Hello Tay La Dawn! Congratulations! You and Queen Eleem killed the DYI Micro loc community! I cut off my SL`s two years ago. I have been a Loosie for two years. I decided to get locs again! Girl! since COVID, the SL and micro loc prices have been ridiculous! I 'am in NY. Even though I could afford to get SLs or Microlocs, I refuse to spend over a $1200-$2000 for them. You and Queen Eleem have given this OG the inspiration to install my micro locs myself. My husband said he will help me with the parting! Its a GO this weekend! Your locs are BEAUTIFUL !!! I was just about to compliment your loctician because your locs on the perimeter are so full and neat. All the way across. I had little stumpy baby locs that refused to hold up even 6 yrs into my locs. Then I realized you are DIY wow great install.
I started my locs because of you and Queen Eleem. But because of major OCD, I have started over 4xs. Note: Didn't know I had OCD until I started my loc journey 😢...Anyway I'mma try again following your guide because I really want them before I turn 50 this year. I really don't want to be going into my 50's messing with loose hair. I've had enough my fun with that.....And of course I want to tell you that you are my loc crush. Your locs are STELLAR ❤❤❤

Hi Tay. You encouraged me to continue my loc journey after installing two strand twists. Glad to see you going strong. I reluctantly switched to palm rolling after year, but now want to revert to interlocking. We'll see what happens 😊

My ends were loose like that in the front as well, and I started lightly spraying the water on my ends and lightly squeezing the water in those locs, and it worked to loc my ends.
Your hair is beautiful! Im almost 3 years and never use oil. However, I use the sisterlock conditioner and rose water.. my hair and scalp never dry. ❤

Omg... The 2 locs on either side of my head; i call them my sideburn locs... They do the exact same thing, THEY DO NOT ACT RIGHT!!! 3½ years in and they both slip right out every wash day. I have to baby them and braid and band them in order for them to keep from totally slipping out. I've tried putting extension hair in them to keep them from coming out, but as soon as water touches my hair they slip out. I'll just have to keep braiding and banding those 2 loc areas until they behave.

Tay, your hair looks AMAZING!! You did a wonderful job installing your locs and an equally wonderful job maintaining them. I have areas that thin and/or break and I just grow it out enough to start a new loc so I have several little baby locs. It is what it is. I color my hair so I don't have any obvious buildup... do you ever do an apple cider rinse? That helps break up build up. So how is it to sleep on those knots??
Hey! The knots don't bother me at all. I'm able to tuck them behind my head as I sleep on my side most of the time.
I loc’d my hair (DIY ) after watching you and queen Eleem. I am on month 31! And never been happier. Your hair looks amazing and has so much growth!!!!! Happy 4 years
