Thanks your video helped me out. A tip for that bolt for the pump on the bottom is to use a offset box end wrench. Fits perfectly in there without the need to loosen the pulley to have more space. Did this job in an hour and half since I replaced the reservoir and hose as well.
Appreciate the video man. My 04 tl pump is whining bad. I might do the seals first. That's the first time I've seen someone remove that pulley like that! It's bitch trying to take the nut off of a pulley. Well dons
Is this pump self-priming? Can it suck the fluid from the reservoir when pump is empty? Or do you need to prime the pump by pouring the fluid from the top (outlet) fitting?
Thank you. Very great advice. The parts they bought didn't come with an o ring for the metal hose but that can easily be replaced on its own with just two bolt's. Might make a video just for that
The belt staying on was part of my strategy. As for removing the pump with the pulley that was also covered in the video. The pulley being loose before removal also gives you more clearance to reach the bolts that's hard to reach.
Normally I wouldn't change a part unless it needs to be changed but this is such an easy job. Might as well change the serpentine belt and pump o rings whole they're off too

That's for the tip. Glad the video can help someone
Best video I’ve seen for the power steering pump on the older Acura model. Very helpful. Good job.

Excellent directions and camera work. Thanks!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it
That's a good tip to loosen the pulley nut. I was thinking I would have to find someone with an impact wrench. Thanks!
Great instructions bro gonna give it a try on my 6speed TL!
Update it worked thanks again man
Hey thanks. happy it worked for you

Great for holding water pump pulleys with fan clutches when removing bolts alsoif you don't have the water pump wrench
Good video

FYI to all watching ....most important is replace the o ring on the high pressure hose

U mean low pressure hose. The high one is on the other side my dude.
But you’re right about the o ring tho, I give you that!

Remove pump with pulley still intact and THEN swap pullies.
Why?
@@Davethemechanic305 the same reason you didnt
@@joshpaschal17 I thought you watched the wrong video
I would probably take the belt off first. Remove the pulley with the pump off of the engine

When should I change the pump
I'm having show my power steering leak in because I see a hole in my hose and I'm not sure if I should just do this to😮
