I know this post is from a year ago. Just now discovered and subscribed to your channel. I've been completing white/grey since I was 42 but had been dyeing it forever. I'm 46 now with 2 young teens. And i don't look/act my age. I was married for a long time and then had a relationship that i thought was going to be forever. At 45 I had no idea i would be dating for the first time since i was basically a teenager. Now the men who are hitting me up are super old, and i mean super old. Dare i say, at least 15 years older than me. And it is disheartening. They are in no way keeping themselves up and are merely looking at me, assuming I'm close to their age because of my hair. Not quite sure how to deal with that aspect because I LOVE my hair! My experience is on the opposite spectrum, and I wanted to share the unfortunate aspect, even though it is not uplifting. However, it is 100% real, not a glorified response.

I have a question, my hair is only silver around my face like a money piece. My hair is all natural and no color at all . Its going to be a long time before its all silver and it just looks like I need to color my hair. Do you recomend coloring it silver? I hate the contrast of my natural warm brown hair and the cool tone silver around my face. Ive been tempted to color my hair lately. Anyone else have hair like this, color is not turning silver but holding onto natural color. I want sparkly silver, light hair.😔

i like the absorbing towelsthey really help. I always air dry I clairfy when I need to dont use purple shampoos havent needed to but I do protect my hair dont use heating tools and wear a hat to protect from the sun.

Thank you Amanda, I’m using Nak purple shampoo and Bondi Boost which are both Australian products, Im 76 and have curly hair which I still have a little blonde colour in it, I’m letting my hair grow to shoulder length and air dry it don’t like products in my hair. Have a great week ✨🌺✨

Your hair and disposition is beautiful glad you came up on my feed. I am just starting my grey journey not too many people are on board, except my husband and my adult daughter. I guess that should be enough for now. Don't give trolls the time of day.

I am 67 and have very few gray hairs. Almost unnoticeable. I would prefer to go gray all at once than this way

It’s important to accept ourselves at each stage of life. It’s good to check in on ourselves mentally , emotionally , physically and see where we can improve but not in a criticizing way but in a healthy way. Good topic Amanda ❤

I'm so mad at my self. I grew my natural hair for11 month. And cave in and dye my hair. I learn that I like my natural hair better. So I growing it our aging. T hanks for the videos.

I've been using Goldwell for a couple of months and started to notice recently that my hair feels really dry. I wasn't sure which product was causing it. Now I know! Thank you! What was the mascara looking product? Also do you know of a purple shampoo that is low scent or unscented?

I’m 55 and don’t like Instagram so please stay here too😅. My environment is not very supportive when it comes to ditch the dye. And moreover I am not very patient with letting it just grow🙈. I would say, my gray will turn out very mousy, not so bright and shiny like yours. But I will try it again (and again😅) …the hardest part is around 6 month 🙈. But your videos are very inspiring to me. Thanks so much

Honestly all the people who talk that way are talking from a place of engrained old beauty standards. For me it I don’t think it looks better but it does not look worse either. My hair has been healthier since I stopped dying. I do not think I look better in photos with the gray but it’s hard to capture the beauty of gray in photos just like a sunset. I also did not like the way the all black dye looked either. It looked like a sharpie marker with no dimension

It makes me feel confident knowing that I am not the only one with gray hair. Everyone has it that is older then me they are just hiding it

I need help. My son’s wedding is coming up and I have thin straight gray hair. I will use rollers to create soft waves but I need help with what product to use to keep the curls for at least 12 hours….while make sure my hair doesn’t look dull. Would love to hear your suggestions

It's been a year and 5 months since I ditched the dye, and I'm almost there...whoop, whoop🙂 I'm really glad I stuck with it. I'm 50, and had been sick of dyeing my hair for a while. Amanda you really helped / inspired me to stop dyeing my hair - will always be thankful to you.😘 I understand that some people might not understand or like that I'm not dyeing my hair but I'm ok with it, it's their problem. Not given any thought as to whether I think it ages me, it def doesn't age you Amanda - you look great, I love your hair! I think generally people still have this perception that if a person has grey hair they are old. (I used to think that too, it was what we were told). I am old. Not dyeing my hair has changed me, I no longer assume that just because someone has grey hair they are old, some are, and some aren't, right? It's been v liberating, and I love not following the crowd (think I always have😊)

I have decided to stop dying my hair. It just feels dry and damaged. Now I need to learn to care for the white/gray coming in. Thanks for this video. I definitely need moisture and need help with my flyaways, mine are by my ears always sticking out, frizzy and curly.

I am a little over a year growing out my salt & pepper hair and I’m loving the transition 🤍🤍🤍 . I just turned 52. None of my girlfriends are willing to go gray and are still coloring their roots. They are not against me growing out my salt and pepper and in fact, some of my friends have told me they love my natural hair. My boyfriend, he’s still trying to adjust.

Hi Amanda, I’m 76 yrs young I have only grown out my dyed hair started October last year have not had the demarcation line because my hair was short and very curly, I only have a few blonde tips now and loving my grey so much it is a mixture of a little silver and darker greys I’m growing it shoulder length first time in my life how much I’m loving it. I’m very much struggling with shampoos, conditioners and masks , yesterday after a mask my hair felt so dry I rewashed it. Going to cost a fortune but still cheaper than colouring. Hi Amanda. I have been watching you for awhile. Just turned 60! Yeah for me. Stopped coloring my hair at age 53. No regrets! I receive positive comments often from all ages , both men and women. Young and old. I try to maintain good weight, eat healthy, stay physically fit. I also work part time, and love it. My goal this decade is to work on my stress, mental health, and relationship with the husband. Looking forward to full retirement. Funny about the drinking, I have cut way back ( love my wine). However, I want to be healthiest I can. I have had fun exploring some of the non alcohol wines out there. Love from CA.

55 now. You had me at 54. 😊. I see pics of me with dyed hair from just a few years ago and I say yuck…who is that? If not for you, I would not have known about purple shampoo. Good advice!! 👍❤
