Aline Piroutek Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean. Who is we? Legally you definitely can buy used games online from Japan and let them send the games to you, wherever you live. BUT the problem with used games online is, most only ship locally. That is the same with used games on amazon US for example too though and is more a problem with sellers that don’t want the hassle of selling outside of their territory to avoid language barriers, issues with the buyer and the fear of a bad review/rating. If you need used games from Japan though, I can sell and send them to you. Would take some money for my troubles though. ;)
The Japanese version Rockman X Anniversary Collection 1 and 2 (Switch) come with their own physical versions but you must purchase the stand-alone copies (the Combo Pack only comes with Collection 1 in physical and 2 with a download code - same as the US version). As of release date today, it is available on Amazon.co.jp and they ship to the U.S.
Putting the fact that they've gone for the SNES original version of X3 aside, my main criticism would be the omission of one game, namely Mega Man X: Command Mission! It might not be a 'numbered' game, or like the other games, but if Battle & Chase, Power Battles and Power Fighters have been worthy of previous collections, then SURELY Command Mission deserved to be considered?
Gladson MF, you’re gonna have to buy the Japanese versions of these collections for those Japanese songs, apparently. At least that’s what I’ve heard, I’m importing the individual Switch versions and will find out once I get them in the mail.
Some point -(s)- to add: - The Switch is getting a physical X Legacy Collection 2 (Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2) in Japan - while their 1+2 bundle is the same as in the west, the standalone copy of the second collection has the game on a physical game card, apparently. - -The 2006 X Collection only ran in 240p through Component video - on RGB Scart and others, it was still 480i, and I think the game selection menu is always 480i (for what that's worth)- Looks like I made a mistake.
[Coury] Is that 240p RGB info confirmed? Because the off CRT comparison I did was using a PS2 with RGB and it was 240p. Game menu and Save menu is indeed 480i for everything.
-Actually, it might be 240p on RGB. I only have the gear to check Composite and S-Vid, I had just kind of assumed it handled RGB the same since you only hear people online talking about 240p and Component (but that's probably since the game was never released outside of the States)- Actually, I did some quick tests and it seems to be 240p on Composite and S-Video as well? Has my entire life been a lie?
Haseo Reviews Flash is good, but it’s notorious for many shod-jobs. Flash is meant to be an assistant to hand drawn animation, not the other way around.
One sound issue I've noticed so far is that a few of the sound effects in X4 are a bit higher pitched in the Legacy Collection than they were in the original PS1 version. Nothing distractingly awful like the messed up voice clips for the bosses in the Anniversary Collection version of Mega Man 8, but I couldn't help but notice it because I've played X4 more times than necessary.
I bought them but I've just played X4 and it has input lag. If you are a fan of that game and lag worries you a lot you should take that in consideration. I've finished that game when I was a kid hundreds of times and the lag was pretty noticeable even though I haven't played in a decade or so
I think you might be able to fit them both on one DVD. The thing is, most of the X-games were released on CDs, and 4 CDs fills more than half of a DVD. With the rest of the collection content and the last 5 games would probably fill an entire single layer DVD. But you could definitely fit everything on a double layer DVD, or a Blu-ray Disc like most game consoles use these days. *EDIT:* Actually, including all that extra stuff like the movie and gallery and all that museum stuff could fill a double layer DVD completely, but that’s only an issue for the Nintendo switch with its tiny memory cards, it’d still fit easily on a Blu-ray Disc like the rest of the game consoles currently use. *EDIT EDIT:* Actualky, X7 & X8 were on DVDs, weren’t they? If they were included, plus everything else, they might struggle to fit all on one Blu-day disc, depending on whether X7 & X8 both used dual-layer DVDs. I still expect that with modern compression, it could all be crammed onto one disc, but 2 discs would give Capcom more space for extra features.
Excellent video as always! This is definitely the most robust review of the collection available. Also, as a shmup fan, I have to say keep your eye out for the M2 ketsui port later this year. M2 always seem to do great work.
I was lead artist on the Atomic planet version. Wow, that was a long time ago. :) Don't shoot me though, hahah. This was the early days of official emulation releases. It was going to have a fully 3d menu system but we scrapped it at the last minute and recreated a platformer style system, which looking back is a pain in the arse.
Fantastic video guys! Love the channel! Im a HUGE MegaMan nut, Im a massive importer and have been for 25 years or more. I recently got the MegaManX 1+2 collections for my Switch (have a big soft spot for Nintendo) from PlayAsia, agreed about the split of the collections why this wasn't on 1 disc or cart is baffling! I imported part 1 and 2 from Japan that way you have 2 carts not like it is for Europe or the US - part 1 on cart part 2 download. Also X4 on the Switch has the Japanese RockManX4 music as well as the MegaManX4 music!
Confirmed, since I bought the JP version for my Switch from Play-Asia, it has the JP OP and ED tracks but the opening is edited to prevent showing the final salute for sensibility reasons.
I feel it’s a really dumb and cheap move to not just include everything in the physical version but require gamers to download it. Physical gamers might be the minority these days but that’s cause we really care about stuff like actually owning our full games. Cheaping out on that just gives us even less reason to care about physical releases.
As for me, I prefer 16:9 over 4:3, especially for retro games and I also prefer “sharp” images over “smooth”. I like “sharp” and “16:9”, that’s my preference. Some may agree, some disagree.
I just got the PS4 version, and there IS a bit of input lag, that is noticable if you have played the originals or the ps2/gcn versions. I'd recommend either the PS2/GCN versions if you want the best experience. That being said, these collections are still very good overall.
Glad to see and hear that the Legacy Collection worked out so well. Wished X3 had some of those FMVs I hear about, but I'm not really complaining that much.
MoonSpirit People complained that X3 on the MMX Collection on PS2/GC was the PS1 Version as opposed to the SNES Version, I'm guessing thats why they used the SNES Version this time around.
It would have literally taken a day to code and put both versions together for people to have both options, but then again it's Capcom. The original X collection on PS2 is only 10 bucks, you might as well grab that if it's a dealbreaker.
The different languages are also part of the Japanese release, the only differences are the fact the Japanese songs are included in the music player or when playing the PS1 and PS2 releases in Japanese. Another difference is that while the opening and ending for X6 and X7's ending were replaced in the English release, they are included if playing the English version in the Japanese release.
I've been playing through them on my channel. I've noticed there is some imput glitches during MMX3 so far. I've noticed the game not recognizing my jump or air dash.
I have the Japanese versions of X legacy collection for the switch and you get the japanese music when you change the language to japanese. This only works if you play the games from the japanese cartridges or download the games from the japanese eshop.
I tried it out! But it's already hard and expensive to have a physical copy here in Brazil buying from anywhere in America, imagine importing from Japan? Customs and shipping will crush our souls! ☠️
Give us a heads up on the music intro. I heard the Japanese version retains the OST but let us know if this is true or not. I wouldn't mind picking the physical copies as well.
One specific thing not mentioned in the video is the X3 on the Legacy Collection for Switch and PS4 is the Snes port of the game which doesn't include the amazing anime cutscenes of the Saturn version. You only mentioned the cd audio. The cutscenes are however included in the Mega Man X Collection on PS2. This was a huge deal to me as I am a huge fan of the X anime cutscenes in all the games that had them. Other than that fantastic video! I have both collections but for me the PS2 X collection on a PVM rains supreme with 240p native support and all the anime cutscenes included plus X1-6 are all on one disc. X7 and 8 are missing from the collection but honestly they weren't that great in opinion. Lastly as of posting this comment you still purchase a new copy of the PS2 Mega Man X collection for only 14 bucks on Amazon.
It's nice to see this looks and plays well. Shame about it being split into two. It makes little sense, particularly when talking about the PS4 and Xbox One versions. That X Challenge looks awesome though, I think that's going to be the big selling point for me personally.
My Life in Gaming oh shit! I’m so pumped. I get these videos take an insane amount of work not to mention having to do regular life shit. Thanks for the reply I’m so excited!
I would like to make a suggestion. I would like to see more of this about various differences on classic franchises. So I suggest it would be like "Collectors guide" type of thing. This video helped me decide which collection is best for me and so much information its wonderful. Keep it up guys!
Much like with the first set of collections should have done with Powered Up, Capcom really should have included the psp version of the firsts game, Maverick Hunter X, it's especially interesting they don't considering they include the Day of Sigma which was an anime prequel to that game, not really matching up with x2 onward.
"No save-state support". I can probably understand the PS1 and PS2 era MMX games, but not giving the SNES MMX games that option at all? Yeah, no. Sorry Capcom, but that's not happening for me.
About the Mega Man X collection being sharper on PS2 than gamecube because of the forced flicker filter, I think it is disabled if you force a resolution through Swiss when you launch the game, meaning it will look just as good as PS2. EDIT: Meant Deflicker, not flicker filter
What is the best integer scaling option for 720p displays? Should screen type 1 "fit" be used since 240p scales perfectly to 720p, and does it display it properly?
[Try4ce] Well, not that exactly, but in about a week or less, I should be finishing up a video about gaming on 4K TVs that I've been working on for nearly 2 months. It encompasses everything from retro to modern, so hopefully it has some relevant info for you.
I love the japanese anime cut scenes in mmx3 and mmx4 for PS back then. I have the PS4 mmx collection now and there is something a bit off on the controls but nothing game breaking. Wonder if the switch version have better response on the controls.
In some ways, I actually disagree with you saying they treated the X series well with these collections. This is mainly because of a lot of the cut content from X3 and onward. It pretty much ruins the more authentic experience for those who are either used to it (the guns 'n roses names in X5, censoring in X4 with the opening and dialogue in others) or for those who want that experience. It just feels like it went too overboard with removing the "sensitive" stuff. Maybe it can be excusable to a degree in X7 and X8 since there's no other way to play them aside from actually owning the PS2 console and discs, but the rest, not exactly. X is the "mature" Mega Man experience (heck, the games are given T ratings) so they should have treated it more that way, without it lacking a lot of key content each title's known for. That's all I got on it.
Great work as always guys, I greatly appreciate you being a reliably thorough source of critique on these retro releases :) Yeah the lack of 4k support continues to be such a shame on these console compilations, I'm guessing it just falls outside of budget + time limitations or just isn't seen as a top priority. I don't own X6-8 in any form so may grab the 2nd collection on PC, hopefully it'll support higher resolutions there without issue. It'll be especially neat if the PS2 entries can be rendered at 4k!
Just like to mention one key difference about X7: The Japanese version in the collection appears to retain the Japanese damage tables (which are stronger, making bosses significantly easier). X6 I’ve heard is actually just the US version running with Japanese text, so no JPN exclusive glitches. X8 also patched a few glitches like the underflow money trick and hovering.
This was an unexpected treat guys. I was just thinking myself that including Maverick Hunter X would have been a nice bonus but I kinda figured it wouldn't be there. At least they have the Day of Z video though. Great video to watch before I play these games all over again. I'm not looking forward to replaying X5 through X7 though lol.
you are right, in the American version the Japanese songs that would be on the PS1-2 games aren’t included due to copyright, they might be available on the Japanese versions of the legacy collections
X1 X2 and X3 have bad input lag on the PS4. I can't even do Iceless Hearttank with Boomer Kuwanger stage its so bad. (Which means doing a dash jump and grabbing the far half pixel on the other side.) And having filters on makes it even WORST! BUT! X4 and onward is perfect input lag wise.
This is a really good collection and hopefully means that we may get a new tittle in the style of Megaman 11. I did like the FMV from MMX3 from previous collection, but the sound effects and music was a miss for me, so I'm glad we got the SNES ver here. One thing I noticed on this one was that the intro for MMX4 was censored. At some point during the intro General does a salute that is very reminiscent to the "nazi salute". They actually slowed parts of the intro to omit it completely. That was something I found curious and worth noting. I don't know if this was also censored on the PS2 Collection.
No, with save states its completely different game. Also, you should be able to beat any level with default mega buster, special weapons for each boss are only for boss rush at the final level, not for casual playthrough.
@Poison says person who played with save states, and after 10 years of playing different mega man games with quick saves, finally playing it without them
Christian Chavez Make sure you get the proper emulators! Beetle PSX for X3-6, and higan for X1-3. These will give a proper experience similar to real hardware.
Get the original X collection on PS2, it's like 10 bucks and the games play fine. Unless the SNES soundtrack on X3 is a total dealbreaker to you, then there's no reason not to get it.
Now we need a Zero collection that would have the first one with Z1-3 and then Z4, ZX, then ZXA? I think it would sell pretty well, I've never played any of the Zero series but it looks like a lot of fun and would enjoy to see it on the newest gen of consoles since I dont feel like spending $50 on a DS copy

I have the Mega Man collection for PS2 and the last time i played a few games on it i noticed the picture quality of the games is not the best. I might get this collection to play MM games on a modern gaming console. Great very detailed review!
More like the quality of the screen you're using is not the best for the ps2 version lol. I use a 750 tv line PVM monitor via RGB and the ps2 collection looks STUNNING!
Sadly, these in house developed collections play really bad. Ps4 version has 3-4 extra frames of input lag over the snes classic version, which is 1frame slower than the real hardware. That is a major problem. Test results below: twitter.com/noodalls/status/1021665450462076928?s=19
5:37: The xbox version at least has the correct button-mapping, right? Also, in the comparison here, the 480p xbox version looked way sharper to me than the PS2 & GCN versions.
I think it’s so if you want just 1-4 (in my opinion I would) you could buy that separately. I ended up buying both, but if I had to chose I’m glad I have the option
Because they don't want to sell any copies of X Legacy Collection 2 and/or they want X1-4 to get the 2018 Metacritic scores that they deserve without the rest of the series' riffraff stinking up the place?
I recently played through the entire Mega Man series. I bought both legacy collections. I played through MM1 to MM11 and then played through X1-X8. Took me about 5 months off and on. At less than $30, the Legacy Collection and MM11 is a tremendous value. My favorites are MM1, MM2, MM9, MM11 , X, X4 and X5. My least favorites are MM3, MMX3 and MM6. It’s like reading through a novel with great chapters, bad chapters and horrible chapters. Fix the camera angles in X7 and it is not so bad. Use Ultimate Armor in X4, X5, X6 and X8 and they aren’t so bad. My problem is that a number of these games weren’t play tested well. These games should have had save files/ passwords that store the state of your energy tanks as well as weapons. If you use your energy tanks and somehow die into a continue, you must grind until you refill them. That’s a waste of time especially when there are so many instant death traps. I didn’t miss the REWIND BUTTON too much. After all, many times rewinding won’t help much because too much time passes due to dialogue or cutscenes. I play these games on STEAM using my laptop. These classic games are perfect for travel on a laptop or STEAM portable.
well in the switch version of the x legacy collection there is notorious input lag, so keep in mind in which platform this legacy collection has less input lag.
I'm a bit shocked that it wasn't mentioned that music in the PS2 collection doesn't even properly loop. There's a fade-out and repeat in the SNES games.
Honestly I own this game on switch and was still perplexed as to why Switch owners are forced to download part 2 and not fit both games on one cart or disc for all consoles. Based on the file size listed on eshop, it could fit both on the switch cart and it's not even a question to ask about a blu-ray disc since combined it equals under 16GB. Other than that, I also agree that the PSP game should have been on here including Mega Man X Command Mission. Two games which many may not have played for various reasons. (Don't get me started on the Gameboy Xtreme Games) This is a legacy collection after all, including as much as you can would be a better way to celebrate the series. Same goes for the other collection by digital eclipse. 6 NES games and 4 "multi-platform games across two collections with one $15 and other $20, they could least included the two arcade games or gameboy ones. Though I do appreciate the video, thanks for making it and I do think that there is some short comings for a modern compilation about the game having savestates or rewind emulation features but it still seem like a bit more effort put into the overall presentation in trying to hook nostalgia players and new players in with the vast museum contents, rookie mode and x challenge.

Would take some money for my troubles though. ;)
Great stuff, I hope to pick these up soon
Konami take note and make a Castlevania Legacy Collection
Lol... Kuntami has changed for the worst... I don't think they will listen to a smart person like you lol.
Legacy Collection 1 can be all the Classicvanias (But include PC Engine Rondo, not PSP), Legacy Collection 2 can be all the Igavanias.
That could work
But knowing Konami they will give us a Castlevania Legacy collection Pachinko instead xD
Guess we ended up getting Requiem lol.
Also available on play-asia.com too!
Same, but also adding the Maverick Hunter X game too.
Do you know if they scale the 240p games to 720p on Switch in handheld mode? Might be a good advantage
excadrillo99 Maybe digital foundry would do that since they have that Switch capture mod.
Did you got the answer?
"The region can be selected for each game", I get excited as I remember the intro for Rockman X4, "the intro song for MMX4 is not here though", :(
Gladson MF, you’re gonna have to buy the Japanese versions of these collections for those Japanese songs, apparently. At least that’s what I’ve heard, I’m importing the individual Switch versions and will find out once I get them in the mail.
JoeCoolMaverick On PC, you’ll need to mod the game.
Some point -(s)- to add:
- The Switch is getting a physical X Legacy Collection 2 (Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2) in Japan - while their 1+2 bundle is the same as in the west, the standalone copy of the second collection has the game on a physical game card, apparently.
I only have the gear to check Composite and S-Vid, I had just kind of assumed it handled RGB the same since you only hear people online talking about 240p and Component (but that's probably since the game was never released outside of the States)-
Actually, I did some quick tests and it seems to be 240p on Composite and S-Video as well? Has my entire life been a lie?
This is wonderful guys 👏
Great video! I love how you offered advanced tech info i.e. Video resolutions and scaling.
12:16 2019 and there still isn't "turbo mode" on X Legacy Collection, a huge letdown, even PS2 had it.
That "smooth" filter is giving me Mega Man X iOS flashbacks, where everything looked like it was drawn in Flash. No me gusta.
Haseo Reviews i honestly would’ve loved it if it ran at a smooth 60fps
Haseo Reviews Flash is good, but it’s notorious for many shod-jobs. Flash is meant to be an assistant to hand drawn animation, not the other way around.
hah- no *no NOOO gets vietnam flashbacks*
Wow. Never caught a My Life In Gaming video within 11min of upload. Sweet. :D
One sound issue I've noticed so far is that a few of the sound effects in X4 are a bit higher pitched in the Legacy Collection than they were in the original PS1 version. Nothing distractingly awful like the messed up voice clips for the bosses in the Anniversary Collection version of Mega Man 8, but I couldn't help but notice it because I've played X4 more times than necessary.
dude, x4 was the peak of the series. especially with zero fully maxed out wreaking havoc!
I bought them but I've just played X4 and it has input lag. If you are a fan of that game and lag worries you a lot you should take that in consideration. I've finished that game when I was a kid hundreds of times and the lag was pretty noticeable even though I haven't played in a decade or so
Hello I want to play X4 well but not with bad lag... So what system did you purchase your mega man collection for?
I think the CD music was better on X3. But then again I played that one first on PS1 and only went back to the snes later.
You guys are truly the best retro gaming channel on YT.
Happy for you guys that you were able to get this out day 1. Hope this blows up on some websites you guys deserve it.
How did you find the input lag?
I've seen report of up to 10frames of lag on Mega Man X on PS4P and XB1X
I've been playing through them on my channel. I've noticed there is some imput glitches during MMX3 so far. I've noticed the game not recognizing my jump or air dash.
I have the Japanese versions of X legacy collection for the switch and you get the japanese music when you change the language to japanese. This only works if you play the games from the japanese cartridges or download the games from the japanese eshop.
"Download only" - CAPCOM really hates NS owners =/
I pre-ordered the Japanese version because of this. Seeing the option to swap between languages is nice.
I tried it out! But it's already hard and expensive to have a physical copy here in Brazil buying from anywhere in America, imagine importing from Japan? Customs and shipping will crush our souls! ☠️
Cost me $62 USD for both physical copies to be shipped from Japan to East Coast USA.
Give us a heads up on the music intro. I heard the Japanese version retains the OST but let us know if this is true or not. I wouldn't mind picking the physical copies as well.
Dhin Cardoso The Switch Games are a round 80 dollars in Brazil
Great video guys! and pre congratulations to the imminent 100k subs goal! well earned
Gamers Reckoning yup I own the x collection on the PS2 no need to get a switch one imo.😂
It's nice to see this looks and plays well. Shame about it being split into two. It makes little sense, particularly when talking about the PS4 and Xbox One versions. That X Challenge looks awesome though, I think that's going to be the big selling point for me personally.
Finally a new video. I literally die for these videos. Sad it’s gonna be another 6 months until the next rgb though :P
[Coury] we did a lot of traveling in the last month so it was tough to make stuff work. Look for a new RGB episode next week!
My Life in Gaming oh shit! I’m so pumped. I get these videos take an insane amount of work not to mention having to do regular life shit. Thanks for the reply I’m so excited!
Excelent video! Nobody has been upload a video like this, very complete!
I would like to make a suggestion. I would like to see more of this about various differences on classic franchises. So I suggest it would be like "Collectors guide" type of thing. This video helped me decide which collection is best for me and so much information its wonderful. Keep it up guys!
If you have both collections are you able to switch between them on the menus or do they work entirely independent of each other?
[Coury] separate installs. Kind of annoying going back and forth to capture certain things for this episode haha
Much like with the first set of collections should have done with Powered Up, Capcom really should have included the psp version of the firsts game, Maverick Hunter X, it's especially interesting they don't considering they include the Day of Sigma which was an anime prequel to that game, not really matching up with x2 onward.
X Collection 2 is on a cartridge in Japan. I'll be importing it since the Switch is region free and you can select English for the audio
Does it give you free music like megaman classic collection 1
"No save-state support".
I can probably understand the PS1 and PS2 era MMX games, but not giving the SNES MMX games that option at all? Yeah, no. Sorry Capcom, but that's not happening for me.
About the Mega Man X collection being sharper on PS2 than gamecube because of the forced flicker filter, I think it is disabled if you force a resolution through Swiss when you launch the game, meaning it will look just as good as PS2.
EDIT: Meant Deflicker, not flicker filter
It's not a flicker filter to begin with.
Extrems' Corner Can you elaborate please?
Extrems' Corner Sorry, I meant a deflicker filter.
It's not a deflicker filter and Swiss won't help you with this.
Extrems' Corner Oh okay, can you explain what it is then? I am curious.
What is the best integer scaling option for 720p displays? Should screen type 1 "fit" be used since 240p scales perfectly to 720p, and does it display it properly?
Can you guys do a video on the most optimal HDTVs for retro gaming?
[Try4ce] Well, not that exactly, but in about a week or less, I should be finishing up a video about gaming on 4K TVs that I've been working on for nearly 2 months. It encompasses everything from retro to modern, so hopefully it has some relevant info for you.
I love the japanese anime cut scenes in mmx3 and mmx4 for PS back then. I have the PS4 mmx collection now and there is something a bit off on the controls but nothing game breaking. Wonder if the switch version have better response on the controls.
For the Japanese intro, you need to have an Japanese version of the mmx legacy collection. Either physical or digital.
1:35 what music is playing?
Great work as always guys, I greatly appreciate you being a reliably thorough source of critique on these retro releases :)
Yeah the lack of 4k support continues to be such a shame on these console compilations, I'm guessing it just falls outside of budget + time limitations or just isn't seen as a top priority. I don't own X6-8 in any form so may grab the 2nd collection on PC, hopefully it'll support higher resolutions there without issue. It'll be especially neat if the PS2 entries can be rendered at 4k!
Even though theres no save state, can you still save your progress between levels?
Really well written and produced video. Absolute props.
mega man x4 was an AMAZING game on the saturn
Just like to mention one key difference about X7: The Japanese version in the collection appears to retain the Japanese damage tables (which are stronger, making bosses significantly easier). X6 I’ve heard is actually just the US version running with Japanese text, so no JPN exclusive glitches. X8 also patched a few glitches like the underflow money trick and hovering.
Will there be a physical release for the XB1 or PS4?
6:37 wait, this wasn’t a hardware problem, right? Cause the GameBoy player forced in 240p does not look that bad.
[Try4ce] It's just got that filter applied. I forget if Swiss can disable it possibly. But that's how it is by default.
At 7:30 is that a diagonal frame tear I'm seeing or have I lost my mind? Like RetroArch sometimes does? ua-cam.com/video/T1n7QoDL0-8/v-deo.html
Anyone know a good forum where you can ask really technical questions about video quality, capture cards, etc.? Thanks.
you are right, in the American version the Japanese songs that would be on the PS1-2 games aren’t included due to copyright, they might be available on the Japanese versions of the legacy collections
I wonder if that also affects the JP version of X4 on the same collection.
You can save on the password screens.
DUFF McWHALEN
I prefer emulating the originals just for save states. I’m a casual gamer.
save states are a MUST for casual gamers. no working responsible adult has the time to sit and play games all day.
No, with save states its completely different game. Also, you should be able to beat any level with default mega buster, special weapons for each boss are only for boss rush at the final level, not for casual playthrough.
@Poison says person who played with save states, and after 10 years of playing different mega man games with quick saves, finally playing it without them
What
Christian Chavez Make sure you get the proper emulators! Beetle PSX for X3-6, and higan for X1-3. These will give a proper experience similar to real hardware.
Worth getting this on the next gen systems? I have a PS2 and just got a gamecube.. not willing to shell out the money for the originals lol
Get the original X collection on PS2, it's like 10 bucks and the games play fine. Unless the SNES soundtrack on X3 is a total dealbreaker to you, then there's no reason not to get it.
what optimal settings should i pick for mega man zx collection?
This is my first time watching a video in this channel. The content looks promising. You got yourself a new subscriber/fan 😉
@Dr Ghostmask holy hell, did I really call the collection? Thats sick
@Dr Ghostmask oh I'm well aware, I instantly got the collection and beat every game on it multiple times
For those with a problem with the steam version. Capcom US has an official steam account and they have created topics to report problems.
Go report your problem here and follow the instructions:
For Mega Man X Legacy Collection =>

For Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 => steamcommunity.com/app/743900/discussions/2/1762481957305513743/
Did you guys cover the other collection you kept mentioning
I love the music from the channel, it really takes me back to the early 90s
I have the Mega Man collection for PS2 and the last time i played a few games on it i noticed the picture quality of the games is not the best. I might get this collection to play MM games on a modern gaming console. Great very detailed review!
More like the quality of the screen you're using is not the best for the ps2 version lol. I use a 750 tv line PVM monitor via RGB and the ps2 collection looks STUNNING!
Good for you.
Amazing review! I really appreciate your time and effort into making this video!
Sadly, these in house developed collections play really bad. Ps4 version has 3-4 extra frames of input lag over the snes classic version, which is 1frame slower than the real hardware. That is a major problem.
Test results below:
twitter.com/noodalls/status/1021665450462076928?s=19
Keep up the good work! These videos are very fun to watch!
It's gonna be a sweet collection for sure!
5:37: The xbox version at least has the correct button-mapping, right? Also, in the comparison here, the 480p xbox version looked way sharper to me than the PS2 & GCN versions.
Excellent video, excellent editing. Congratulations!
dont know why it was split. maybe money???
There's just no other reason :/
So you can get X1-4 right away, and then wait for X5-8 to go on sale because X6 and X7 aren't worth it.
X8 is actually good though. X7 is only totally awful because of the voice acting
PS2 uses lengthy streams for the music, the system can't read the original loop data.
Hellraiser Gordon Odd.
I wonder if the GameCube has this issue, as it has audio RAM and capabilities to loop music properly, like in Wind Waker.
