i was at the front of that, there was 1 security guard that held us up for like 30 secs or so, but people got around and he gave up, tho he was an absolute unit

Not until the course car has past. The track hasn't been invaded like this before.
@@ajfromwa1 yes it has. 2017 they were running on the track in front of cars on the in lap. That's my point, this happens far too often

@@Matthew-ll9ke Also, on the 2018 cooldown lap towards the pit entry/in the last corners, iirc correctly, & last year, paddock guests got access to the pit lane during the final lap while Albon was driving down the fast lane after his late pit stop, so premature track invasion & other similar situations seem to be an Albert Park-specific issue.
At this rate, even a suspension from next year's race calendar (I read about this extreme possibility elsewhere) would be unsurprising.
2017 is not "every year". I've worked as a track Marshal since 2007.

The aus gp seriously needs a better security company, like the Schumacher stand was fully invaded with people without tickets
security was pretty bad, this stand was right opposite mine and you could see everyone just breaking down fences to get onto the track and security literally got crushed and could do nothing in the end... also the fact that there were no exits after the podium procedures there was a massive crush from everyone trying to get out
Blowing a whistle from the other side of the course trying to get them to stay back. Feeling helpless to do anything while they maniacally laugh at you. Btw the course car never got the opportunity to come out because of the invasion.

Tbh the commentator said they were red flagging the last sesh, so everyone thought the race was going to end in the pits

Doesn’t matter - no fans should breach the track and it is extremely dangerous to do so, especially when cars are running through
