About a million years ago (35 actually ) I had a summer job a Merck. My job was to catalogue plant sap samples they had gotten from trees from all over the world. There were enough of them to keep me busy for the summer. I cataloged them and aliquoted them so that scientists could test them for activity against various diseases. So yes, pharma knows that plants are the answer

I went to a low-carb, fasting, and Berberine plan over 4 months ago and I lost over 30 pounds in the first 2 months and another 15 pounds in the next 2 months. I feel much better, and all of the signs of fatty liver went away. I am down 5 sizes in my pants and 2 sizes in my shirts. Berberine has been fantastic for me and I never get hungry and I actually have to remind myself to eat all of the time. I reduced my BP medicine and I expect that I may have to get it adjusted again before I reach my goal of losing another 20 pounds. I am 6 foot tall and started at 235 pounds. Great video.

How are people actually unaware of the fact that this channel is designed specifically for the purpose of advertising.
It’s a medium for pushing drugs and/or practices (with potential equipment) based on the payments this gentleman receives.
This does not discount the factual accuracy of the videos. It’s just deliberately structured to omit the nuance that would destroy the black/white view that’s necessary for this form of marketing to work. The nuance (paying close attention) that will actually make a difference.

I’ve been on the terrazipide injection on & off for about 3ish months..before taking this injection, I’ve suffered from chronic gastritis since I was a teenager. I had bouts of gastroparesis since I had my gallbladder out when I was a teenager. The only side effect I’ve had from the shot is mild constipation & it’s straightened itself out within a day or so. My gastritis has leveled out, zero gastroparesis, I have more energy and feel great. I am 40 pounds down & have 40 more to go. However I do have friends who have taken the shot and suffered a lot of the negative side effects

Doc, I love your channel. But I've tried the berberine, panax ginseng, IF route. It just didn't work for me. My sugar cravings after 3 weeks were through the roof. I was utterly miserable and couldn't stop thinking about food. Though I don't think any one drug is right for every person, some of us need medicines to help. I've been on a wagovy compound for 2 weeks. I've had no side effects and am not constantly thinking about food. I have quite a bit of weight to lose, but I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel . I do want to side note, because of berberine my husband was able to get off of metformin. If someone is borderline or type 2, they should truly give berberine a chance. Thanks for all you do, you have been a blessing many times to me and my family.

The hardest part about dieting--telling your wife that you won't be eating dinner with the family. I changed to a very loose interpretation of intermittent fasting--I cheat often--and have dropped 30 pounds without even thinking about it. It's literally changing my life. Listening to Dr. Berg caused the change, along with talking with my friend who lived through Stage IV cancer, and used fasting as a strategy. Just do it.

My issue with these injectable drugs is that they do little to deal with the psychological aspects of over-eating/binge eating. We all know (many of us from bitter experience) that we are fat and unhealthy because we eat too much of the wrong type of food. High sugar/ultra-processed food is often what we turn to when stressed or in an emotionally fragile place. Changing not only WHAT we eat but how and when we eat is the answer. Recognising the triggers that lead to emotional over-eating is key. An injection won’t help with any of that. Once you stop the injections, you’ll probably just return to the bad eating habits with commensurate weight regain and health issues returning. I will definitely check out the ginseng and berberine!

I tried ozempic. I took it on and off for 4 months. I went from 235 to 188. I stopped it and about a year later I was up to 225. So I did it again for about 3 months. But this time I only got down to 211. I also was eating zofran like M&M’s! My hair was very long coarse and super thick. I loved my hair! But it started breaking off just below my shoulders and falling out. I have 1/3 of the hair I had. It won’t get any longer and for about a year it went from straight to kinky fuzzy! I refused to go anywhere for a year because I was so ashamed. But the worst part was the last shot put me in the bed for 6 weeks! If I rolled over I felt like I was going to throw up. Going to the bathroom I felt like I was going to pass out and would have to sit down halfway there and back. I’ve never been that miserable in my life! I was beginning to think I was gonna die. It scared me so bad I’ll NEVER take it again! I usually don’t take any meds until they’ve been on the market for a few years so we know more about them. But after turning 40 my usual calorie counting wasn’t working. I just couldn’t get the weight off I’d gained since turning 40. I’ve never been overweight! Until 40. I’m disabled now because I developed lupus at age 32. I don’t see my friends that often because they work. I didn’t want anyone to see me. I just knew they would be thinking, wow! She’s really let herself go. But what I went thru with Ozempic was way worse than my embarrassment over the weight gain. I’m going to try the berberine and panax ginseng. I’m also going to start a carnivore diet. I’ve been researching it a lot and some people get 100% relief from their autoimmune disease. Plus they say the energy levels skyrocket. I need all of that! I just wish I could find a local farmer who raised cattle without antibiotics, hormones, & steroids. I’ve found some online but just ground beef is $10 per pound. I just can’t afford that. I’ll do the best I can with store bought. If you are considering Ozempic just for weight loss find something else. It’s not worth it!

Hi Dr. Berg. I think one piece of the puzzle is the nutrients. Some people eat to find the missing nutrient or vitamin to fill the void. I found Fish Oil (Omega 3) was something that also will help. A balanced diet is good as long as you find the nutrients/vitamins that may be missed.

If you continue you might end up getting severely lacking nutrition aka become malnourished and suffering deficiency of vit, minerals, protein and essential amino acid & fatty acids. I am grateful that it gave me a head start and it made me realize I can do this - I felt I was hopeless. I have been off it for three weeks and my GI system is going crazy but hopefully it will settle down as time goes on. I am in a way better mood and have more energy. I still have the effects of being able to eat less food. I still have 40 pounds to go and I hope by not being so tired and actually wanting to move that I will achieve this goal. Really good suggestions! As someone who’s struggled with weight issues since having kids, oldest is 12, I’ve come to know that giving types of diet suggestions to some people isn’t the solution because there are so many underlying issues that aren’t just about food but rather psychological connections to eating a certain way. Those problems have to be resolved before any meal plan fixing the obesity problem. For me, taking an off brand form of ozempic has given me a glimmer of faith that has shown me that weight loss is not hopeless, and it’s only been two months. I’ve been able to largely overcome a few of my emotional eating habits and have seen that I can replace those weak moments other things that being fulfillment, like new hobbies or just eating a smaller snack and learning that’s enough. I have a long way to go, but I don’t plan on being on the meds for an extended period of time in order to avoid some of the effects people report. But for me, I needed something that wasn’t just about what I eat, but giving me a glimmer of hope that my life outlook could change and I already feel that much better.

My conclusion is that this ozempic is good for people who eat a lot and not have other complications like high kortisol etc. I have multidiseases and I never eat much but became fat because of other diseases, protein leakage, high bloodsugar and pressure, big fat liver, gall stones, a lot nodules in my thyroid, vitamin and deficiency, inflammation, acl rupture in both knees and no meniscus so I can't walk long or rapid. I started taking Ozempic but was only able to do it for a month because my insurance wouldn't cover it. They denied me coverage because I didn't have any other health issues associated with obesity. I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure so I'm too healthy for it, apparently. I've already been on keto for well over a year but I am going to try taking Berberine and Ginseng.
