      Same here. My brother and I had never even heard of Rush until a High School friend had lent us this epic album. After school that evening, a couple of 16 year old musicians sat down to listen to this 20+ minute masterpiece and were completely blown away! 🎆Rush had, at that unforgettable moment, forever changed our understanding and appreciation of what REAL music was. All these decades later, here I am, still being mesmerized by the greatest power trio in the history of the world.🔥Long live Rush. 🍁

I was SO glad to see that Rush made sure to show the protagonist still alive at the end, and able to witness the Elders come to tear the temples down! I was always a bit sad at the end of 2112 before, since that poor tortured man ended it all seemingly right before the fulfilment of his dream. It's really nice that he made it, and went on to see his World change to the way he wanted it

    I was 13 in 1976, I heard bits of this album from a friends brother and soon spent some hard earned mowing cash and bought the album. Many, many, many nights I sat in a chair next to the stereo in my folks living room at night, all lights off, headphones on, looking out the window at distant slowly blinking red lights from broadcast towers, and played this music as loud as my sanity would allow. I know (knew) every note, every lick, every strike of Neal Peart's sticks to the point of distraction in the real world as I replayed side A in my mind. I did the same with many albums (Kiss-Detroit Rock City, Styx-Equinox, Steve Miller) but 2112 was the leader by far. I ache for that time.

    I don't care what anybody says. This is still the absolute heaviest thing I've ever heard, especially the first six and a half minutes. See, it isn't always about how fast or how loud you play. In fact, it really comes down to attitude. In this case, Rush were angry with how they were being told to be more "radio-friendly" and they said "absolutely not!" and made this masterpiece. The anger shows through, and that's why it's heavy.

      Well, this is true for me as well, but I find peace in the fact that there is a different 2112 hidden in the song.
      At the very end, the message from the Elder Race of Man:
      Attention, all planets of the Solar Federation.
      Attention, all planets of the Solar Federation.
      Attention, all planets of the Solar Federation.
      We have assumed control.
      We have assumed control.
      We have assumed control.
      The first sentence has 7 words.
      The second different sentence has 4 words.
      Both sentences are repeated 3 times.
      7x3=21
      4x3=12
      2112.

    Anyone catch the images of Alex, Geddy and Neil during the video? Notice how early on when the video talks about the elder race of man left Earth (15:25) that it was young versions of the three, and then at the end they come back as older (20:00)to take back the planet from the Priests of the Temple of Syrinx. Nice trick by the Illustrator/Animator of this video.

      It's oddly happening. I have been hearing the song "Twilight Zone" in my head that last few days. I guess my subconscious pulled it up as it relates to towns being empty with the covid-19 lockdown. That made me want to come to listen to all of the lyrics again with a new way of looking at them, wondering what else they may have "foreseen". First I noticed a Mandella Effect. No one played this album more back in the day, just saying and In Temples of Syrinx its " Father and Son" not common sons. Also, the oracle was a SHE, not he. Anyway, there is a "Galactic Federation" that is a negative ET bloodline posing as good, trying to take over control from another not so good ET bloodline and that is what this whole shut down is about as was the creation of Trumps Space Force. Take note that they even copied the logo symbol from the Federations in Star Trek. They are fighting up there and a lot is happening behind the scenes. They want AI to take over and the vaccine has synthetic DNA , patented voice to skull tech, that with 5G will give total mind control of all humans. The computers in the walls and temples ( our bodies) is 5 and 6 G nanotech. Humans will become good little worker biological slaves run by the AI computer and sold as such and no one will be the wiser. All human creativity will be snuffed out as the right brain will be shut down and inaccessible. AI is the only thing allowed to create music or art and it will suck as if you haven't noticed, it is already putting out much of today's garbage. And, a group called Annonymous as you all know, just called out Bill Gates and his vaccine and they called out Trump in the past. Anonymous has been calling out the whole Federation take over. Look at the album and who wrote the story of 2112. Its says - Annonymous You can't make this shit up. It's happening.

    I think I was about 12 years old, around 1981, and used to love mooching around in some woodland behind some houses nearby where I grew up. One day there was an old chest of drawers, obviously thrown out into the woods by one of the homeowners. I rifled through the drawers, they were all empty, but in one I found a Philips c90 cassette tape. Curiously, I took it home and played it on my tape player and it was a recording of this album. That was when my life changed and I became a Rush fan. I listened to that tape most nights, through my headphones, in bed, it was mind blowing. Like nothing else I had ever heard.
    Thank you Rush, for providing a soundtrack to my life and thank you to the guy who illustrated this, it’s fabulous.

      If you love this, go to Fly By Night next. I was so lucky. Back in the 70's there used to be a record store called Licorice Pizza, and they would open and play any new album you brought up to the counter. So we took fulI advantage of that policy. I brought 2112 up to the counter and the guy said I could have it if I would just leave! So I did! I was so pissed because they refused to play any of it on the radio. I used to call in and request Lessons and Something For Nothing. They never played any of it. Or anything off Fly By Night. I'm so happy they were finally recognized.

    Cried when I heard Neil had died. I had been playing Moving Pictures all week in ignorance. never got to tell him how he sound-tracked so many important and poignant moments in my life. First heard 2112 through ear goggles in a darkened room from start to finish. First time was awesome. Still brilliant 36 years later... Thanks, Mr Peart. Thanks, Rush.
