I love watching these videos of smooth operators and their machines. I don't think this would be as easy in Nova Scotia, where sand does not dominate the earth. Show me a video with a base of granite rules the surface.
That bucket's like something out of "War of the worlds"! Plus the very first rock I've seen on any of your videos, I can't believe how fine that soil is.
Thanks for the great video mate ,you are a genius on that machine you operate it like it's part of you ,was a plumber for thirty odd years and worked on big civil jobs ,and having a good operator makes life so much easier ,lots of people will tell you how good they are but once in the machine there's nowhere to hide .And it's 40*C here today so seeing sleet on your windows looks appealing ,lucky we live at the beach and no fires yet ,Cheers from down under.
You can see when scratching the surface: sand and clay store the water very well, do not release it 100%. Fortunately for MrAj, sand and clay can be leveled well. This is what the result of his work looks like! (translate from german with google)
Nice work sir and thank you. The addition of that "V" bucket has increased your productivity nicely and you seem to be able to dig more lineal meter of ditch per video. :) Please continue with the great videos! Which model of Volvo are you driving on this project? The speed of the hydraulics appears like the Volvo 220 series but I am only guessing at that.
Nice work, but I'm wondering why that ditch was so full of water in the first place. Wouldn't it make more sense to start digging that trench near the drainage point and work your way down the road? Or is this intentional? Does the weight of the water compact the ground or something like that?
If that is a logging road, it must be one way in and another way out or their trucks are tiny. No 8' trucks are gonna be passing each other on that quagmire road. As noted below, that culvert looks too high and pitching the wrong direction. I love how the water found its own way across the road, put the culvert there. Nice work using that laser on the boom. 🚍
there are changing areas for cars on the forest road.the culvert is at the right place and height. When the road is completed I will show you what it looks like. The road is dug for the flow of water.😉
Is the laser-receiver connected to the controller so it assists you in controlling the depth of the spoon or is it only a visual indicator? Sometimes it looks like you do a recalibration.
in Russia they pay a lot for such work, 5 thousand rubles a month, but it is a little more complicated, since there are no tractors in Russia, ditches are dripping with a shovel

If everyone in Latvia has your commitment to doing a great job, Latvia must be a great place to work. Many thanks Mr AJ... Mr AJ does WORK. I, like another viewer, like the exyernal shots, but, as we saw, the mud splash is bad for the camera
Does the small screen with the machine depicted tell you the depth of cut? Or is there some other unseen device doing that? Also liked the camera shot from outside.

Call me crazy but watching the smooth and fluid movements of someone who knows how to operate is very relaxing.
I just said the same...it's been two hours since I started watching these videos. I need to get a life..lol
I really like all the videos about draining the flood water from the Big Forest. You GREAT videos.

MrAj works with head and hand (over the machine). I like it very much!
It is not easy to remove the water, when everything is equally wet.

Understanding nature and gravity is your friend.
Do the two prongs (fangs) at the bottom of the Vee ditch bucket serve any purpose other than alignment when extending the ditch ?
When digging a ditch, the teeth of the bucket help to dig a stone or a root that has remained in the ground very well.
This beats doing draining puddles with your wellies. :)
I was eating my KD with a fork....after 2 mins of this i went to grab a spoon.
