Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and resources, as a new owner of a monport 80w this is so incredibly helpful!!! Having the material library as a starting point really saves time, frustration and material.
Glad it was helpful!

You're a fabulous teacher! Will you have a materials lib for Atezr V35 Pro?
Once I get it tested I Will James.
Thanks Rich, you are one of the best laser guys and instructors out there.
Wow, thanks! Much appreciated!
Do you have the cut/engrave library for the wizmaker l1 36w diode?
No I don't.
Hello Rich, I am Peter from the Netherlands. I love the way you teach, and explain stuff on lightburn. Sometimes you play country or bluegrass music. How can I get this? Btw, I am 66 years young.
I create it all myself using AI Peter.
I am searching in the forum for ortur and cant find a laser library for an LM2 Pro with the LU2-10A. Can you suggest another one I might use?
Any of the 10W libraries will work Dennis.
Very great video, thanks for your efforts! It's great that there are so many people who explain things so well.
I have one question about the forum and the Libary because of the settings. I have a Falcon2 40W. Do you think I can use a library in the forum even if it's not exactly for this type? If so, which one? It would be cool if I had at least a rough idea of the settings.
Thanks a lot!
Yes, libraries are based on power, not manufacturer. When you see the manufacturer name, that just means they contributed to the library with some initial tests.
could you do a video on how to move lightburn art library for on computer to another computer please
Just copy them to a thumb drive.
I'm having a heck of a time. I have been stuck with a template on my screen for two days. The template I have has other images on it, & I only want to separate one from them. I can't find your video that showed how to do it. I have seen so many. PLEASE help! I'm a member. If you have a link for a video or something?
Draw a square or circle over the image you want to cut out, and then select both and right click on them and choose, apply mask to image.
I see all those monport certs on the wall.. I just purchased a Monport. Seem like and good fiber laser. What is your thoughts on it?
The fiber lasers are good, I have 2 of them.
Thank you for this information
My pleasure!
Hello, Another wonderful lesson for lightburn. I have a question, I have an atomstack A24 Pro and I don't know which library from your forum I can use if at all. Please advise.
Extra: can i use the 'Atzer 24W Library' for this?
Any of the 20W libraries.
I bought a used orthr laser, I am having issues understanding jhow to get the machine up. is there anyone that may help me ?

Hi, Rich
I've been watching your videos and now have a 22w laser Falcon 5. I also have a shaper CNC router which I do inlays. How do you export LightBurn files into SVG files? so I can use my CNC router ? . Files that I have in SVG is easy to transfer to Lightburn but I would like to do it the other way ??
PS On your donate page will it accept UK £? keep up the good work
Select the file Bob, and then click, File --> Export and choose SVG.
Many thanks need to sort out Affinity as to were it put it .
Hey. I have a Mac computer and none of this info works for me for my art library.
This is software, and the libraries work within the software, independent of the operating system. If you follow the instructions on my forum, it works.
You know a lot about light burn program I do all my designs in coreldraw how can that work together
I don't use any other software anymore. Lightburn can do it all Mark.
Help!! everytime light burn updates it deletes all of my saved library how can I fix this

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thank you
First, thanks for all the helpful knowledge you're putting out there. For some reason, everything I try to add to my art library, the import button just stays greyed out. Pictures, shapes, groups of shapes. I don't know what I'm doing wrong
You're on the wrong library tab. Open the Art Library and load them from there. You're probably trying to load them from the Library tab.
@The Louisiana Hobby Guy It was the art library. I was able to get it to work finally but I'm not exactly sure how. I just kept selecting different things and grouping and ungrouping and anything I could think of... eventually it wasn't grayed out haha. It's happened a few times though so if it happens again I will try to take a screenshot and post it in the forum if I can't figure out exactly what I did
Thanks Rich great video as always. How do I engage you for a private session? I'm having issues calibrating my xtool D1.
Hi Dan, I have a calendar at: calendly.com/thelahobbyguy, or you can use the Forum for free: lahobbyguy.com/bb/
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy ok I'll try the forum.
Great Video is there a way to bulk load a folder of files into an art file?
Not that I know of Keith, but I'll be meeting with Jason, the owner of Lightburn this week, and that, as well as other library features are on my list of topics to discuss with him!
If you download a art library to your desktop and then import into Lightburn, does it "install" the library in the Lightburn program folder structure or does it create a link to where you imported from? Meaning if after I load the library and delete file from desktop, will the library still work in Lightburn?
No, it won't work. You need to have file organization and have the source file located somewhere where Lightburn can read it from. It will work once it's loaded, but as soon as you close the program and restart it, the source file (.clb file) will be empty if you've deleted it.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy thank you!
Dude!!! Thank you!!!! now if I could only get the same amount of Art Library items you have. LOL Yes, I've gone to your forum and downloaded all the art library files
I have a few hundred. Most of them project specific.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy do you grab them as you make things? that's how I got quite a few of mine. I'd design something, then (once I watched this how to video) saved the art that I knew I was going to reuse.
Yeah, I usually keep the top 15 or so loaded.
When picking files to use in Lightburn, is SVG or PNG better? Someone sent me files with images of both file types. I've read SVG is better, but at face value the PNG files look better and are easier to deal with in Lightburn? Quite a few of the SVG files have layers than I can not get to group, so moving or adjusting the images is impossible....for my skill level =0 LOL.
Either one works fine John. You can use any format photos in Lightburn.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy any tricks to get these SVG files to group? I select them all Hit the group button and four out of five layers will group... But there's always one layer that won't
You have to them one at a time, and the order of operations is important.
How do you remove a library? I tried to create what I thought was an art library and it was actually the (cut/material) library and now it keeps trying to load but there is nothing for it to load.
There are 2 library tabs Penny, Art & Library. Art is for images and Library is for cut settings. One file won't load into the other.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I think I got it...thanks
Hi mate, it is really an awesome knowledge being shared, I have signed up to your forum and tried to find Cut and Engrave library for my NEJE Max 4E80 but was unable to find, any possibility if you have that available you can upload or we need to wait for it, till it get available. But awesome work sir, thanks once again.
Any 20W library will work. They're not brand specific.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Great, Thanks for replying, I think its 40watt module, so shall I download any 40watt Module library, as mine one is NEJE Max 4 E80, which they ate mentioning 40 watt.
@@AussieshopForAll The E-80 is a 20W.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Great, Thanks
Is their away to convert a lightburn project to a JPG or other format?
Select it, and then click File --> Export and you can choose dxf, svg or ai Terry.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks
can i give a tip on video etc... turn the mic up a bit thanks ,,,, thanks for making these and making the time for them,,, i just got a z1 from a idea at a craft show selling my wood turning
I've been turning it up into the red lately. If I turn it up too far it distorts. Right click the video and look at the stats for nerds. YT is throttling the audio.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy OK depending on the microphone thatjust move it closer then and then you could turn that the sitting down a little
as usual sir another great video.

Hi, Awesome videos. Just bought an Xtool D1 pro 20W with the RA2 add-on, and quickly learned the value of Lightburn. Your tutorials are invaluable. Reg'ed on your website, awesome tools and files. Thanks!
Glad to help JC!
Thank you Rich! I hope you get better soon! I am hoping you can help me put my library back on a tab with the Cuts and Layers tab. I hit the X on the title bar and now my Art Library is not a tab - it's free floating. I cannot seem to put it back. Thanks!
It's probably a laptop Robin. Laptops have lots of trouble docking windows.
Thanks again Rich. Very informative. Another lesson learned

Glad you enjoyed it Craig!
Merci!
You're welcome! Thanks so much for the support!
To be more coherent LB should rename 'Library' to 'Material Library' or 'Cut/Engrave Material Library'
Agreed! I like Material Library.
This is very informative specially for newbies. Thamnks Rich.👍

A HUGE thank you Rich ! I've been sneaking around the web looking for cut libraries, and the cotton picking thing was right here in front of me all along. I downloaded the MonPort 55w cut library.
You're very welcome Phillip!
well rich i always find your videos breathtaking the manner in which you explain it in a calm understandable way you can follow well when you do something.but with you as how shall i say it guidance master it will always be okay.and as you say goes the wrong you start over again and nobody looks at you with a skewed eye it is the result that counts.
I appreciate that Luc! Embrace your mistakes! It's how we learn!

What about if I have a d1 pro 20w. Starting to feel like I choose the wrong laser. 🥴... only see 5w and 10w on here.
You didn't look hard enough.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy ah man thanks. Already did what I said I wouldnt do by asking questions that are on the forum.🤦♂️ I never actually joined a forum, but anyways yours is sweet man, looks like a lot work and time... glad I found ya man. Illl send something your way here in the near.
Welcome aboard!
Nice job Rich. I haven't really messed with art libraries much. I use the cut libraries all the time once I run my test grid for a material, the results end up in the library so I can find them again. Since the bulk of my plywood is all one size, I am thinking making a toolpath template in the art library will be less of a pain than always starting with my "blank_template" file and then doing a save as.
That's a great idea Steve! Both libraries are huge time savers!
Thanks Rich, you always make things easy to understand, I usually watch videos multiple times until it sinks into my grey matter!!
Glad to hear it Mark!
Awesome video and as soon as my laser gets here I am going to your forum!!! Love the tutorials.

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Absolutely my good sir. 🙏
@Text.+①(⑦⑥⓪) ④④⓪-⑤⓪⑥⓪
?
Thanks to your library videos I've been taking pictures of irregularly shaped wood and using it as my background to place other images or text.
I just take a picture, email it to myself. Then I made a new category folder. Then all I gotta do is open that folder in the library and hit the import button and the background image goes directly into the library.
You CANNOT drag and drop it in to your workspace. Otherwise other images or text will NOT go on top of it regardless of what you do.
You have to import it into the library.
Thanks rich. Been doin a lot of learning.
Glad to hear. Yes, you can drag and drop.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
I realize you can drag and drop but their is a glitch in Lightburn that they didn't program correctly. If you drag and drop then you cannot change the order of the layers such as text or other images. It has no effect and other layers will not go on top of the image. In some cases using the "push to top" under the arrange button will not even work. That is why I said you have to import otherwise all other objects have lower priority and it will go under the picture. If you have version 1.02.04 try it and see for yourself. Ive contacted support and they tried it for themselves and said they would pass that info along to the developers.
I can't try it as I'm in V 1.30. Maybe it's fixed in the next version? I have never had that problem though and I drag and drop. But I also set priority on the Cuts / Layers tab with the up and down arrows.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Wow. Just bought my version weeks ago and its already outdated??
Very interesting to know that when you drag and drop you can still change the list order. When I do that changing the order of layers does not affect anything but changing the list order and doesn't actually do anything with the layers in the work area.
Maybe I need to update mine already?
I didn't understand why you couldn't try it because of your version number though?
I'm a Beta tester for LightBurn, so I have the latest Beta; you can't get it until it's fully vetted and released. Like I said, it works on my version, and I've done it before in previous versions. Moving the layers up and down with the arrow icons in the Cuts / Layers window changes the focus on the screen. Drag in two items and put them on top of each other on two different layers. Then go to Cuts / Layers select one, and hit the up or down arrow and watch the screen.
Love this!! Thanks Rich
Glad you enjoyed!
Rich, I always appreciate your videos because they are always so timely and appropriate like this one. You would think that we all know how to use our files but you take us deeper into understanding how to create and use them. Thanks so much. John von
Wow, thank you John!
