Big E has seen the future. And who knows what may come. Our failure STILL might just be temporary.

The Emperor wasn't pleased that 50 thousands are butchered in that rebellion. While he certainly want a decisive end to the conflict, one thing to note is that the Thunder Warriors are notoriously unstable and prone to excessive violence. They are more or less barbarians with advanced equipments. It is one of the reasons why the Emperor decided to phase them out to make room for the Space Marines.
And in case you didn't catch the ending, the Priest said that the the broken clock will move when impending danger come. It basically is saying "This is the beginning of the end."

I believe the reason why big E had the whole 50,000 army slaughtered was to set an example a very bloody one but one that in this era in this place in this universe needed to be set

You can also see it as if those people rebelled once, what would stop them from trying to do so again if given the chance? Realistically you can't allow those people to return to a society you want to create, Big E wants order in his Humanity, so that Humanity cannot have those who are willing to rebel multiple times if given the opportunity.
We can kinda see it in our time, how in some places criminals are being let go instead of being punished, only for them to carry on with committing crimes and harming others, you are correct though, setting an example with the slaughter of 50,000 people in the most brutal ways possible would prove to a powerful message to those who opposed The Emperor.

The actual reason was that it was one of the earliest examples of the Thunder Warriors becoming unstable. The Emperor made his way after hearing of what happened, both sorrowed and angered. When The Emperor spoke to Uriah after the battle, it was out of frustration, to say this could have been avoided if they just complied. The Emperor knew the Thunder Warriors were becoming unstable and unpredictable in their conduct, which is why he had them out down, but not before many tragedies like that one occurred. One good thing I can say about the Emperor is that he never denied his culpability when something went wrong or he did something immoral.

Not exactly. Thunder warriors triggered happiness got the better of them. When first shots were fired it's was already enough to send a message but instead they decided to chase the army that was leaving weapons behind and running for their dear life. Not that imperium of man wouldn't do the same to be honest.

So, here's the thing about 1:28:09: the Emperor's goal is justifiable and he does love humanity and wants to see it grow...but he's also one of the biggest hypocrites. Humanity didn't fail the Emperor, a lot of 40k delves into just how imperfect and apathetic he could be. The best place to see this is how he handles his sons, the Primarchs. The funniest thing is that the warning the priest gives the emperor before throwing himself to the fire is directly referencing the Horus Heresy long before it could even begin.

Bro, I recommend you react to The Amber King video. Most of the videos is like 1 to 2 hours long but he tell a really good and detail story from the character perspective and what they go through in eacth novels compare to other lore video that just info dump.
If you don't know what to start with, I recommend The tragic life of Konrad Curze. It's a really good tragic story.

Cool thing about the aftermath of this story, The Emperor kept the time piece.
Also if you think the Emperor would be pissed about being called a God? The whole of the Horus Heresy happened because the Emperor punished the 17th legion (Word Bearers) for converting people into worshiping him as a God.
We learn, later, that there is a prophecy that there's going to be a human ascend to Godhood and ruin manhind basically like Slaanesh did to the Eldar. During the siege of Terra, Horus was so powerful that the Emperor felt the need to ascend himself to Godhood and realise the prophecy, but at the last moment he refused the power, separing from himself all his love, goodness and restraint. The Emperor that is on the throne is cruel, ruthless and tyranical. While his good half is in the warp. There's a theory that, this good half is what is worshipped by mankind, and gains power from peoples worship, and performs the miracles that the sisters of battle manifest.

At some point in the future if/when you decide to check out some of the space marine legions, I would highly recommend A Vox in the Void. Exceptionally high quality well written 30k/40k audio dramas.
Got a favourite space marine legion at this time?

To my knowledge the reason why the emperor bans religion because he thought he could weaken the chaos gods by drain them from worship but the problem with that theory is that chaos doesn't necessarily need worshiping to survive they feed on emotions from sentient species across all the galaxy and religion is just another emotion and intense one but if you need to understand the nature of chaos I recommend The chaos gods are the good guys? By weshammer it is informative channel (please Inquisition this comment is for educational reasons only don't send anyone to my house)

    1:27:51
    See, here is where I heavily disagree with you. You keep talking about how great his vision is and how much he loves mankind, but;
    1) We don’t KNOW his vision. It might be fucking horrible.
    2) We owe nothing to the Emperor
    3) If his vision is to turn us into something we aren’t (wich is what he is doing. He has innocent people killed for their beliefs so others obey him), HE doesn’t deserve US. He only loves his vision of humanity, not what we are. He is not a human, and he can therefore never lead humanity.
You seem to think the Emperor is a hero. He is not. He never was. He is at best a machine, and to me quite obviously a villain. There were dozens of human groups out there who lived peaceful lives after the Age of Strife and were no threat to the Imperium. There were even humans who had peacefully allied with aliens, but the Emperor had them all murdered because they wouldn’t obey HIM.
There’s a reason the clock struck midnight when he burned down the last church: he was always doomed to fail. As I said, the Emperor isn’t human. He can never understand humans. Uriah told him again and again he can’t control, what people believe, and he was right. The way he seeks to control humanity is trough fear of punishment, and that has never worked.

The quality of arguments, both for and against faith, are pretty low. Unfortunate, as this story could have had the potential to be the one of the most compelling pieces of fiction, addressing real theology, history, and mythology, using logic and reason to smash each other.
