The animation really gives the viewer a good sense of the panic he feels when he is walking toward her house.
Hope you like my animation and music goo.gl/hzX1rF

I had a goldish that lived for 8 years. His names was James Pond. He sadly passed away 3 weeks ago.
Sorry for your loss.
I had a cat and my raccoon cut his tail.
+Kaiman Likes Pie sorry for your lost
i had 2 goldfish that lived one 11 and the other 13 years. the trick is to just feed them a good amount every 3 days.
Kainam Likes Pie had a fish that was really small and lived 5-6 years, he passed away in August
I love it when he finally plucks up the courage to say hello to her and how you can see his body language slowly becoming more relaxed as she continues to talk to him :)
He taps his helmet to keep a rythmetic beat and stay calm, like what those metronomes do. Just a guess though
No!!!! Don't say!!!! -_-
Just wanted to share my experience. Because I do a similar thing. I have Anxiety disorder. Whenever I get a wave of panic/anxiety. I tap my head (with my hand) in a similar rhythm... It kind of keeps me grounded in reality a bit without feeling too overwhelmed because for me when that wave of panic or anxiety settles in...my thoughts can start drowning out everything around me and that kind of silence is scary so the head tapping kinda checks me in back to reality and it’s also a self embracing/comforting thing. To me at least.
@@bokukae1801 don't say what ?
i watched this the second time before I realized that the girl is a complete opposite to the main character, as he is obsessive yet she is a scatterbrain, it is interesting to see how they suggested that opposites to attract when making this animation. very well done
You make a legit series about this. I'm not kidding, it looks like a something I would watch on a Wednesday. Kudos to the whole team that worked on this, and I really love this.
To quote Robert Frost,"I took the road least traveled; and that made all the difference.."
May that shy soul find his happiness..
Well, the animation was interesting and also one of my favorite animations. Actually, I am diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, but with milder symptoms; like my fixation on art like cartoons and animation (lol), awkwardly social or lack certain social skills, sensitivity with loud noises (burts of a balloon, which I struggled to overcome it), and little stereotypical routines which I already noticed. I know that I struggled a lot in middle school back then, and bullying, but not anymore as today im attending college and noticed more improvement on my social skills.
Besides, Asperger Syndrome is a rare variety of autism. Boys have an easy chance of inheriting, but rare on girls. And yeah I'm rare with AS and im proud of it.
Users, people with the syndromehave an easier chance of changing the world. If you look up at famous people with Asperger Syndrome, or look up for information about it, don't feel indifferent, because they are still human and are alive as everyone is.
Good animation for the Animation Workshop, like.
Thanks.
+not in my world It's not really rare in girls, I have Asperger's syndrome as well.
It's really just that girls are more deceptive by nature and there's a lot of social cues to learn as children. Girls with Asperger's sometimes fly under the radar because of this and can slip through the cracks of the Asperger's diagnosis.
It's a difficult syndrome to pinpoint in numbers because so many of us "seem normal" or "don't look like we have a disability", it's annoying, but due to this factor the numbers of people with Asperger's can't be overly correct.
I've met so many people without a diagnosis that are definitely on the spectrum, but don't have the paperwork to make it official.
Thank you for this, I'm currently going through a rough time in school right now, it's my last year then college and I'm terrified. 😔
+Rain Willow Pixie Well actually, I'm in college and there were no problems with other students. Middle was the biggest challenge ever done. High School, absolutely nothing important. I believe you'll be fine, its just the fact we have to make friends.

All that bound with fear and ache,
Who sense to feel the world at stake.
And ease within the structure home,
Shall never grand the outer roam.
Yet worry heart his golden friend,
Shall brave the world with steady end.
But fate arrive that send to greet,
To say hello, of a girl he meet.
I love this little poem! where is it from if I may ask? :)

From me and only me
Cedric Scorch Bravo! You are very talented! :)
Thank you. Glad they you like it :)
You're welcome :)
to me the moral of this animation is:
"there is always that one person that can change another person's life"
or
"you cant fight your battles alone " :P
I keep coming back to this occasionally and I only just noticed 3:04, how the house is slightly distorted because he's panicking.
That attention to detail is one of the reasons why this is one of my favorite original animations on UA-cam.
I'm very nervous meeting people until I get to know them then I don't shut up.
relatable
JDM Dragon are you my twin?
+Fashion Queen Idk, probabaly.
Sadly, no. You're both just human.
JDM Dragon I'm normally dead quiet and everyone can forget about me for a little bit or I just can't stop talking 😂
When he said "you're my only friend" I wanted to cry I felt bad for him :(
Odd, but cute and incredibly creative
It's easy to overlook all the effort it takes to bring a short feature like this one to your screen. Bravo!
Thank you for making this short as i suffer from agoraphobia and social anxiety. This is a grate way of reflecting what people with this experience each day. I force myself past it each day as i will not let it control me.
This is interesting, would love to see a continuation of some kind.
Yeah, maybe like a little peek at what happened next. Would he start getting to know people and cure his phobias (I'm pretty sure he has more than one phobia) or maybe he just shuts himself off of the world because he did something forgivable and harmless to her but took it the wrong way and shuts himself off but she tells him that it's okay and harmless and such.
I think this would make a wonderful series about stepping into the unknown and leaving your comfort zone.
Something that interests me is those distinct dashed lines marking everythings' place. I wonder if those physically exist which Allan literally marked up the house with, or if they're just a visual "inside his head" to convey to the audience how he sees his world.
Cedric Scorch
Bounded by the fear and anxiety of change,
Obsessed with keeping control in range,
Avoiding any danger everyday,
He grows accustomed to keeping life a certain way.
Sanctifying of daily routines becomes obsession,
White chalk outlines all his possessions.
At ease within the structure of his home,
door always shut to the outside dome.
Choosing to brave death to allow life for a friend,
He believes the world is out to get him until the very end.
A bright room greets him warmly,
a shy hello he greets her formally.
Sitting beside him-her motor still running as he freezes,
realizing her condition is opposite his- his body slowly eases.
As she spoke not one word he could utter,
for not understanding people- he understands a heart's flutter.
Love it
Thank you :)
aw that's quite beautiful
Sukyhoi Thank you! The video did most of the work lol
We
3:44 .. I feel that represents the events will take place later on, sort of....like foreshadowing! It's not in the perfect place, it's not in his perfect place, it's out of RANGE out of BOUNDS...just like the moment he wakes up outside of his house, inside Sophie's home. I love how his reaction was a nervous "hello" but doesn't do anything/say anything else. Surely he would have panicked if it were someone else, but because it was Sophie he was calm. It's like the beginning of a lighter world for him.
Well, this seems the beginning of a great love-story :)
The style of this animation was a really good match with the storytelling. Cute overall, a little quirky, and quite endearing
I really like the detail that at the last second the fish also have found a "new girlfriend" :)
This is a beautiful piece. Teaching us to challenge and test our boundaries.
I always watch this animation on my birthday. It's been a decade since I started this tradition
Thank you! 😊 Please share it around!
Aaawwww this is adorable! And the perspective is FANTASTIC.
It's refreshing to see CG animation that doesn't look like rubber people.
I am highly impressed! I was looking for some cartoons for my son to watch, not even knowing what this short was about. My son is 5 yrs old & Autistic. (He's been "nonverbal" until just recently!-im so proud of him, he's doing so well with his speech & words- it's blowing my mind actually!) Anyway... I don't know what specific disorder this short is aiming to portray, but as a Mom of Autism, I related to it within seconds of it playing. My immediate thoughts were, "Is this about Autism?!" - Whether he's supposed to be Autistic or not, the way he processed thoughts & information, rationalized, & his overall general behavior is EXACTLY like my son. The creators of this short have my full respect! Choosing such a topic to base their film on in the first place is commendable, but also for their INCREDIBLE depiction of what is reality & every day life for so many! GREAT JOB! Highly impressed!
That fish would have clogged up my toilet! It was too big to flush. Lol
HeyPeeps ImLizzie
aww now he has a real friend
And thus....The first twangs of the song of love are strummed......So CUTE!!! I have OCD....But it is no where near as bad as this poor fellow....But there are....Odd things that I think I do that maybe I don't need to....But they are a must to do....Like closing doors when I leave a room....It takes everything in me to leave a door open when Ive left a room....Or not having lights on that are not being used.....NEVER leave the TV on when you sleep.....Just little things like that....LOLZ!!!
Fushicho Kurayami This isn't OCD, it's agoraphobia. He demonstrates some symptoms of OCD, so theres a chance there might be some co-morbiduty with it, However its hard to differentiate whether its a symptom of agoraphobia or OCD.
Fushicho Kurayami Yeah agreed. It all begins omewhere. :D
Jazz Clements I think he had both OCD and agoraphobia. OCD is when he turns the doorknob 3 times and hits his head 3 times. Fear of leaving his home could be associated with social fears and or contamination issues.
Kara Lowe I'm wrong I just read the blog for this film and he suffers from Asperger
that was an amazing short little animation, pixar quality
Thanks for this. It was fun to watch not only for the animation and story line but also trying to pick out the various mental-health issues the poor guy was afflicted with. Once again, thank you!
he actually said hello, wow!
FNAF FRIENDS lol
Well done! I would love to see more animated shorts about him and his neighbor. Definately heartfull and heartfelt!
reminds me of a cousin from my mom. he was also scared to go outside for some reason - but my mum helped and encouraged him and now, he's a lucky/happy man =)
This by far one of my most favourite animations!
Good imagination! Loved the helmet and spoon...
Her home is a soothing place. ✨
Beautiful story, animation, character !!!
One of my faves!
This is so beautiful. 4 of my little brothers have Autism, and to see it displayed like this instead of a mental illness or a disease is just amazing.
My little brother has this, and he is only 8, some times he pulls out his eyelashes and knows a lot of things, I think this is beautiful, it lets you look into the eyes of an autistic child ❤️❤️
I love how he's so frank.
This short is soo beautiful!it is different and my kind a taste of story. It shows that 'special person' still have hope.
So sweet. Everyone can get better. Really really sweet little animation
He's a happy little fish now. ;D
1:48 That fish ate more than my fish eats in a week in three seconds. Somehow my fish is still alive.
I. *LOVED*. This. So. Gosh. Dang. *Much*.
Adorable I love this, I need more of this, now where's my fanfiction
Beautiful animation ! Thanks for sharing your art.
I really love the coloring style!
I love this too much for words to express
THE FISH LOOK SO AMAZING!!
Love this beautiful Short Film 🎥🍿happy fish 🐠💖👀
My younger brother is middle-lower functioning autistic, and I have mild cerebral palsy that resulted in hemiparesis...this was rather unique to watch.
***** I have spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. Let's talk!!! :D
Delightful and sweet story!
This is beautiful.
This was amazing
That...was....ADORABLE!
...and a very good message as well!
:)
He's so aganised with everything and gets scared outside 😲
it's really unfair CG Bros, you making my life very tough... I have to work for 12 hours and still I have to fight with myself to get some time for these videos. you are just mind blowing
What a powerful message!
Beautifully done
this was amazing and so cute
This is why I love short films.
This is so sweet!
Loved this! Thought it was great and imaginativr
This was just perfect😍🐠
Some people with OCD have the same anxiety, excellent mini film. Thanks
Man, i like this film a lot
i love it! you touched on a subject that basically gets ignored. Good work!👍
Truly Amazing!~
Very well put together, I liked it alot. :o)
I think that he has OCD. The things on his walls and in this fridge were lined up perfectly and straight. He does certain things like flicking the light switch or turning the door nob several times before he's content. He's also worried about the dangers that he could encounter if he goes outside. He was also scarred when somebody was too close to him because they could be infested with things like germs or illnesses. I think that it was cool though how the video didn't actually mention it.
I just loooooooved it
I believe he had OCD and agoraphobia, which wonderfully portrayed in this short. His love for Paul is how I was with my first fish.
+Tracey Allen what did she have though? it seemed like she wouldn't be able to stop talking ; P
@@fumomofumosarum5893 she could have autism, some can be extremely social as some of us don't know when to stop talking. You either get silence or a whole speech lol.
3:35 Pay attention to the pictures behind him, amazing little details.
I love this!
He has OCD, hence the flickering of the light switch and jiggling of the door knob. Extreme fear/anxiety, agoraphobia. 😔😔 great animation.
this was amazing
Such a cute ending!!^^
This is really what it can feel like.
This is cute! I love it!
I get that way just at the thought of taking ouy the trash.... day, night, doesn't matter.... I keep my head on a swivel and I'm practically running and yeeting the trash into the trash can, not sticking around long enough to make sure it actually went in or not, and running back inside before whoever the hell may or may not be lurking about waiting to rob, shoot, or kidnap me gets the chance to even chase... even though there's literally nobody else outside..... Even though it's not that likely that I'd randomly become a victim of a violent crime just for taking out the trash in those 30 seconds.... But even knowing that, the thought of a random passersby or even a neighbor that happens to come outside at that time and see me hauling ass is the most gut wrenching feeling of sheer shame and embarrassment and panic that they're seeing me like this and thinking I'm friggen psychotic.... So then I lock myself inside my house, inside my room, with the windows locked, blinds closed and lights off while trying to be as silent as possible so that hopefully they forget I exist, forget whatever the hell situation just happened, and just go away with their own business...... I feel I can't even leave my own home..... And anything delivered, I wait till they walk away out of sight before I open my door and retrieve whatever was delivered before it gets stolen.... Because I know for a damn fact if that happened, whatever it was, it doesn't exist anymore. It was just completely deleted from existing anymore as far as Im concerned because going knocking on the neighbors doors and asking if they seen anything is COMPLETELY 100% out of the question and isn't even an idea I'd touch with a 10 foot pole..... Its like being on house arrest, but you never committed a crime in the first place, nobody's arrested you at all, and you have the complete freedom to leave if you wanted, there's no cuff or monitor keeping you in.... But that fear.... that stupid tiny little hint of fear, is strong enough to keep you locked up like fort knox in your home.......... i hate it.... and I can't even get help because I'd have to go to the help.... I can't have the help come to me because my family don't believe in mental disorders i guess? Or they don't believe someone in their family would possibly have one...... Idfk.... All i know is I'd just be called a hypochondriac anyways and ridiculed for trying to seek help..... so help is nonexistent......
so relatable, so good :)
Wow, it's wonderful :)
awesome work, thanks
Awesome!
Beautiful
This gave me hope the first time I saw it.
What I think of the message of the story is go out to the world and have life with friends and family because it's hard to survive if you're alone especially in this harsh era...
Loved it.
That was cute.
You know you could just put the goldfish in a 10g tank with a filter and it would live longer.
This man probably has a mixture of mental diseases. Aspergers (a mild form of autism) and OCD are a definite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to criticize, my cousin has these two mental diseases alongside ADD. He even acts very much so like this. I find it uplifting when i see things like this. It makes me feel like he still has a great chance. I loved this animation, and props to the creators.
fucken wrong. two things a mild form of autism? it varies you ignorant idiot. he dosent have aspergers either trust me i know. talking from exsperience
Um, aspergers means we are social awkward and don't connect well with people because we don't innately know how to react or feel in certain reactions. This is all in varying degrees from person to person. (Like Kieren above, I have it also.)
This man actually shows more of a case of Agoraphobia and OCD, he's afraid of the outside and it's many perils and he has little to no control, which from how he has built his home, is something he very much likes. He's OCD because of the preciseness and repetitive actions he completes to reduce his anxiety. OCD is also noted for causing cases of agoraphobia. These two are also in varying degrees and have different triggers and quirks to them. Such is the way of mental abnormalities.
13thMaiden he does stim; autistic people stim???
i see comorbid autism, OCD, and agoraphobia (amy could've caused any).
and i'm autistic too, so i'm not pulling this out of my ass.
Sorry some people were so harsh. However, you are wrong in many ways in your comment. Please know that a chemical imbalance in the brain is not a disease. It causes many disabilities on many levels. Phobias, depression, autism and much more. As for autism there is a spectrum and asperger's is high on that scale with varied severity itself. Try to learn more. It may help you understand your cousin more. Also chemical imbalances are often hereditary and skip some generation. Knowledge can help you show kindness to others who live these lives.
for different reasons, 2 recluses, brought together. sweet little vid!
This is a very nice animation. Good job, keep it up.
Oh cool you have a tank, thats the way to go, glad you have a clever caring neighbor
amazing imagination nice work ppl
