Have you used KOBO before? Do you recommend it to publish a book? I have a personal specific question about terms of agreements with all of these companies. It is difficult for me to understand everything included in the writing of the terms of agreement with KOBK and did not want to bind myself unintentionally. Just to create an account at KOBO I had to sign an agreement but now I'm scared. Lol.
Thanks for the wonderful content, just what I need as a new author🤩🤩🤩 I am just wondering if you can upload ebook to draft digital and KDP at the same time with my own ISBN?
Thanks for teaching me about D2D. I think starting off I will do KDP and D2D. If I selected Expanded Distribution on KDP, will it interfere with me uploading on the other site?
Subscribed! And I am so glad I found you. I started my writing/publishing journey in 2011, then had to take a break for life events...I am back now, serious and ready to go. However, I have found that all that I knew has updated and changed! Thank you for your videos, instructions, and encouragement.
And you're right...KDP still no Hard cover and I would like to see the pocketbook size available. 4.25 by 6.8. I want a small book of big info hehe. Lulu.com is the only one I know with hard and soft cover in that size so I'm at least going to test the quality. Unfortunately, I will have to reformat for KDP as a 5.5X8.5 but when I want Ebook version, will I need another format? I want to be efficient so I find it better to make the size one where you can take same manuscript for ebook and print. I'm still new but what do you think?
A reason I am looking at Ingram Spark is languages. I produce books in multiple languages for teaching languages. CreateSpace was great and didn't are about the language, but when my books were moved to KDP, almost half were in "unsupported languages" and I now can't change them or publish new books in those languages. Lulu isn't good enough, so I have to look to Ingram Spark for future books.
If you unpublished the book from KDP then republish it with the new ISBN number so you can go wide will you loose all the reviews tied to the first ISBN number?
Thanks Bethany! Your vidoes have really helped me publish my recent children's book. Is it ok if I have my hardcover children's book listed cheaper on my website than on KDP and Ingram for with my royalty being at 50% on Ingram, I only profit $1.75. THanks
Amazon/KDP lowered the price on my book to more then half of my price & they don't even send me notifications on sales. I had someone buy one as a test & I didn't get a notification of the sale. Do you know what's up with that? Thanks.
Great video! You explained things very clearly and you didn't talk too fast like most people! Just to clarify, is draft2digital for ebooks only? Or do they make print versions too?
LOL, appreciate the detail. Self-published my first book on create space back in 2016 but wasn't able to follow through on promoting it due to an illness. Just finished the manuscript of the second edition -- appreciate the update on what's changed in 4 years.
I’m not sure of the best way to go about publishing a childrens book, for my grand children (I have 8)! A friend says Ingram Spark but I’m watching all your videos and want to choose the easiest format as I’m nervous about how to do this! Would you mind sharing your thoughts on Ingram Spark publishing?!
I strongly dislike Ingramspark and have stopped using them personally. I would recommend working with Kindle Direct Publishing, very user-friendly and helpful!
I've taken Sarra's Publish and Thrive course just this past August/September. I love everything about Sarra, I'm heavily involved in a lot of her platforms. :D
Great video. Regarding the ISBN, who controls it when it is free from a company, isn't the owner of the ISBN the owner of the product's transactions--just asking. The word free scares me.
Bethany, your videos are amazing. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I decided to take your advice and I will go for KDP, D2D and IngramSpark. Just one quesiton: how you handle the pre-orders of the paperback? I guess you use a link from IngramSpark and send it to your audience. But then all this orders will not contribute to your sales rank in KDP. Am I right?
Paperback preorders aren’t an option on kdp so yes I use Ingramspark for that. If it’s sold on Amazon, it’ll count as an Amazon sale, but your tracking and payment for that sale would come through Ingramspark.
FYI - KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) has HARDCOVERS now! Here's my first video testing them out: ua-cam.com/video/Pk22SiX3VAM/v-deo.html
Sounds like that's a clue to do an updated video on this topic.

So glad you like the videos!
Hi can you tell me how long it takes to get ISBNs if you choose the get them separately? Or did you choose do the free ones.
Thank you for your encouraging videos. I just published my book on Amazon in print. Waiting for the Kindle version to go live. :-)
Thank you for sharing quality information
Wait did I just find a Christian fictional author?! And you're helping me to reach my goal of becoming the same?! New sub here. Thank you!
wow this is well detailed and an insight
A reason I am looking at Ingram Spark is languages. I produce books in multiple languages for teaching languages. CreateSpace was great and didn't are about the language, but when my books were moved to KDP, almost half were in "unsupported languages" and I now can't change them or publish new books in those languages. Lulu isn't good enough, so I have to look to Ingram Spark for future books.
That’s so cool, I had no idea!
Thank you for this information! I am nearing the final stages of publishing my first book. It's an epic fantasy. I'm ready :).
Yay so exciting, congratulations!
@@BethanyAtazadeh Thank you so much!
Favourite video on the internet atm. THANK YOU1
Incredibly helpful. Thank you!!
Sounds like KDP is the application for me! ☺️ thank you☺️
Yay!
THanks
Thanks a million for this information.. but my problem is this, how do I get a US account so I can automate it for payment because am not from the us.
The details are important!
Your videos are so clean and clear. Thanks
This help me so much. Wonderful explained I was going to use blurb. But I think these are 100% better. What does royalty mean? 😅
Amazon/KDP lowered the price on my book to more then half of my price & they don't even send me notifications on sales. I had someone buy one as a test & I didn't get a notification of the sale. Do you know what's up with that?
Thanks.
Hi thanks for all the informations
I have a question
Can l publish the same book in different books market
Thanks 4 this video, great info!!!!
Great video. So do you purchase your own ISBN number? Also, is there a different number for physical copy and ebook??
Great video! You explained things very clearly and you didn't talk too fast like most people! Just to clarify, is draft2digital for ebooks only? Or do they make print versions too?
An ISBN number is required for any book made publicly available, wether for sale or on a gratis basis, either the book is listed online or not
I’m so confused, if the Kdp print is available, then why not just use them? I’ve only used the ebooks feature many years ago.
Thanks for fab info and details:)
LOL, appreciate the detail. Self-published my first book on create space back in 2016 but wasn't able to follow through on promoting it due to an illness. Just finished the manuscript of the second edition -- appreciate the update on what's changed in 4 years.
Im so happy I came across your vid. So informative. Thank you!!
Very positive and enthusiastic, enjoyed listening. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Enjoyed the help
Great video. Regarding the ISBN, who controls it when it is free from a company, isn't the owner of the ISBN the owner of the product's transactions--just asking. The word free scares me.
If you’re a member of the Alliance of Independent Authors the uploading and Update fees for ingramspark are waived! 😃😃
This was very informative. Thank you for sharing.
