      It is hard at the beginning and no normal to worry! Eventually that goes away and you feel empowered by listening to your own voice and opinion and by giving it the most weight!

    Thank you so much for this video ❤ I start my silver hair transition in a few days. I will color correct my brown colored hair, and get some highlights put in to make the transition a bit easier for me, but I’m approaching my mid 50ies, and I’m getting tired of the grey roots, and repeated coloring , of my hair. Even though I’ve been really happy with my color, the brown around my face has finally cooled down enough so the transition is easier for me to do. The top of my head has been salt and pepper for a while. Very strange combo. So I thank all the silver sisters here on UA-cam for giving me the courage to start, and advice to make it as seamless as possible, so I have a chance to succeed ❤

    I am a year in and noone has said anything negative. I planned to say"yes, mother nature decided to give me a makeover"if I got a negative remark, but so far nothing! One person said my hair looks great.

    Hi Amanda - you look stunning. I too decided to embrace my natural two years ago - the only good thing that came out of Covid. I reached out to a couple friends who had taken this journey and they were so supportive. I was so surprised at how many compliments I received from so many friends who told me how brave I was! It was funny as I didn't see myself as brave I just felt the time was NOW. Its been exciting to watch the transition I had this umbro look and people thought I was colouring it! I have been blessed my hair is a silver colour. Everyone has asked me if I coloured it to this natural! My hairdresser strongly advised against any colouring or highlights and I am so pleased I stuck with it. It is truly liberating, and my hair has never been healthier. To all the wonderful ladies out there - I would say GO FOR IT - you will love it. I never went through a bad day where I regretted my decision - I just loved seeing the changes. As to the naysayers, I had one friend tell me "I didn't like your hair at first but now I LOVE it and am envious" -

    I'm still in the consideration phase of "silvering." Your videos not only address the practical ways to do this, they address the internal change occurring through the process. Thank you for sharing insight from your journey. It's much appreciated and quite a joy to watch. You're repping women in such a powerful and authentic way.

      thank you for the encouraging comment!! I "considered" for sometime too! You really have to be ready. Normalizing seeing grey hair as beautiful, and following a ton on silversisters on IG helped me alot!

      I'm very pale and thought I would sort of disappear with grey hair, but I actually look healthier. And it's a reversable process. If you try it and it's not for you yet you can go back to the colour you have now.

    Thanks for your video. I’m just starting my journey. I’m soon to be 66 years old and I started having gray hairs in 20’s so I’ve colored my hair a very long time. I found the silver sisters on you tube. Your hair is beautiful and I smile at my part and temple seeing the very slow growth.

    I regret that I ever colored my hair. The natural transition was probably very pretty and I missed it. Plus, I was as white as you when I did transition. I’m still not over the shock of it and it’s been 6 years. It’s been incredibly hard to get used to. I’m embarrassed to see friends who haven’t seen the transition. I think I look old. I have struggled! I won’t be a slave to coloring again. It’s getting easier to look in the mirror. I haven’t experienced all the wonderful feelings I hear many women say they feel. The only thing about getting older is I get to slowly start my day and sip a cup of coffee at my leisure because I don’t have to work.

    • @amandasilversister
      @amandasilversister  5 місяців тому +2

      I regret I ever started covering up my greys too!! The natural transition would have been so sudtle and natural!! 6 years and you still don't love it? Oh I am sorry to hear that! You should never feel embarrassed about being authentic my dear. I envy your slow mornings... when I get those I love reading and doing some paint by numbers ( these help with my mindfullness) I have a feeling you don't see in yourself what others do! xo

    I haven’t colored mine in 4 1/2 months . After a couple of concerned thinning hair comments, I made the decision to try it two days before my 49th birthday in hopes that it will help the quality of my hair & scalp. Being a hairstylist, I never would have thought I would do this, but here goes & I hope I get away with it lol.

    Hello from France 🇫🇷 Thanks for this video, and also for your’instagram posts which really helped me. I am 13 months in, almost fully transitioned, hair about chin lenghth. All You say is very True, there is no way I could have made it without the silver sisters. I actually started following them before I ditched the dye. I love seeing how bright colors look amazing on you, it is very inspiring to me and see how after you cut your hair it grew also lovely☺. I also started wearing make up throughout the journey and I love it! I realize now that I see photos of me with the dye that my face looks brighter and that dye darkened my features. My face looks healthier , if it makes sense?

    Du siehst wunderschön aus. Ich bin jetzt etwa 5 Monate auf der Reise. Gott sei Dank wachsen meine Haare sehr schnell und ich hoffe es dauert nicht sooo lange. Ich habe langes lockiges Haar, lasse es alle 8 Wochen schneiden. Um den Übergang von fast schwarzen Haaren zu grauen zu erleichtern habe ich blonde Strähnchen gemacht und insgesamt alles aufgehellt. Haare haben es überstanden. Ob das eine gute Entspannung war, weis ich nicht wirklich. Denn sie wachsen nun sehr dunkel mit wundervoll weiß und Silber nach. Aber jetzt bleibt es so und ich freue mich einfach auf die Verwandlung. Ich betone mehr Augen und Lippen und es ist mir völlig egal was andere sagen. Durch meine Locken ist die Transformation auch nicht so schlimm. Ich überlege ob ich nicht auch ein paar Videos mache. Hier in Deutschland gibt es nicht so viel. Ohne deine Videos und die deiner Mitstreiterinen wäre mir die Entscheidung viel schwerer gefallen. Danke😘

    I have a question about using serums on white hair. Do you have a favorite silicone-free product for white hair that does not cause yellowing?
    I also have a itchy scalp that has calmed down after stopping the use of purple shampoos. These shampoos have also caused my hair to be dry and I’ve lost my natural curls. So I’m looking for a safe treatment for my scalp.
    Thank you for your recommendations!
    Blessings, Karen

      This is a great question!! I think for me it was about 4 inches of grow out I started to see how much was white and how much was not changing colour. It was only then I could sort of start to envision what it was going to look like…. So it depends how fast your hair is growing in too!
