@@olivia.8152 didnt he literally show that these zombies are still humans by staying around after the emotional outburst? anyone with a brain watching this footage knows that these are just people with mental issues, which isnt that hard to undersand since these zombies havent had much social contact in years
Seeing the evidence of Andy wearing himself down with his nervous tics, his arm and neck worn down, resonate with me. It fleshed him out immediately in my eyes (no pun intended). This is masterful work
One noticeable thing to me is that Andy is content in his "new" life as he isn't worrying about what he's lost by becoming a zombie while his friend is miserable thinking about the life he had 6 years ago. Acceptance is key to happiness.
But Andy is still very fragile overly enthusiastic and emotional, which means he's not really happy. I don't really think he's happy. I think he's just in denial.
They're both so cute! Andy is adorable and seems to be trying to make the best out of the situation while Don is clearly much less ok with everything but still does his best to help out and genuinely cares for Andy to the point where he'll continue on with what he considers a hopeless life just for him.
The moral of the animation is clearly just because you look like a monster doesn't make you one, and learning to accept some outcomes are a product of life and cannot be changed. This is no ones fault, its just a fact of life. I really enjoyed how the set up was centered around the zombies but the real focus was the reporter. I really enjoyed this and feel better having watched it. Thank you for it.
OR the message is about military people like normal soldiers, Whom get used as (some times) meat shields. They will send them out there ti fight even if they know they will die. Only for a military strategy or something. I think that's what Don, the big zombie was talking about. And the thin one, being nice and all, was showing to be "human" and the journalists called them a threat in pubblic. So yes, ur understanding was good but missed a little part :)
This is the display of human prejudice towards the ones that are different from the norm, propaganded by media, you can relate because you're probably part of a minority yourself. Close minded people see different from them as wrong, while in reality different is just different, nobody is better or worse than the other, and without any differences we would be all the same and all boring empty husks with no character
@@jeanzlarg6686 his intestine are out you think he've got energy for that I think the anger buildup is acceptable but ye I see where you coming from and respect but ye this is my point .

Don playing the harmonica for Andy is so heartwarming. They have been living together for years and they still fight but they are very close and that is adorable, hope they get a better house or something. I can see what Don has gone through just by him being so frustrated, it's great the person behind the camera caught him "apologising" to Andy.
Why can't I just get more of this in a feed? Way down the list I found this gem. AND immediately right back to disasters and horror. Maybe it's just me. I count this as a win. This writer an animator did a great job.
The camera man felt like the main character in fp games, you know the ones where the hero never talks yet everybody understands him as if he was saying the most insperational thing they've ever heard.
I want a whole movie of this! In just 6 minutes I'm already connected to the characters and wish I could watch their backstory and hopefully happy ending.
Amen! I felt like I was watching something like a mashup of Monster House and Trollhunter, animation mixed with the handheld camera “documentary” style. I really think it would do amazing as a full-length movie.
I like how the zombies are in apartment 13. It might be just me reading into it too much, but I think it’s a subtle hint reinforcing the idea that the zombies were just victims of circumstance.
I skipped ahead and my headcanon was like "Ohh they probably cured the neurological effects of zombification but not It's physical effects" And that was exactly right. That's a very good concept honestly.
baTman 77 there's different kinds of relationships I hope you get that LMAO. You can have relationship problems without actually being in a romantic relationship
I really love the subtle detail in Don's design where he wears a wedding ring. Even though he focuses on his career in his argument with Andy, the line "I had a life" goes so much deeper thanks to this one deatil. Who was his partner? Did he have children?
I've actually watched District 9 the plots could be seen as SIMILAR but the reporters have different stances on their respective topics. The reporter from District 9 if i remember correctly was more curious than concerned. Also I'm more talking, "cured" zombies, and societies stance on them. Like that movie Fido had an interesting look at it. and I find alien, and zombie themes tend to have different atmospheres.
In The Flesh is about reintegrating cured zombies back into society and it's really well done. It only got 2 short seasons but it's worth checking out. Some great characterisation.
Andy is such an amazing character, you can tell he's really trying to be a good person even in the shitty circumstances he finds himself in,Don is a really sympathetic character aswell,it must be hard to work all your life to gain some level of status in the corporate world only to have that taken away by something out of your control,he probably feels cheated as if all those years of hard work had been for nothing,I understand why he would be upset, but the fact that he's willing to put all that aside for his lover is really touching...
They're just 2 men who got imprisoned together because they got infected during the Zombie outbreak. Overtime they became friends. But after 6 years of being imprisoned together, they started to behave like an old married couple. Ya know? There's nothing gay about that! Just look at soldiers in the army or take a look at a prisoners cell, there are men who are trapped together and have to spend many years living with the same roommate. Not everything has to be fkn gay 😤
I think my favorite part of this short film is when Don starts to play the harmonica. Not just because of how emotionally heavy the moment is but the actual shot itself. You get a clear shot of his hand and the wedding ring he still wears on his finger. And that to me is just a fantastic example of showing and not telling during a story. It makes his "I had a life phrase" so much more meaningful.
@@distorted5589 I don't think so, I think these two guys got randomly shacked up as "roommates". The ring could have been from "his goddam life". Before he was a zombie.
*”the images speak for themselves”* I saw this video along time ago and have probably watched this more than once, but I still enjoy it each time. I really like the way the cameraman decides to stay, because our(the viewers’ of this UA-cam video and even the ‘viewers’ of the video of the story) understandings’ of what’s going on really relies on what the camera & camera man are showing us. What I got out of this video are 2 things: 1) that it’s media’s responsibility to show an honest image (because what they show is what many believe) 2) & that overall, people should hear things out and be open minded rather than running away when it gets difficult or scary. It’s important to hear out a whole situation and decided what something means for yourself, rather than run away like and form a belief from pieces of the truth like the reporter
Dragutin the Slav- Veliki except in reality, they are pushing the narrative of the filmmaker, not the cartoon newsmen. The news media bends over backwards to excuse and cover up for the scum of the earth - hamas, ms-13, Islamic rape gangs etc. Just like how this film does not show any zombie violence.
larry lovehandle you're kidding right, it didn't show any violence because there was none, the reporter spoke about a previous incident and used that to tar everyone with the same brush. Kind of like the far right to towards Muslims and the far left towards Jews. Everyone does this, can't just judge each situation on its own merits. This a problem with broadcasters like CNN and FOX, neither of them just say it as it is, both push their own spin on it. Can't just be objective. Then joe average will pick a side and ride that 🐂💩 as though their life counts on it. Lo and behold the *objective facts* get left by the wayside.
I love the line “Are you coming, or what? You’ve got my car keys!” implying that he wouldn’t have come back for his coworker had he had his car keys on him. It just shows how much more humanity Don and Andy have, than the actual unaffected humans.

@@petitesayo4542
For sure, these two have a side that needs balancing out.
Andy clearly had a "gd life" as well, but maybe doesn't talk about it as much because he doesn't want to make Don feel even worse.

Then they made the point they were trying to make
This is the display of human prejudice towards the ones that are different from the norm, propaganded by media, you can relate because you're probably part of a minority yourself. Close minded people see different from them as wrong, while in reality different is just different, nobody is better or worse than the other, and without any differences we would be all the same and all boring empty husks with no character

I really love the subtle detail in Don's design where he wears a wedding ring. Even though he focuses on his career in his argument with Andy, the line "I had a life" goes so much deeper thanks to this one deatil. Who was his partner? Did he have children?
It’s an allegory for queer people. They’re two queer men.
I'd SERIOUSLY watch a feature film based on this premise!
District 9
I've actually watched District 9 the plots could be seen as SIMILAR but the reporters have different stances on their respective topics. The reporter from District 9 if i remember correctly was more curious than concerned.
Also I'm more talking, "cured" zombies, and societies stance on them. Like that movie Fido had an interesting look at it. and I find alien, and zombie themes tend to have different atmospheres.
In The Flesh is about reintegrating cured zombies back into society and it's really well done. It only got 2 short seasons but it's worth checking out. Some great characterisation.
Thanks! I'm gonna check that shit out!

Lover?
They have great chemistry with each other
no hate against gay couples but the website says that don is a father figure to andy
@@minkminkd i’m sorry that’s just a really weird father-in-cent relationship then because I got lovers vibes Like a married couple

I saw this video along time ago and have probably watched this more than once, but I still enjoy it each time. I really like the way the cameraman decides to stay, because our(the viewers’ of this UA-cam video and even the ‘viewers’ of the video of the story) understandings’ of what’s going on really relies on what the camera & camera man are showing us.
What I got out of this video are 2 things:
1) that it’s media’s responsibility to show an honest image (because what they show is what many believe)
2) & that overall, people should hear things out and be open minded rather than running away when it gets difficult or scary.
