And 51K a year is very little. Need to be, at least, in the role of1099: 77K-80K. Food, rent-mortgage are on the moon. Cost of living is tough. Clients are paying s...t because there a lot "dead of famine " working with capcut, and things like that for nothing.
Hmmm 15 minutes long video for 5 hours only? Can you make a video about this? I am editing a 15-20minutes long VSL videos with plenty motion graphics and it took me 1 week. So please make a content on how you edit that fast. How fast is your machine? Because mine is very slow that also contributes to slow editing.
This is a general time quote for a talking head style video with text-based graphical elements. Times change depending on clients and the video. But generally speaking, the more motion graphics there will be, the more you should charge. Video editors and clients tend to conflate video editing and motion graphics, when really, motion graphics is a separate skill set and takes a lot longer to execute well (depending on what you're doing). I only include basic text motion graphics and transitions. Anything more complex will be billed at a different rate. Slow computer: always proxy your files. That'll let you edit footage on a 10 year old computer and it'll be buttery smooth on the timeline. I've made a couple videos on the important of making proxies so check that out! For motion graphics you'll need more demanding specs. Make sure you have a good graphics card and have an SSD/m.2 drive setup as a cache along with lots of RAM.
If you want to go by only your years of experience: if you have 1-2 years of experience start at around $200. More experience, charge more. If they have more than 100k subs and are making money from their channel, up the rate.

Random question but what kind of mic arm are you using? I really like the look of it.

thanks, its a great help
thanks for the information!! I usually charge very less but i would have to changed my prices .
Level up! You can do it. ⭐
Yess sir😎@@yousefcreative
2:40 why multiply by 3? (12x3) I don't get it
Cause you have to pay your own taxes, pay for your own medical insurance, save for your own 401k and pay for your own equipment to do your job.
@@yousefcreative aahh.. I see. Thanks for the reply.

If someone wants a finished video to be 15min long, how much video is a good amount to tell a client you'll work from to make the 15min video?

@yousefveartist
Thanks. I wanted to know if you limit how much raw footage you'll edit to get a 15-minute video?
@@oliviapaige2967 Usually around 1 hour of raw footage max.
@@yousefcreative Thank you :)
