All your vid's are so helpful but one really does it for me. Suddenly I can put away all my pieces of wood, tiles, slate, acrylic etc. that have sticky notes attached, and some lost. Wish I had found this video sooner. Saves so much time and no more searching for the material on the shelf and finding the post its'. Fantastic job very well explained. Now with 2 lasers it was getting confusing for me. Again so easy now. Keep up with the superb tutorials.
Love your videos they are so helpful. You have a very soothing voice, but I am a type "A" personality and I have to watch your videos at 150% speed. That brings your tempo up to what I grew up with in NYC. Thnks for all the help and I thought you might get a kick out of knowing I have to speed up your speech to keep from going crazy. 🙂
I think so too! I can setup and order and get it on the laser bed usually in under 5 minutes. I save all my projects in the library for future use. Thanks for the insight Sir!
Checking daily for new video. Saw your light switch. I have 3d printed labels for all my light switchs but recently have started printing fancy labeled light switches. Did not realize all the switch, outlet, etc covers I had. You are in for a lot of work but the one you posted looks great.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Haha, well, in my opinion most of the videos on youtube (generally speaking) seem like " click bait " and after watching them I feel like "wow. I just wasted my time again!". You actually add value to a community of creative fellows!
Always watch and rewatch your videos, they are amazing!!!! I've played around for about three months but that was over six months ago so basically I am starting over. The question I have from watching this video again but having some experience is why are there speed and power differences in the same material but for example "dark engrave" vs "dark line". I'm just wondering and probable have the answer right in my face, but why wouldn't the speeds and power settings be the same for dark or light no matter engraving or line. Is it if it has to do with shading if engraving a photograph and not just a simple picture, saying or object of one shade? Thank you.
Thanks again Rich this is so helpful. Question, what lens are you using on some of the settings you describe? Is it the NEJE, stock lens or perhaps the G8? I’m thinking about getting the new double NEJE you demonstrated on another video. Do you still recommend it after more time using it?
Do you have a downloadable library of materials for use with 5.5 watt optical output compressed beam lasers? If so, I'd pay a bit to have a non-zero starting point, please sir?
Material & Art libraries are available to download on my Free Forum for member's only. Any 20W (5W optical) library would work as a good starting point for you John.
Rich, thank for all you do to help us just starting out. The laser world is fairly new to me. LightBurn is total new to me!!!! I just downloaded the trial version and absolutely fail in love with the program. Reminds me of Apsire by Vectric which I have been using with my cnc router for pass 15 years. I have two Muse Core C02 45w lasers dat uses Retina3. I also just just received my 50w JPT Galvo fiber laser dat uses EZCAD2. I tell you these two programs are tip for tap, both are SAP (sorry ass program) in my opinion very limited. Back to LB I decided to load it and give it try because from what I'm hearing they will be releasing LB for the Galvo. Now I kinda which dat I would have waited because I don't wound to do anything more in EZCAD2 LOL. If could find away to replace Retina3 w/LB I would be one happy coonass fer sure! Dude thanks again for all you do. I really appreciate your way of teaching.
Awesome Joseph! This will increase your production by 1 or 200% for sure! The new Lightburn in development is for Fiber, so yeah, big plus there too! I bet you can't wait! 👍
Hi Rich, Yip love your videos even more without the back ground music. Your lovely voice sharing you excellent knowledge is all we need🤩. I’m wondering if you can tell this old newbie which of your Material libraries will work in LB with a Nova 24 Thunder laser please? Thank, Elize
*Hi Elize, and thank you!* Sorry, but I only have diode laser libraries right now. I can upload one for your Thunder Laser later today. I'll post it in my Forum in the Members Only download section.
Hi Rich, how do you select image in for the Mode in cuts/layers? I am running LightBurn ver 1.3.01 and the only selections I have is Line, Fill, and Offset fill.
Google running slow and not loading ... Any idea which Lazer engraver is big enough to do fretboards on banjo at 26 inches in length? Any reply appreciated.
You can do it on almost any laser Mike. Lightburn has the Print and Cut feature. In this video I demonstrate saving a botched job, but you can also cut graphics in half and do one half at a time using the same principals: ua-cam.com/video/3NFAeKY7yf8/v-deo.html
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I discover exactly what you just told me a few minutes ago. Now the decision has to be made which one and how powerful. Your aces and the videos have me sold on lightburn, thanks for sharing.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Just curious how your states citizens think of Kennedy? I swear he uses the best one liners. It's like the animals have taken over the zoo so if he can make me laugh it's a good thing .
So, I have all of my projects saved in different files, by project type. Same with all of my artwork images, etc. For the most part, these are duplicated. For example, if I have an image file that is listed as Sports Teams, I also have a project file that is Sports Teams. If I create an Art Library and a Materials Library following this tutorial (and the 2nd one), is it going to duplicate the images and project files on my hard drive, or is the software just creating a path to the file's existing location?
No, it does not duplicate the images, or at least I don't think it does. It creates an 8kb file called *.lbart for each category. I will however, talk to the owner of Lightburn and verify this. Consider this if you will; when you create a Lightburn file, let's say a coaster for example, with someone's name and a picture of a coffee cup on it. Why not just save the entire graphic in your arts library under a Coaster category? This way when you have to make another one for a different customer, all you do is drag it out and change the name. This is what I do. I have a special folder called Commercial where I store all my projects I sell in 15 categories, and I have an external drive where I keep the original artwork that I'll never use again. I simply drag out the graphic from the arts lib, change the name on it, go to the material lib, assign the appropriate speed and power to the layer, frame and burn. I can go from an order to burning it on the laser in under a minute. The same way production shops do it. This is the power of the two libraries!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Makes total sense. Thanks for putting this info out. I love learning new things about this software. It really is a powerful tool.
