This is a very good episode. The authors are so authentic and knowledgeable and the interview questions are great! Thank you!

I watched it all the way through while working on my next book.
    1) Book trailers 2) Mailing lists 3) Do what you love 4) Blog if you love it 5) Use Social media
It's worth listening to, I guess, if you do something else, it's good "background noise" but hasn't keen insights: oh yeah "be nice, and good things happen" and "build connection with your readers, make them part of your creative process and let them know they are part of the story" were insights I didn't have and haven't seen elsewhere. So I guess it was worth listening to.

@@lezivate6206 Ok here's my advice: go deep, not wide. Go KDP and go all in. But don't stop there. Make your book available on Kindle Unlimited. Lost revenue but gained readers = free advertizing. Get your author page on author central. Sign up for good reads. Do regular book give aways. I Do make sales and do Not use book videos (yet) or mailing lists. I should but I would rather write more books than market the ones i've written.
Oh, work your book blurb, your keywords, and your book cover. Your book cover probably sucks and redoing it should be fun anyway. My first book covers sucked. then they were ok. now they rock. Keyword and book blurb and author bio.
I have literally spent zero on marketing, I have some time, no money and DO get sales.
Go deep with kindle (cheap ebook)(not cheap paperback!). I can't imagine trying to go wide it's like 10 times the work for at most 10% more sales.
I still haven't done any kindle A+ content but should and so should you!

Hi Ed. If your self publishing...watch lots of UA-cam videos. Get an email address that you can use for all of your books that is separate to your personal address. If you can afford it get a website made for you and your book/s. Then start the process of building your following... Spend as little money as possible. Make sure your book has been looked over by several people for mistakes etc. Get a few copies printed for review, then read it and look for more mistakes. Once this has been done either get a few more copies printed for review, then you should be ready for launching. Build a following on twitter/Facebook etc, this process should be started as soon as possible. If launching on Amazon you can get away without purchasing an ISBN number, they will issue you with their own unique one. You can pay for advertising on Amazon and Facebook, but keep the amount to a minimum, say $50, but not for the 1st couple of weeks you need to see how your email list friends and family have gone with 1st couple of weeks of sales. If it is a work of fiction and can be a series write the second book to first draft before launching 1st book. Set the 1st book price low, say 0.99c and give away copies for free to get peoples email addresses. When you launch 1st book have the title for second book ready to go and include it in 1st book along with email/website address. Set the 2nd books price a little higher and use everything that worked for you with 1st book. There is plenty to do...by watching UA-cam videos you can build your knowledge bank, all the help is there, just be patient...

0:50 "For me, the first thing I'd do would be to email my list of 65,000 readers on a mailing list."
Doesn't seem smug in the slightest.

How do you build others will to market. Try to stay in one market with email or Amazon and a website to gain independence. Blog for experience set a mailing list, twitter and facebook. Advertise others with consent. Set up mailing list focusing on the platform. From a few clients how we gain clients taking away the publicity fact that supporters will still read

Im not saying there was no good information here, because there was, but this was a mediocre interview. Three authors on and one got to talk 80% of the time. It wasnt even the one with longest time in, or the biggest following, or the most experience.
