Absolutely great! I'm so happy with my Sculpfun S30 with it's meagre 5 watts. And getting to know all the ins and outs of Lightburn with this great teacher is an absolute bonus.
I wanted to take the time out and say I really appreciate all your hard work. It helps people like me and we can keep up with you instead of you doing behind the scene shortcuts that is never explained. Maybe I don't know how to do it but one thing I'd like to see Lightburn do is continuous movement of the laser. Maybe There is a way to do it but every time I jog the laser it only moves the specified distance that I set it to and I have to change the specified distance several times before I satisfied positioning the laser. I would like to just hold down the button to make the laser continuously move and that would make it easier to line up where I need it.
If your laser has a Grbl control board (diode), In the device settings, enable $J Jogging. Then, on the Move tab, select, Continuous Jog beneath the movement arrow pad. Now when you hold the move arrow down and the axis will move until you release it.
Rich, thanks again for doing these videos. This one was really helpful. I'm working my way through the rabbit holes. I now have square eyes looking at the screen for hours 🤓
Rich thanks so much for what you do. I am a newbie so many times it is hard for me to follow your curser to follow what you are doing . On my new computer I am able to change the size and color of my cursor. So right now until I get used to my new computer I have increased the size and made it “ black”. that would make it easier to see and follow your moves. Either way, I will definitely continue to LEARN from you. Thanks again. Bud
As a FYI, you can go into the Device Settings/Basic Settings and "Enable laser fire button" which precludes having to hold down additional keyboard keys while framing. Just a thought. Thanks for your videos; very helpful!

I am still running Ver 0.9.14 I know what these toggles do, I just can't seem tomfind them. thanks for your help. keep up the amazing work.
*I think* the Toolpaths T1 &T2 weren't added until version 0.9.2, so unfortunately, you don't have them. *I'm going to check on that.* There are a lot of great improvements since 9.1.4 and I would highly recommend upgrading, but if you don't want to, You can just tick off the output on the cuts and layers tab and 30 & 31 will act as toolpaths. Hope that helps.

Hey There Rich, I cannot for the life of me find where you changed the value on the alarm on the Ortur, it is so annoying when it goes off with no smoke around, etc. where can I find it ? Thank you once again. Last question, my laser is leaving a blip burn where it starts and stops, any ideas on that. Thank you
Set these values in the console tab John: $261=0 & $262=750. Next, check your cut layer and in the Advanced tab, make sure Start & End pause time isn't turned on.
I have a baseline test card that I run on any new laser. I keep it for future comparison. I'll run the same job once every six months or so and see if they're the same. I really haven't found very much difference on these diode lasers though. My 3-year-old lasers still perform almost like new, with only about 10% degradation.
