they don't sound similar when spoken most times, but seeing French and Spanish next to each other like this, you can really see how closely related the two are.
You are right.
Learning French from Spanish is good, but also knowing English helps too.
They sound almost totally different, but deep down they are family. There are even words that literally mean the same thing and use the same letter system of their respective mother tongue of Latin origin.

Dato curioso: "Un, deux, trois, soleil !" es la versión francesa de "un, dos, tres, quesito stop!" (Así me lo cantaban de chiquita, ni idea de cómo se dice en otros países, pero básicamente es el Escondite Inglés, ese juego infantil donde alguien se voltea, cuenta 1, 2, 3 y mientras te acercas a la pared, y cuando ese alguien se vuelve hay que quedarse quieto). Con las cuentas de 1, 2, 3 y las menciones del sol eso se me vino a la mente. Siento que le aporta un poquito más de nostalgia a la canción, como si no sólo echara de menos al sol, sino a los cálidos y tranquilos días de infancia. 🌞

Fun fact: "Un, deux, trois, soleil !" is the French version of "Green light, red light" (that's what my research told me it's called like, but it's this children's game where basically someone turns around says green light, and you run towards a wall, and then when that person says red light you have to avoid moving, in Spanish cultures it usually features a count to 3 and then saying stop). With the counts to 3 and the mentions of the sun, that came to my mind. I feel like it adds a bit of extra nostalgia to the song, like if they weren't just missing the sun, but also the warm and tranquil childhood days. 🌞
*The parenthesis don't say the exact same thing, but both explain the game and how I don't really know if the game is called like that.

Beaucoup datent des années 1970-80 et ont pu représenter pour Pomme un 2e niveau de nostalgie. Les chansons les plus connues chez nous sur le soleil et la route des vacances sont de Nana Mouskouri, Nicoletta, Au p’tit bonheur, Michel Fugain, Nino Ferrer, ou dans un autre genre Jennifer 😀

Personalmente, pienso que hace referencia a la nieve como símbolo de dolor, de tristeza, de desamparo, de angustia, y el sol, por otra parte, lo veo como símbolo de una luz que nos puede curar de todo ese dolor, todo radica en la forma en la que quieras llegar a esa luz, y aquí es lo que hace qué esta canción me duela tato.
Como encontrar la luz me pregunto?
Quizás terminando con esto, quizás terminando con el dolor aniquilándolo, quizás así pueda sentir al sol, quizás así el frío ya no queme más.

en el principio de la cancion, cuando cuenta hasta tres, se refiere a un juego de recreo "un deux trois soleil" (creo que es el equivalente de "un dos tres toca la pared")
para mi, toda la cancion trata de la inocencia, la infancia, cuando jugabamos bajo el sol, y de su deseo de volver al verano
1:05 habla del "lobo malvado" del cuento de la caperucita roja
1:16 "la carretera del sur" en francia es la carretera de las vacaciones que nos lleva a la playa y el sol
