I am 60 years old, I've been listening to this band since 1974. For you youngsters and newby's out there that have been listening to this band for maybe 10 or 20 years there is no other band like this rush is in fact the most unique sound in the music industry. There never will be another. And there will never be another Neil Peart.

This is true. When I listened to Rush for the first time, It was like a arrow in the chest, love at first hearing. I think I listened Finding My Way on the radio for the first time. Since then, I never stopped listening. They are unique at music universe.

I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Rush in the 80's, 90's and 2000's. I also had the utmost distinct pleasure of meeting the band in the 80's. Neal was so humble, almost embarrassed by being a "superstar". The BEST drummer this planet had or will ever have. RIP Neal, your legend will always live on.

I am 60 years old and couldn't agree more, the first time I heard this I said, "what the heck is that?" I seen Rush when I was in the service over in Germany at that time I was right up against the stage and could have reached out and touched Geddy Lee. I remember being totally memorized with how the three guys could put out the music they were. Neil Pert is hands down the epitome of what a drummer in a band should be, R.I.P. Even after watching Rush in concert and listening to everything they recorded, I still to this day don't know how only three guys could play like there's at least two more in the band.
I once suspected additional tracks being added, but between watching them live, and going over their videos like I was studying for finals, I could only conclude that they're just that good.

Rush was about to be dropped by their record company for poor sales. The three of them decided to go out (if they were going to go out) with a bang, by recording an album that was to be their final artistic statement with no regard to what their record company or the public mind would easily digest. This album was the result. It skyrocketed them to popular success.

    We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all, all for one
    We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx
Our great computers fill the hollowed halls
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within these walls
Look around this world we made
    Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the brotherhood of man
    What a nice contented world
    Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the red star proudly high in hand
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx
Our great computers fill the hollowed halls
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx

You know what i find interesting...today, anyone can look these songs up to find out what they are all about. But back then, we used to ponder to them. You had to really spend time with them. Listen to them carefully...read the words. Know them. It was a real escape, but you had to give your time and attention to really know it and feel it. And use your mind and imagination too. The internet has killed all kinds of creativity and interest. Its so boring that everything today can just be looked up...as opposed to figuring things out on your own. I stayed up late listening to these albums and parsing out what they meant...I was always a kid who liked words and lyrics. I learned a lot doing it, about music and myself. Too bad albums like this are a lost art today. It was really kind of a magical discovery when you are a teenager to find this stuff back in the day and really explore within your own mind and listening experience.

    We've taken care of everything
The words you read, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
    We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why
We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls
Look around at this world we've made
    Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh, what a nice, contented world
    Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand
We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls
