Forest road. The length of the road is 5km.Everything is very wet and groundwater is very high. There is also a very rainy forest and because of the excavation of the ditch is immediately full of water. The soil in this place is clay. The road breaks at the end of the video because there was no culvert all the time and water had to run to the other side.

I love watching these videos of smooth operators and their machines. I don't think this would be as easy in Nova Scotia, where sand does not dominate the earth. Show me a video with a base of granite rules the surface.

You can see when scratching the surface: sand and clay store the water very well, do not release it 100%.
Fortunately for MrAj, sand and clay can be leveled well. This is what the result of his work looks like! (translate from german with google)

If that is a logging road, it must be one way in and another way out or their trucks are tiny. No 8' trucks are gonna be passing each other on that quagmire road. As noted below, that culvert looks too high and pitching the wrong direction. I love how the water found its own way across the road, put the culvert there. Nice work using that laser on the boom. 🚍

Or is this intentional? Does the weight of the water compact the ground or something like that?

Ian H Ian thought the same thing to ( and I'm a year younger)I've been plumbing for thirty odd years ,and had many a "discussion "with architects and civil engineers that no matter how good it looks on paper you can't make water flow uphill ,anyway retired now so it's not my problem anymore. Cheers from down under.
