Providing your painting your object all in the same day , no sanding is required . Just sand your primer and start painting . If you have sprayed your black and left it over night then a scuff with grey scotchbrite is required to key the surface
Awesome vid mate very informative. I've got a question for ya. I'm working on a r33 at home. Its been resprayed in its life once before. Do I need to go to metal or can I just sand with 180, 240, 320 and then prime? What would be your thoughts?
Ok so you don’t need to go bare metal . Bare metals are really for older classic cars to give them another life . If your just wanting a Color change or to fix a few things up then sanding with 240-320 then priming is fine . The only time you would need to go as low as 180 is if you were sanding body filler . Thanks Mark for sharing your knowledge. :) Saw a few cars suffer from the 'tiger stripe' syndrome at the last cars and coffee I took the Willys too. Seemed to be worse on roofs. That is from not doing the 50% overlap correct?
@@BogDustForBreakfast I want to raptor line my car but I want to add flakes. I'm not a professional im just really trying to get a cheap good looking paint job. I was going to just put flakes into hardener and hopefully that would work. I dont have a spray gun to put clear. I thought I could work around it
@@BogDustForBreakfast raptor line comes with a substance then apply hardener then color and spray but I was thinking just add blue flake to hardener then mix it and spray
@@CowOnMobile are you talking about raptorliner the protective coating ? And your wanting the put metal flake on the top ? That’s a good question . If it was me I’d be contacting UPOL and asking their tech person . As a guess and something to try on a test panel , is while the raptor is still wet use a dry flake gun and spray flake on it . Apart from that I wouldn’t recommend spraying hardner on top or raptor . Again this is all questions for Upol who makes raptor

Why do you spray black paint on and then sand it off ?
black paint is sprayed so when i sand the part i can see what's been sanded and what hasn't

@@BogDustForBreakfast how come I can’t put the flake in the raptor liner bottle. I’ve been doing hours of research and can’t find anything.
What mask do you wear. Hard to get good advice as supplied air is always advised
