Hi Marlene thanks for the comment. Just for the record I do not work for Blackstone and I bought this griddle with my own money. As soon as I saw it on UA-cam, I Googled Blackstone 1901 and the Ace Hardware an hour from my house had one. The only one in Miami (I agree frustrating). It was already unboxed but not put together (not good for a UA-camr) but I paid full retail price for it anyway. It looks like they are going to sell these at Ace Hardware. I did a few searches on Ace Hardware's website and looks like they are sporadically available in many cities across the country. Good luck!!!
The lid is great!! The whole this is really well put together. The only complaint I have is the rear drip tray. It is not positioned right and does not catch all the grease. That's really my only issue. I LOVE cooking on this thing. I call it the "Cadillac" of Blackstones. Happy 4th!!
I used some thread lock on the screws and tightened them so the lid doesn't "wobble" and closes without twisting. Over a year now and it's still perfect. The grease catch thing is definitely a pain in the ass!! Still haven't found the ideal fix. I fold up some paper towels and stuff then under the catch to lift it closer to the drain.
Hi Marlene, I haven't done any type of test like that but I'm sure it gets well over 600 degrees. I would never go that high because it would mess up the seasoning and there is not really any need to. The only time I get it to 500ish is when I'm going to sear something. But to answer your question it's gas, it will get hot...
Thanks for the video. Definitely helped me buy mine. I noticed the same issue with my grease trap and it still spilled out onto the ground. Did you have the same issue and did you find any solution? I was thinking of making the slots the griddle slides into a little deeper so it’ll sit back far enough.
Awesome Daniel, I love mine. As far as the grease trap I have not tried to figure out a fix and have not contacted Blackstone yet. Let me know if you hear anything please...
I just got my 1901 and I am very disappointed in the Grease catch system, the catch barely goes under the back of the grill and the first time I made bacon the grease horseshoe’d back under the exit on the back and ran into the slot where the grease catcher fits and filled the frame with grease and didn’t notice until it started leaking out the legs onto my patio. Have you had issues with yours? Great video by the way keep up the good work.
Thanks Dan!! Make sure you push the griddle top back as far as it goes. If you lift off the griddle top, you will see the notches in the front allow it to slide to the rear about a half inch to lock it in. Not much but makes it better. Also, I stopped using the disposable aluminum grease tray container. I found the grease just slides right underneath it making more of a mess. I have not reached out to Blackstone yet regarding this but plan to. Let me know if you hear anything. Thanks...
Looks like an awesome griddle! You think if you pinch the holding hook on the grease cup with a pair of pliers it will change the angle it sets at? Maybe help?
Thanks Chris. The shelves don't get that hot like before. Those baffles work good, just make sure the bottles aren't actually touching. Not sure about the front shelf, haven't used it yet but I don't think it will get hot at all. Also it is adjustable and very easy to take out or adjust.
Nice upgrade. I really like this unit and I wasnt sure if I should upgrade to this unit or a 36" inch. I have the same unit you have, the 21" inch adventure series. What do you think.
I really like it because it's not as wide and both shelves fold down. Also it comes with some heavy duty castor wheels. All four wheels turn 360 degrees and all four lock as well. I had to move it under my sail because it started raining and I did it with one hand because I was on the phone. I don't think you could do that with the 36".
BigCat - this is the second time I watched this video and I’m SOLD on the 1901. Now I’ll be on the look out for the best sale price. I wonder if Blackstone will come out with a 1901v2 - based on the negative feedback on the grease catch system! Did you do an unboxing / assembly of the 1901? Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁!
Thanks Lee, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. I did not do an unboxing because the day they became available in Miami I called the local Ace Hardware to hold it for me. When I got there they had already cut the box open to make it a display lol.
That's a sweet griddle Mike. I still need to make a lid for my 36er, you can buy them but I like to make my own. I like those side baffles. I put a can of Pam next to mine one time and it got so hot when I picked it up it blistered my fingers and that's really dangerous because hot aerosol cans can explode. Great video brother 👍
Great review & first cook. That blackstone looks like a beast & really solid. But you got to get their new smash burger smasher. It is fantastic. 3000% better then their original one.
You need to stop this whole new shit you’re trying to do with a cook book setting! I liked you more when you were having fun just cooking! I can’t set though a whole episode now. Sad
I hate when people do these new reveals but nobody sells them. I can’t find one. Not even the Blackstone store has it. I would really like one

Just picked this model up at Ace Hardware
I think they are ACE hardware exclusives. Got mine two weeks ago and love it!
Looking at this same unit, nothing like grilling on the 305 !
Thanks Al, 305 till I die!!!
Did anybody find a fix for the grease tray not catching the grease??
I have not but if you find one let me know and I'll make a video...
Is this convertible to NG?
Honestly I'm not sure but I'll see if I can find out...
What do you think of the lid opening and closing? We are looking at this model but the lid seems janky.
The lid is great!! The whole this is really well put together. The only complaint I have is the rear drip tray. It is not positioned right and does not catch all the grease. That's really my only issue. I LOVE cooking on this thing. I call it the "Cadillac" of Blackstones. Happy 4th!!

that griddle is dope best one yet
Thanks brother!!!
I would say that the sides are more like a wind deflector than anything else
👍👍
Lesson, don't touch the metal parts directly next to the fire.
Lesson learned lol... Thanks for stopping by...
My first look at this series. Give it and your video 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks bro!!!
What's up Big Cat like the grill and the burgers you are the MAN!!!!
Thanks Chef, looking forward to having fun with this one lol...
Awesome video
Thanks pde442!!! Glad you liked it...
Do you know how hot it gets temp wise.

Love mine but how many models do they have? It’s hard to find two alike on UA-cam
I hear you... Seems like they are making different models for different stores.
Beautiful griddle!
Thank you, it has been great so far overall...
Looking good Big Cat
Thanks Ludlow!!!

Any solution to the grease trap?
The new side pieces are actually to prevent wind as well as deflect some of the heat from the griddle.
Dual purpose, I agree. Thanks for the comment!!!
Love it!!!
Thanks Norman!!!
Nice job Mike on that warning!!! Great video, great cook!
Thanks Tommy!!!
Big Cat, great review my brother!
Much appreciated AVJ!!!

I'll definitely give it a shot. Thanks Ryan!!
Awesome griddle big cat. You got a lot of area to work with now. Those were some delicious looking burgers.
Thanks David, yeah it's a nice upgrade from the 22".
Kicking butt on the new Blackstone!😁🤘🔥
How hot do the shelves and the front rack get? I have warped quite a few soy sauce bottles on the side shelves of my 36. Enjoy the new toy Big Cat.

My hood was dented
No bueno!!! Call Blackstone and ask them to send you a new one...

Nothing like a nice juicy greasy hamburger.😋
Yep!!! Thanks Curt!!!

The new one is much bigger that the old one. You can cook a lot more on it.
Yeah it's going to be fun loading that thing up for sure. Thanks BitcoinMan!!!

Thanks Ron, yes the side baffles work good for bottles. Have a great Sunday brother!!
What's so dangerous about it
It was hot lol...

Thanks Roger, not sure which smashburger smasher you are talking about. I will be on the lookout though. I'm assuming they sell them at Walmart?
Good stuff bro!
Thanks Alton!!!

Thanks for the feedback T bone, just trying new things but need to hear comments like yours.
