  • In September 2021, in Killamarsh, Derbyshire, 2 children, their friend and their mother were brutally murdered in the place they should have been safest - their own home. A subsequent investigation uncovered catastrophic failings by the Probation Service - failings that had deadly consequences. This is what happens when a drug-abusing, violent predator enters the world of a happy family. This is the case of mass murderer, Damien Bendall

The fact that people who know him state he didn't have a sexual preference for children, merely means that he has not previously been caught out. The reason child molesters get away with it for years is because no one suspects them of it. My heart goes out to the families of his innocent victims.

@margaretwolley7335 my partner is a prison officer. He works on the VP wing with 95% of the inmates are sex offenders. He did say that pedophiles are some of the cleverest people. I was like, eh, what? I was told that they cover their tracks well and know how to not arouse suspicion for many years.

If you are a single mother or father. Before you bring a person into your children's lives and homes, get to know them, really well, find out if they've got a criminal past. Do not put your kids at risk ever. Don't even have your kids meet anyone until you are fully confident that you can trust this person around your most precious loves.

I sobbed through the last 20-25 minutes of this video. Especially when Emma recited the heartfelt and touching victim impact statements. I found myself absent mindedly nodding as Emma described the mother insisting on seeing her daughter's body. My own son was murdered August 21, 2020. Prior to cremation, the funeral home provided a small chapel where I could sit with my dead child for an hour. I brought my blue tooth speaker and played all of the songs that meant so much to my son, who was an excellent drummer and a kick ass vocalist. The director had no other bereaved in the place (the pandemic was full on, so no funerals were possible) so I was free to turn the volume up. I brushed his hair -he always had that unruly little wisp in the front - and traced the contours of his beautiful face with my finger. I was desperately trying to memorize every feature because I would never see him again. I pulled the sheet back a bit and audibly gasped at the aggressive autopsy incision, which I touched after kissing my fingertips, as I'd done for immeasurable boo boos in his little boy years. I sang to him, dripped tears all over his precious face, and begged him to PLEASE send me signs now and then to assure me that he is alright. Too soon, the hour had passed and I snapped a few photos, for my eyes only. I walked out to my car in a fog of pain and desperation. When I looked up, the most beautiful butterfly was perched on my windshield. I looked up at the sky and said, "That's ONE! Thank you, son."

All too often, news and social media tend to focus almost entirely on the lives and subsequent demise of the three other victims while uttering barely a word of mention about Connie. Her beautiful life and tragic demise is treated like an afterthought or footnote to a much greater and gripping story. It is quite unsettling and extremely disturbing, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of Connie as well as to all those whose love and grief for a lost loved one is all but completely ignored or even mocked by the media.

Having watched it, I absolutely agree the rape was the objective. The fact that he minimises those acts are a red flag and in his own sick way, he probably wanted to conceal that element and the murders were a distraction. Which sounds absurd but go into his mind and it makes sense. He wants to be billy big bollocks and combined with that moral defect, risk for serious violence etc he was waiting to erupt. The drugs lit the fuse and thus his malevolence rears its horrific head. The opportunity was afforded by gross professional failure. Without all these elements it might never have happened.

I'm not going to apologise regarding my conflicted feelings towards Terri. So much frustration and despair as to why she allowed this absolute beast to be within spitting distance of those beautiful babes.
I totally understand & relate to having low self-esteem having been in numerous abusive relationships (including DV) but that changed as soon as I had my daughter.
I separated from her manipulative, narcissistic father long before she had chance to be shaped by his toxicity and don't regret it for a solitary second.
My girl (now a teenager) has considerable additional needs and I could only wish to be in a supportive, loving relationship for both myself and her but nobody has ever come near to making the grade.
My worst fear ever is my daughter being abused. The guilt and torment that it would cause me to know I had essentially enabled such a life-affecting, betrayal of trust to occur has made me hyper-aware of potential deviance in others.
Thus, I would need to be 1000% sure before ever allowing any man to invade our safe space.
I'm sorry for Terri for her ultimately fatal decision to move this pitiful monster into HER CHILDREN'S home but most of all for the three innocents that had their entire lives ahead of them and were betrayed in the most unimaginably brutal manner.
