- The Snowdogs covering 2112 by RUSH. June 2022 Bradford, MA.
*We know it's a bit up tempo and not perfect. We're not trying to be rock stars. We're not trying to compete with any Rush tribute bands. We're just having a good time with good friends. The singer is the guitar player's 12 year old son, He's been watching us jam his whole life and really likes Rush so we do it for him, It makes us happy to see him enjoying it...plus we destroyed the competition at his 8th grade talent show...the other kids didn't have a chance :D
*Any negative comments about him will be removed but feel free to insult the 3 old men, they're at the age where they don't care what people think. We really appreciate the amount of positive feedback we've gotten, took us by surprise really and we're humbled. We got a lot of serious long winded comments in the beginning about every minor detail we got wrong, so I updated the description to let people know we're just having fun. Thanks!
Sam - Lead vocals & Keys
Steve - Guitar & vocals
Jim Maz - Drums
Paul D.- Bass

I've got to be honest: I wasn't expecting much, but that straight-up ROCKED; well done!!
Why weren't you expecting much.
@@321gates because it was three rednecks on their deck...
Me to, ive been playing for decades, with touring rock bands, and i dont think i would ahve the balls to try and play
an intricate Rush song, PROPS to the dudes for sure, and the little singer made it even cooler.
@@321gates It's hard to cover Rush. But it's harder to cover them so good.
yep... great twist
Having the kid come in to sing the high notes is genius! Great job!
Brilliant!
He sounded GREAT too !!! hahahaha Good job guys !!!!Love it !!!!
Bruh. I shidded. The kid nailed it.
The way he walked out in the red hoodie just on cue was too funny. Kid has the swagger of a rockstar already
You never see anyone even attempt to do Rush, especially 2112. It's too hard & too intricate, you guys (all of you) did an outstanding job!!!!!
Well this guy underneath your comment said he has seen a lot of covers of 2112 so..... one of you is exaggerating (nice way of saying lying) Im not going to say who I think it is but I Dont think too many bands attempt this
Foo Fighters did 2112 when Rush was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Alex Lifeson gave "a memorable speech". 😂
@@randyrhoads6357 Thanks I am going to look that up.
@danielhoward8354 It's just "Overture" and Rush came out and joined them at the very end.
@@randyrhoads6357 Saw that ,then they did Tom Sawyer thanks again, If you havnt seen it (Foo Fighters kiss guy) is pretty good also.
Hope the neighbors loved it as much as I did - well done lads!!
The neighbors were listening to Rush really loud yesterday....wether they wanted to or not.
Wouldn't it be Great to have neighbors like these guys !!! \
n//
Where are you guys from?
your lookin at them lol
The drummer is doing a wicked good job.
I’m a Drummer and you are absolutely correct they are great band all around. 🤘🏻😎⚡️madmenofmetal ⚡️
Freakin incredible. I’m a Neil P nut and this drummer is freakin on point great. I’m humbled and Neil would be honored to hear such precision in his professor parts displayed here. A bit more continuity of time could be close to equal comparatively, although of course Neil is the master of his own works, but the FEEL and attack is just outstanding. Thanks again. Drum on. 🎵💎💚
I'm a drummer too and this guy is on point and sounds great....I grew up with Rush 2112 and of course the 80s were the best years of my life....
Great job!!!
@@Woodstock9831 man... The 80s were a great time to be alive!
Holy Crap!!!! Not a weak member of that band. You all KILLED it. Wow. Thank you!!!
I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments as well as the critiques! Paul, Steve and I have known each other since the mid to late 80s. Steve and Paul go back further. We have all trudged through the original band thing to varying degrees of success. We are all past that now but when the opportunity came to play with Sam, I knew I could not pass it up. It has given me a newfound joy to hopefully inspire and pass something on. We are grateful that so many are enjoying what we have put out here. That is inspiring to me and the band. Thank you.
Looking forward to uploading some other tunes.

Thanks sooo much Jim for the vid,..I wish I could just hang out on your deck,..really, really nice stuff,..absolutely wonderful Thank you!!!!!!!! I would say it took a lot of work but then again,..I'm also thinking you had to work out a few things but you had this one in the combined arsenal all along,.kinda' how this sort of thing works (or doesn't)
❤❤❤
@@MrsJMZ Give him a Kiss for me hun,..cuz I'm thinking if I did it well,..let's just say,.. I think you should do it(heehee)
Absolutely love you're guys enthusiasm, the passion for the music shines bright definitely honoring these bands and keeping their music alive and rocking!!!! God bless you all keep up the good work
The kid emerging out of nowhere is great! Just goes to show, Geddy Lee's vocals even exceed a 13yo's range! Great job.
To say that they surpassed my expectations would be an understatement. The kid rocks.
I consider myself an enormous RUSH fan. This was top notch. Bass player quietly kicked ass.
Me too bruv! Since 1976.
My now wife turned me on to Rush by giving me 2112 for my b-day in 1976 when it first dropped. Been to every tour since, including R40 (twice, of course)😊👍🏼
@@kellyc2425 I would have made her my wife too.
@@kendetulio4009 IKR?!! 😁👍🏼
LOOOOONG story, but we were each other's very first, back in 1975 in 10th grade.
My parents retired and we were forced apart. Me now on the west coast, her on the east coast.
Well... I joined the Navy as soon as I turned 17 (parent's permission required) in hopes of getting orders back east... But her dad was CIA and they moved all over Asia and Europe so we lost touch for 32 years!
September 6, 2007, I found her sister on our high school's reunion website and gave her my number... My phone rang less than 5 minutes later, and there she was!! And as fate had it... We were both single. We talked on the phone for over THREE HOURS. That alone shocked my son, because I hate talking on the phone.
Anyway, she flew out to Seattle the very next weekend and we picked up right where we left off... as if we were never apart. (Much less 32 years!)
We married 2 months later, and will be together till the very end. 😁
There is so much more to the story that I honestly should write a book.
Seriously.
Both were married and divorced to partners that actually hated Rush!! 😡
Can you imagine??
That alone is legit grounds for divorce!
Wow! The power of RUSH is amazing.
ha! the bass player always quietly kicks ass!
Who doesn’t dream of being part of a group of guys who can hang and play some iconic stuff. This is just awesome. F’ing RESPECT!
Right on David. Very few musicians I’ve played with are interested in learning a song note for note. I think it’s a fun challenge. Bass player here. 😊
Holy shit! And when the kid stepped in to sing… 🤯 I am 58 years old, started playing Rush pretty much note for note when I was 16 when the stuff first came out, and I know how to play a ton of Rush correctly. These guys killed it…
Excellent job. The drum part is extremely complicated. Anybody who has ever tried to play this, gets a deeper appreciation of Neal Peart's ability and skill. Everybody did a excellent job.
Neil 😊
Kneel Pert (like on the bass drum)
I played Neil for 45 years and I gotta tell you it's a b****
Especially with thirty less percussion instruments!
Awesome
This is one of the most difficult songs to cover and you guys crushed it. Red hoodie mystery singer rocks.
Jesus, I wasn’t expecting a backyard band to be this good. Damn, really good.
I have to agree. At first I wanted to praise the drummer but the guitar and bass are tight and equally as good. Well done gents!
I’ve been playing drums for 40 years I have to admit the drummer did a good job as well as the rest of the band. Bass Player and Guitarist also was excellent not what I expected. Much better than expected guys. Please keep up this work. You’re on to something good here.
I've never met you guys, yet I am so PROUD of you. You ALL brought the spirit of this song, the dynamics, the fire and the great playing together and that's why so many comments start with " I really wasn't expecting much.". GREAT JOB, SUPERIOR WORK!!!!!!!!
Thanks 😁
That and stereotypes. Be real.
For a garage band as we ol schoolers call it,you guys are Magnificent, clean , timing, and accuracy on target!
Better than a garage band, it's a porch band! That's a compliment, well done!
Better than a porch band even !!
You guys really rocked a really hard tune ...and you really kicked ass.!
Nicely done
@@swbeck1814 Better than a porch band, they are a deck band!
Geddy is one of my favorite singers.
I have to admit, the masked singer sounds almost as good as he did towards the end.
Being a drummer, I'm most impressed by the drumming. Fantastic !
All of Neil's intricate fills and runs...SPOT ON
I've watched many big name drummers cover Rush, and I truly dont think any did as well.
BRAVO
I envy your neighbors
Dam those drums sound crispy
I was gonna say, this guy knows how tune a kit
Being a huge fan of Rush's early music, watching this had me smiling through the entire thing... 👍👍👍
That was freaking amazing!! That’s a rough one to cover and you guys made Neil and the gang proud! I’d like to see the drummer on a Neil kit. Kudos to hoodie kid!! The guitarist pulled off what was originally done in the studio and the fills were genius! New sub.
Suddenly it 1980 again, and I'm 15. My teenage self is blowing thru RUSH covers with his friends...as my current self quietly weeps. Thanks for the great memory.
I graduated in 84. I thought I wouldn't see it, It wouldn't happen to me. I was going to stay beautiful and keep rocking on and there wouldn't be no memories cause I'm living the now and the now is today and tomorrow....sigh.. Fuck , getting old sucks. Damn that Father Time. It's great to see the music I loved go on , but one thing for sure is Geddy , Alex and Neil were the collaborators of that one of a kind sound
Exactly..same here..class of '82 haha!
I've seen a lot of covers of 2112, but I think I enjoyed this one the most! You guys totally rocked it!
You should check out YYT .. their female vocalist is a more melodic match for Lee's falsetto pitch ...
I did have to chuckle a bit at the kid's getting up and going into the house when he wasn't singing ... not getting down on him, kids that age have million of reasons for wanting to stay out of the Limelight..😉
Still one of the greatest intros in rock / progressive history. These guys did a great job.
What??? Are you kidding me??? Completely Badass. Brings back a lot of great memories. If this generation only knew what real music is. Keep rockin. Rest in Peace Neil, best drummer EVER
I normally cut away from groups trying to cover epic songs, but you guys did a pretty nice job!
Same here
Neighbors are either rocking out or are like "are you freaking kidding me". Awesome job!
😂Neighbors are either rocking or on the phone with the cops, great job guys, I've been in many Garage Bands and they all sucked compared to you. Then my next door neighbor Jerry Only started a band called The Misfits and my whole neighborhood went deaf😂😂😂
Rush is one of those bands that's hard to pull off i say they nailed It Great job
Nice use of the pre-pubescent voice to reach Ged's high pitch! You guys did a killer job! As someone else said, I was NOT expecting much for 2112...but this was fantastic!!! Pure gold. I am a HUGE Rush fan (I'm sure there are others in the comments section too) - and this was very respectable. Bravo, boys!!!!
Im very impressed at this cover. This was WAY better than I expected it to be. The fact they have a little kid covering Geddy singing is also so funny I started laughing when he came out and started singing. And then again I was impressed. I would pay to go see this played live. 2112 was a defining piece of music in my life and will always invoke powerful emotions in me when I hear it.
It's a blessing for us to have lived in the time when this music was coming out. I'm 60 and a big fan of 60's, 70's, 80's, and some 90's bands, still. What gets passed off as music these days sucks. I can't name one modern new band, not one. I don't have a clue as to what even gets played on the radio these days.
Holy cow! That was awesome. When the young man walked back on the patio, never did I expect him to belt out a great interpretation of Geddy!
Thank you, Snowdogs, for sharing your love with us.
When I listen to Rush, so do the neighbors….🤘
Well done! I like how the singer came out, did the vocals, went back in the house and finished lunch, then returned to conclude the song.
Anyone with the guts to play Rush in public should be applied. Then to crush it like you guys did is incredible!! I've paid to see bands not do as good of a job as you guys did. Thank you for posting this.
Holy Crap! You guys are on fire! 🔥 I was expecting a simple, noisy backyard BBQ porch jam. I got a practical Rush concert. This totally took me back to my high school days of jamming this very same song on my own backyard patio. Thanks for keeping the great music of Rush alive, and doing it proper justice (no small feat!). Keep on rockin'! 🤘
🤯🤯🤯 RUSH. That 3 man band was Supernatural. Well done on this cover. Max difficulty from Vocals to the Rest. NICE!!!
If I was at random backyard party, didn't really know anybody, and these guys pulled this off like they did, I would be very impressed. And I'm a rush fan and a drummer. Well done guys!
Holy Shitake!!! You guys are freaking killer!! Kudos to the young lad doing the vocals!! All you guys are crazy good musicians!! Don't ever give playing up for anything!! Give us more!!
Don’t know how I stumbled across this cover , but my god did I stay for it all. Well done brothers!
As an old OG Rush fan, I give this 10 thumbs up. Great job.
Drummer nailed it he’s goin places
Epic sound offa Fing back porch. I took in Rush concert 1977 Lansing MI .. then 2007 in Ottawa CA…. I still have a small chrome Slingerland kit ….till I die!! The Professor! 🙇
It's good to see the young generation appreciate good music
Right on time men!!!!! The singer boy blew me away! Always been a huge fan and you guys nailed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive never felt so much energy going through my mind until i watched these guys play here. Amazing!!!!! 😎🤘
No stinking way, that kid tore it up! The older kids rocked as well. Some of the finest music available.
WOW…..Most Excellent!!! Nice job on guitar, I think a lot of people don’t realize how much sonic energy Alex Lifeson puts into Rush’s music.
😮 2112 is part of my top 5 all time favorite albums. You blew me away… all parts rock solid. Take a bow!
Kick ass! Best song ever made. Great job! Hat's off to the young singer hittin the high notes! Geddy would be proud!
OMG! I AM BLOWN AWAY! The Snowdogs shall inherit the RUSH heavens! AWESOME!!Thank you for sharing!!
Excellent 🤘This is not an easy song to do, you all are extremely talented.
Beautiful job covering a very difficult tune.
Been a Rush fan since the 70’s… you guys nailed it.
It's harder to play it accurately than to improvise. You guys nailed. That had to take many many hours to get that close to the original.
I remember the days in the 70s - seeing RUSH play at our high school - awesome!
I saw them at the hockey rink together with Max Webster, before anyone had ever heard of either of them. Best $1.75 I ever spent.
I saw them at our community college before Neil. I think it was $2.
How awesome was that, I was in my teens when Rush released this masterpiece. Love the Bass drum cover.
This is just incredible. The image is as important as the music.
I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. Way to go, guys! Terrific cover.
Someone give a medal to the parents of this kid.
Thanks, He's the guitar players son...been watching us jam his whole life..it's in his blood :)
I'll echo what a lot other folks were saying. Wasn't expecting this at all!!!! GREAT job everyone!!
This put a huge smile on my face! Man, I wish I could replace my current neighbors with you guys!
HOLY SHIT!
What a shocker! Didn't expect such an exquisite and sublime cover of THIS!
Great job folks. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love the "Kneel Pert" on the drums! RIP Professor! Solid musicianship on a difficult song! The kid did a good job but needs to get over the shyness and rock it out. I think their voice just needs to be let out. Rush left a mark on me and I want to thank you for carrying on the legacy of my favorite band.
Dead on guys. The timing was on point. You nail the timing on this song and you've got it.
Thats quite exquisite! I bet the neighbors didnt mind at all listening to you all jam! Well done gentlemen 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’m a huge Rush fan, and when you got me rock’n with my leg I know that you guys did Rush justice
Excellent job on a very difficult song to pull off in the best of circumstances. And to perform it in this live setting is mind blowing!
Great job gentlemen 👍 Rush is VERY difficult to cover but you gave them a respectable cover. Keep on jammin 🍁
Rush is not an easy band to cover, you folks did a GREAT job!!!!!
yeah, it's harder than playing "Heart of Gold"
Wow, very impressive! I love seeing this generation get into real music. Well done to the parents for encouraging this.
Holy sheep dip Batman! that was a killer version
The best two minutes of the history of Rock N' Roll are the last two minutes of 2112.
Jeez that kid smashed on the vocals! Damn so awesome!
Really well done! The Drinkmore Brothers (Rush fans like y’all!) send a salute!
I am reloading it for a third time. The boys really take off! Solid. Fliptastic! 😊 Babes in the woods!
Red hooded-Geddy puts down the video-game controller, steps out on the deck from the kitchen, and ROCKS the vocal. Exits briefly to take a swig of Mt. Dew, then returns for the finale. Give that kid props.
Wow, I wasn't expecting that!!! First time I heard 2112 I was 12 years old it was 1977 I pinched some my uncle's weed smoked it and seen the 8 track in the stereo. Put the head phones on turned it all the way up and pushed it in. It started at the beginning of track one, side A of the album. Blew mind and was hooked from that moment on. Thanks you guys what a fantastic job you guys rocked it. Thanks for the memory.
Bravo!! Very impressive. Great job by all!! Oh, and the hoodie kid!!
The drummer could've called his set "TEAL pert'
Best part begins at 3:30 but really, this entire thing SLAYS
This put a big smile on my 60 year-old face. The 12 year old singer is lucky to share this with you three gentlemen. I am certain when he’s 60 years old this will be one of his fondest memories.
Who cares if the “meek shall inherit the Earth” long as they have a good sound system.
Rock on boys!!
Thank You!🙂
Great job, guys! The singer could fill in for Geddy! Spot on
Excellent playing by everyone..The guitarist should be very proud, his son did a awesome job singing!! Keep Rock alive dude. I would definitely love to see you guys.
Ben a Rush fan since the early 80s, you guys did a great job on this. Glad you enjoy Rush music.
I think this is one of the best covers of 2112 I've ever seen! And I've seen lots. You guys kick ass!!! Especially Kneel!!
This was Rush at it greatest. Great job guys.
I love how the kid walked out right on cue looking like the unibomber, sang the song and then yawned and stretched as he walked back into the house. 😂
Love it... Ya'll Rocked it... Guitarist shredded, drummer & bassist were on point, I was so hoping that kid would come back and sing lol and he did... Hell yeah awesome boys!!
I first saw Rush on this tour. First of several dozen shows. I gotta prop you guys. Great show!
Holy crap... You guys killed it. That's a hell of a music mountain to climb and you did it. And as others have said, to pull off Neil Peart's intricate and exceptionally difficult drum part is something truly special. All of you did a great job. Brought back great memories...
Dudes, that was awesome. Little homie killin it on the vocals. Thanks for posting this 🙏🏼
You all did an awesome job!👍😎🎸🥁🎶
Holy Crap!!!!!!! This Is So Good on all levels!!! Hey Geddy and Alex!!!!
It's a killer piece of music, well done by all. "Kneel Pert" hehe.
I feel so blessed to have found this only 9 days after it was uploaded.
This is very high quality craftsmanship. I loved the Priest of Syrinx on vocals!
Thanks! You're the 1st person to realize why he's wearing the hoodie...he wanted to look like the Priest of Syrinx and that was closest thing he could find😅
@@thesnowdogs Must be my proximity to Toronto or something hehe ;) Got the YYZ in me.
The Zed!😁
I'm a 60 year old rocker ! Very well done!! The drummer was realy good ! They were all good ! Pretty cool!!
One of the better versions I heard from a band I wouldn't expect to kill it like this. And the sound was pretty darn good for outside and no mics on drums. The kid coming out in his hoodie out of nowhere had me bustin a gut, then disappears with a yawn, and reappears for the finale. Great job
This is so tight! Love 'red riding hood" , EXCEPTIONAL
Just incredible!!!! What a treat.The Snowdogs!⭐
