There is one more thing to do before you leave this road. The area of the road where the large puddles were located must be filled with excavated soil so that no more water accumulates in it. While digging all the ditches, we thought that this place would drain and stay drier. But it was raining all the time and nothing was drier. Therefore, wet clay (now mud) must be set aside. When loading the ground, I create a ready road base, where sand (30cm) and gravel (20cm) will fill on top.. The material we carry is still wet and therefore the dump truck sinks down with its load. When the material dries, everything will be ok. A ditch on the other side(right side) of the road has also already been dug. Therefore, all the ditches on this road have been dug.

No it is wet black earth with clay.When there was a puddle, the black earth could not be removed😉

Why is the drainage so bad? And how much more work will you have on this site.
drainage is not bad, just when all the big water flowed away rinsed the ditch with mud (it usually happens) .Then the ditch is cleaned and everything is ok.There are still a few months of work here. The foundation of the road must be leveled and the sand and gravel filled. The ditches must then be completed with black earth😉
@@MrAJWorks that makes sence that the ditches are filled, here in the UK we put agrigate and rocks in them to enable draining. It's unimaginable how much earth you have moved and it makes for a great watch!! Thanks for the amazing work 👍👍
What becomes of all the material piled along the sides of the road ? Is that clearing part of your contract ? Will culverts be installed as well ?

why don't you use geotextile? won't that sand sink?
No geotextile is needed here. The foundation under the mud is solid. The filled material will dry out and will be ok😉

I don’t know a thing about engineering etc etc, but wouldn’t running some kind of grader over it all do the job?
Here the grader definitely does not fit. It would be a bulldozer, but was not available at the time😉

At 0:55. What was the reason for tapping in the grade stake? Pissing off the surveyor or narrowing in on finish grade? What a mudpile.
The reason is that he does not tip over when pushing past the mud.There was no mark on the grade stake,he was there to see the side of the road.So nothing bad😉
