Hi Same Day. Semaglutide is probably not going to work for you. Consider talking to your doctor about alternative FDA approved weight loss medications, or possibly adding metformin ER. But if you’ve not noticed any benefits by now, they are unlikely to have a “delayed kick in”. Talk to your doctor. Hope this helps. Good luck! PS: consider the book Volumetrics: How to Feel Full on Fewer Calories by Professor Barbara Rolls of Penn State University.
Everyone has a different starting weight (in lbs or kg), so we have to look at the percentage of weight loss so that you can understand how that relates to your starting weight. For instance, if the average weight loss is 15%, someone who weighs 200lbs will lose 30lbs. Someone who weighs 400lbs will lose 60lbs (average).
@@DrMcGowanMD it could be percentage per month for a specific BMI. is it a completely steady progression for the full 68 weeks? that would only be less than 1 percent per month. Rather subtle effect. Is that without caloric restriction? is that 'normal' eating.

Hello all, I haven’t started Ozempic just yet, just in research phase, but had another question. To those of you who have been on it, did your energy level go down, did you feel more exhausted/tired since you’re not eating as much? Thanks in advance!
Sad that you haven’t mentioned the lean mass reduction in your videos. Wish more doctors who prescribe for a fee would be more open about this and also addressing food addictions. Like a big, “Ooooops, forgot to mention, in trial there was also a 40% lean mass reduction.” Tell the whole truth. Post the trial(s) and every single one of the graphs (don’t just pick and choose the ones that will sell the injection). There is more to the story. Tell it all. Tell people how the fat cells multiply and what actually happens when they stop the injections (and have not addressed their food addictions).
Found the personal trainer losing money off this, if you have a smart doctor they tell you this and they tell you to do weight training for this reason
Crazy depression on this drug! Like a dark, creeping anxiety feeling, this happened after the first shot of Wegovy. Seems to be subsiding but it has frightened me....
It’s a potential problem and something that we should all be aware of. I have never received a single penny from a pharmaceutical company, as it might bias my views. Stop hating on people who are getting this to lose weight because USA food is trash,: causing Chronicle diseases obesity, imbalance hormones..etc.
Wegovy is FDA approved for the treatment of weight, not diabetes. Ozempic is for diabetes. But you are correct that supplies for all of these meds are limited and Ozempic, in particular, should be reserved for those with diabetes.
My husband is a diabetic and is prescribed ozempic, I am not a diabetic and I was prescribed wegovy. Similar drugs, similar outcome but one is specifically designed for diabetics and the other is not. Also there is no shortage, that is a lie cooked up by the media.
Doesn't worl for everyone....As a food addict,I eat even when not hungry.... Yes Semiglutide Makes me feel Not hungry but the Food addiction is more powerful
A 300lb person would lose 42 pounds in 68 weeks. That’s .68lbs a week using a drug that costs you thousands over that 68 weeks. Most people, like well over 90% of people can lose weight about 1lb a week by altering diet and performing 30 mins of moderate exercise 3x a week. So unless you have a serious medical issue that you cannot lose weight l, the numbers show that the drug really doesn’t do much.
Not worth it for all the side effects possible. Why don’t they just stop messing with our food and get us all back to organic food without additives and harmful oils and pesticides?
Or just go to the gym regularly, and eat in a caloric deficit. Ohhhh wait, most humans are too lazy to get off the couch so people have created weight loss pills. 💀
This is precisely why randomized, placebo controlled studies are required. In the STEP1 clinical trial, patients who used the active semaglutide lost 14.9% of their weight. Those who received the placebo injection (and made the same lifestyle changes) only lost 2.4% of their weight. This type of study “proves” the impact of the study medication over placebo.

Hi, would that be the same with ozempic, I have finished 4 weeks on 0.25 now half way through my fith week on 0.5 but I have had no change in appetite suppressed, or side affects and definitely no weightloss, should something be happening by now. Thankyou.
I was on Ozampic all the way up to 2 milligrams no appetite suppression nothing period just started mounting jarrow Now I'm worried because I saw some pharmacy Manjaro is new
Are you exercising and changing your diet?
@@Ellie80681 I have tried to change my diet I have made myself cut back and eat healthy but I’m still hungry all the time, I don’t do any exercise but I have a very active job. I just hope things kick in soon
@@DrTomMD Thankyou for your advise, notes taken.
Is this drug safe for ckd patients?? Plz doc tell me
thank you so much for the info it is slow for me maybe due to my age but it is coming off
why specify in percentage? does it plateau? otherwise such a metric doesn't make sense
Is that without caloric restriction? is that 'normal' eating.
does he say 68 weeks? or 6 to 8 weeks?
68
please tell the risks!
He did.
Weight loss😂
A lot of people I know have lost more than 50 within a few months, start BMI of 35 😅 .. But they also think about the amount of calories now 😊
Let’s review the effects after 5-10 yrs of use.
25 lbs gone so far. Its slowing down.
25 in two weeks? Wow. That is substantial. Are you eating better now? (No more "3 apples a day.)
Im at 29 lbs so far now. I still can not stomach anything but apples and boiled eggs. Water and unsweetened tea. I cut grass with the push mower not with my riding mower. My jeans are now at 40 waist. It was at 48.
@@charlie-1850wow great results! Keep it up!
How do I get it??
Go to a med spa place
This drug has me fatigue. I'm going to quit. The fatigue is too much. I don't have the strength to exercise because of it
This happened to me for the first 2 weeks. I used to run at least 2 miles everyday and when I started wegovy I completely stopped because I was fatigued but after 2 weeks I was able to start again and feel better
I am switching to Ozempic from Manjuro is the middle of August. I have lost 125lbs so far on Manjuro since October 2022! I am taking 15 mg now of Manjuro what dosage do you suggest to start with Ozempic?
Hello all,
I haven’t started Ozempic just yet, just in research phase, but had another question. To those of you who have been on it, did your energy level go down, did you feel more exhausted/tired since you’re not eating as much? Thanks in advance!
68 weeks 😂 , are you freaking serious , l lose 25 pounds in à month doing just the carnivore diet
Lost 6 lbs my first week
I cannot get Anthem BCBS to pay for this drug. I'm at my wits end. Any suggestions on how to get my insurance to cover the cost of this medication?
I have lost 25lbs in about 5 months on Wegovy.
body weight includes muscle loss
Sad that you haven’t mentioned the lean mass reduction in your videos. Wish more doctors who prescribe for a fee would be more open about this and also addressing food addictions.
Like a big, “Ooooops, forgot to mention, in trial there was also a 40% lean mass reduction.” Tell the whole truth. Post the trial(s) and every single one of the graphs (don’t just pick and choose the ones that will sell the injection).
There is more to the story. Tell it all. Tell people how the fat cells multiply and what actually happens when they stop the injections (and have not addressed their food addictions).
Where’s a study showing the fat cells multiply?
Found the personal trainer losing money off this, if you have a smart doctor they tell you this and they tell you to do weight training for this reason
Crazy depression on this drug! Like a dark, creeping anxiety feeling, this happened after the first shot of Wegovy. Seems to be subsiding but it has frightened me....
70lbs in 5 months or 26% of my weight 🤔
Are there some people this stuff just doesn't work with? I swear I feel nothing even at the highest Doses and have not lost weight
How do you get it
Your doctor will prescribe it
I don't have a doctor is there any way I can get it And how do I get a doctor to for me
😂 sounds pointless to me
all these docs getting paid to promote this
It’s a potential problem and something that we should all be aware of. I have never received a single penny from a pharmaceutical company, as it might bias my views. I’m an advocate for weight treatments that work, that’s it. The good news is that physician payments are publicly available and searchable.
@@DrMcGowanMD but it is not against your lisecense and until the medical governance makes a law against those doctors promoting for the sake of $$$ they will continue. In the UK half the GP's got paid 27, 500 each add and would blatantly promote covid vaccines.. now look where we are at with all that... pharmacuiticals (the zombie satanist zianist theifs) have to make their money somehow.. are we going to hear the same about these so called wieght loss drugs after a while........ all of a sudden they blood clots etc... we cannot even trust our own doctors now.. I sugges go on a diet and simpy exercise. The End. Be safe and do not trust any of those pharaceduticals ... so many healthy treatments instead we are pumped drugs.. my god what has this soceity come to its sick for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fasting is free
I wonder how long the nasty side effects of this drug will take to be discovered.
Aaaaaaan then your pancreas decides to stop doing what it was created for. Aaaah we-go-buy buy to you health long term
🎉🎉🎉🎉life style changes must be permanent🎉🎉🎉🎉ozempic will not work without that😢😢😢😢 you cannot outmedic bad food
All that and no answer to the question 🙄
68 weeks
I couldn’t hear a thing because of the loud horrible music. 👎🏻
Want to lose weight????? Stop eating PROCESSED food, quit with SUGAR...you don t need this posion....
Anyone know the name of this tune?
That medication is for people with diabetes not wanting to loose weight being that you are a doctor I would think you would know this and it’s drs like you people who actually need it for diabetes can’t get it smh 🙄🤦🏼♀️
Ozempic is for diabetes and it’s sister Wegovy (approved by FDA for weight loss) it’s for whoever BMII is over 30-35 0r 29 + high cholesterol levels can get this but needs approval by their doctor or a health clinic for weight loss.
@@DrMcGowanMD thank you
My husband is a diabetic and is prescribed ozempic, I am not a diabetic and I was prescribed wegovy.
Similar drugs, similar outcome but one is specifically designed for diabetics and the other is not.
Also there is no shortage, that is a lie cooked up by the media.
Get your protein in before even vegetables. No fruit. Def no processed carbs (including those “protein/healthy bars, women are addicted to)
Don’t take it!
Doesn't worl for everyone....As a food addict,I eat even when not hungry....
Yes Semiglutide Makes me feel Not hungry but the Food addiction is more powerful
I lost 100lbs in less than 2 years
Didn't use any drugs, just tracked my calories
3rd month on wegovy and im down 0 lbs :(
A 300lb person would lose 42 pounds in 68 weeks.
Damn the trolls in the comments 😅. Never take the easy route
Or just go to the gym regularly, and eat in a caloric deficit. Ohhhh wait, most humans are too lazy to get off the couch so people have created weight loss pills. 💀
Weight loss. Not fat loss. Losing all the muscle makes it so much harder when you stop taking it
I went from 275 to 475.. works great!
I don't wanna lose my hair like you
Lol 68 weeks? Dude thats 1 year lol ill rather just weight train and eat less
So people change their diet and lifestyle and lose weight and think its this PLACEBO shot doing all the work. 😂. Interesting.
This is precisely why randomized, placebo controlled studies are required. In the STEP1 clinical trial, patients who used the active semaglutide lost 14.9% of their weight. Those who received the placebo injection (and made the same lifestyle changes) only lost 2.4% of their weight. This type of study “proves” the impact of the study medication over placebo.
lose weight shot injections does it work on people who are not active like eat and sleep never leave the house.
Body weight? As in bone mass and muscle as well? Lol
If you don’t eat don’t you feel weak and tired 🥱 something worries me about this! I’ll just stick to exercise and diet 👍
