties and studies as his topmost priorities...... Even I felt bad when he left his family for that Ministry, but he returned and his character in Deathly Hallows was something I loved. He cracked a joke and made Fred laugh. In the book, he also ran behind Rookwood for revenge for his brother's death...... He was too shaken by his death, though not more than other Weasleys.
He was as sad as all the other Weasley’s except for George of course. I mean, I could never imagine loosing a twin as I’m not one

Reading all the comments below this video, I found lots of people understand Percy just like me. He always had great grades, but only Molly recognized his works which are disregarded by his family. His brothers always said that Percy is boring person like that.. Of course, I agree he lacks flexibility, but it cant be a reason that he have to be blamed by everyone. Becuase he just wanted to protect his own world.

You done such an amazing job, percys story being pretty much completely left out of the movie. In the retelling of it it not only shows how brilliant the books are, but it shared a valuable lesson for everyday people, thank you, a lot of work must go in to your videos, and it's well worth it 🏆🥇👍🙂.
I can sympathise with Percy, he just wanted to improve his own life and what's best for family's well being. He worked so hard and achieved so much, but his pride led him to being rejected by the rest of his family. He felt betrayed and sided with what he thought he believed in, until his beliefs betrayed him as well.
Percy is pure Gryffindor, it takes balls to stand up to his family in order to work in what he believed was right even when they didn’t agree with him. He wasn’t ambitious he wanted their attention.
I agree, that was his way of gaining glory, which is something Gryffindors do. This can make them arrogant

I feel like Percy shouldn't get As much hate that he's getting. He was just trying to do what he thought was best, he wanted to prove that he was worthy of his parents attention. I think Percy was just trying to get the approval of his father and the others. He was the third oldest child, and quickly after him Fred and George were born, I feel like When George and Fred were born he stopped getting alot of attention since Molly and Arthur would be focussed on the twins then Ron then finally Ginny. Molly would've thought the older three could look after themselves leaving Percy in the shadows and to try to live up to Bill and Charlie who set massive expectations for the weasley since they did alot of important things. He got jealous quickly when Ron came best friends with Harry and got upset when his parents got proud at Ron for doing something Percy thought was stupid yet showed little attention when he did stuff he thought was worthy of attention from his parents. So with many siblings who caught his parents attention, he looked for attention from others of a higher rank and became snobbish. But he loves his siblings, he loved his family but he just wanted the attention he never got. The love for his family was clear in this video. Percy was the boy who never got the attention he craved.
So yeah I don't believe Percy should be hated, everything he did was what he thought was best. He learnt to be a better person, and devolved into a great person. He had a massive character growth something some lack. Percy grew into a great husband and father and brother. He partly blamed himself for Fred's death and was mad at himself for not spending so much time with his brother.
He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to be what his parents wanted him to be. He looked for others approval instead of his own, so he went with the ministry instead of his parents- thinking maybe if he got a really good job then he could make his parents proud and help them- maybe his father could retire.
Percy turned into a powerful person going through a massive rollercoaster of emotions. If he didn't go through all that then maybe things would of been different and he would of gone to his brothers wedding and helped his family.
Overall there's alot more depth that I think goes to Percy then that he was just a snobbish brat who betrayed his family. He's just a boy trying to make his parents proud and prove he's as good as his siblings.
I totally agree. Everyone arounds me hate percy and i disagree with them. Like you said before he just wanted to prove himself and do what he think is the best. At least he came on final battle against voldemort and death eaters so... Percy is actualy one of my favorite characters in books what i know is unpopular but still...

Percy was under pressure to be fair. Bill was clever and Charlie was an excellent quidditch player. So Percy worked super hard at his schoolwork.
Percy should've known that trying to control Fred and George would be like trying to herd bats.
