- We now come to our concluding episode concerning the Proto-Qur'an, where Jay tries to make sense of where the Qur'an came from, and how it became the Qur'an we have today. Normally this would take hours to do, but all he has is about 20 minutes...so here goes...
We are told by Muslims that according to their 'Standard Islamic Narrative' (SIN) the Qur'an was first compiled right after Muhammad's death by the caliph Abu Bakr, sometime between 632 - 634 AD (see Sahih al Bukhari, volume 6, Hadith 509-510).
According to Al Bukhari, in 652, after the battle of Azerbaijan, there were a number of different Qur'ans floating around in the north, so the Caliph Uthman had Zaid ibn Thabit (the secretary of Muhammad) rewrite the Qur'an in the Quraishi dialect, so that it would be pure and in only one language.
Obviously, in the 7th century, there could be no dialectical differences in a written Arabic consonantal text, because in order to read those differences, one would require dots and vowels above and below the letters, and these were not invented until the next century, around 100 years later.
Remember, however, that the story about the Qur'an's creation is first compiled by Al Bukhari in the 9th century, when dialectical differences would have been well known, as they would have been using dots and vowels for over a century by then; thus, the reason he gives for Uthman burning all the other manuscripts which disagreed, thinking this was merely for dialectical purposes, when in reality, in the 7th century, they only reason someone would destroy variant manuscripts was because the consonantal words were different, which suggests that they said entirely different things.
Jay referred to the fact that we have no original or extant 7th century manuscripts at all, which has forced Muslims to try to find at least 96% of the Qur'an in fragmentary form (using 63 different Qur'anic fragments) which they claim existed from before 719 AD, or within the first Islamic century AH.
Yet 20 of those 63 fragments have been investigated by scholars with no conclusions as yet, while another 9 have been dated after 719 AD, and the remaining 34 fragments no one has done any research on as yet.
Consequently, almost all of the 63 fragments are inconclusive, or too late or have yet to be investigated, suggesting that the Muslims have merely grabbed whatever fragments they could find to make up the 96% of the Qur'an they needed, and then simply stated they were all written before 719 AD, hoping that no one would investigate their claims. Unfortunately, for the, our team in London has, proving, that even as late as 719 AD there is no complete manuscript of the Qur'an which agrees with our current Qur'an.
We are told that a Jewish king from Kufa (in Iraq), named 'Umar' (not the Muslim caliph Umar), came West and conquered Jerusalem in 638 AD. He was befriended by a Christian monk named Gabriel, and soon after converted to Christianity.
In 647 AD he minted a coin with his image on it, holding a cross, and with the letters MHMD, which are the consonantal letters for 'Muhammad', meaning 'the praised one'. Numismatists thus assume this referred to Jesus, the 'Praised One'.
At about the same he was given the Syriac Diatesseron which was in popular use in Syria and Iraq, referred to as the 'recitation' which in Arabic is "Qura'a", the same word from which Qur'an came from.
In the late 7th century the caliph Abd al Malik, an 'anti-Trinitarian' Christian, introduced Arabic as the language of the empire, as well as his anti-trinitarian beliefs, into his Umayyad empire, which became the pre-cursor for what later became Islam.
His son al Walid began the task of creating the Qur'an, primarily by borrowing the Aramaic texts available to them; but the Arab scribes, not knowing Aramaic, imposed their own Arabic dots and vowels onto the text, and adulterated much of those texts, replacing the name of Jesus with hundreds of references to the 'rasul' or 'nabi' (the prophet of God).
It was the German scholars like Gunter Luling and Christoph Luxenberg who in the last 50 years, by removing the Arabic dots and vowels, and replacing them with Aramaic dots and vowels, were able to reverse the Qur'anic texts back to their earlier Arabic and Aramaic originals.
What they found were 4th - 7th century Christian Lectionaries, Homilies, and Hymns, all dedicated to Jesus Christ, something the Christian Syrian scholars like Gabriel Sawma have known for years, and have been trying to tell the rest of us for decades. But no one paid them much attention; that is, until the Germans came to the rescue.
Consequently, from here on out, in order to know what the Qur'an originally said, we will all need to learn Aramaic in order to know what the Qur'an was all about...or rather, in order to know WHO it was all about...Jesus Christ.

Did it not occur to your mind that what Al Fadi and Jay Smith is presenting is already the real gospel that was sent by God to Prophet jESUs (pbuh) to be preached to the children of Israel (Jews)? Your criteria is Eusebius from the fourth century.
Your ‘orthodox’ Christianity is decided in the fourth century.
Your four gospels were not the only writings in the first century.
They were many written works that didn’t make it in the fourth century filter.
They used the passion as a criteria for ‘authenticity’.
Your church didn’t use manuscripts, palaeography to get to know what is authentic.
They simply had a theology. They picked and choose books based on that fourth century theology.
Every book that denies a passion was rejected.

In order to properly be able to contrast the various strata in the Koranic text, one needs the added perspective that comes with studies in the history of theology (Jewish and Christian) (which Lüling did and Fisher did not).

What about Jesus transfiguration on Mt. Tabor? And God the Father being heard.
The same with the baptism of Jesus where the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus and God the Fathers voice is heard saying this is my Son obey Him?

After I read the Holy Qur'an for the third time, I thought it would have been better that I could have also the knowledge about the book of the christians. So, instead of consuming my time in other books like novels and other reading materials, I shifted my interest in knowing other faith. I told myself that who knows this might be carrying the truth. So, I set up some criteria in approaching it. My criteria were:
1). Is it God speaking?
2). Is it the writer speaking, or the third person?
Since I don't have a copy of the Bible, I look for it at UA-cam. And I happened to the official King James Bible. So I downloaded it to my computer. I made the font size a little bit bigger so that I will be able to read it clearly. I started my reading at the gospels of the New Testament because I'm curious to know why a Jew is being looked up to as the lord of the christians when in fact even the Jews don't recognized him to be so, otherwise, Judaism would never have been their religion. After I was done with the New Testament which ended at the book of Revelations, I went back to the Old Testament. I started reading it Genesis until I reached Malachi. It took me several weeks to finish the whole Bible from cover to cover. In reading it, or any book for that matter, you have to take things in stride. You don't have to crumb your brain into finishing it in just sitting. That's impossible. I saw to it that I could finish 10 chapters every night. I didn't read it during daytime. I quite busy during daytime. So, 10 chapters a night. Only in Psalms where its chapters are quite shorter than the other books, I made it 20 to 25 chapters. I did not rush in my reading. I had to read it slowly so that I can understand every I'm reading. As a matter of fact, I didn't skip a comma or a period.
Do you know why I started at the gospels? Because I want to know what was or what were the revelations sent down by God to Prophet jESUs (pbuh) to be preached to the children of Israel (Jews). But, I was not able to find one. So, once I finished the whole Bible, I read again and again the 4 gospels thinking I might missed some verses. But in my re-reading of the 4 gospels, still I was not able to find a single gospel in them. So, it means, the 4 gospels were deceptively labeled as gospels when, in reality, the are but biographies of Prophet jESUs (pbuh) in 4 accounts. What is lamentable is the fact that inspite of the 4 accounts, his biography is greatly lacking. The story started in year 1 about his conception and his birth. Then it jumped immediately to year 30 about his preaching and healing activities, his baptism at Jordan river for the atonement of his sins, up to his alleged crucifixion and ascension to heaven. Year 2 to year 29 is lacking. This is a huge vacuum. This period constitutes the primetime of the life of Prophet jESUs (pbuh). Such a man like him who is revered and venerated by the people should not have a missing account of the primetime of his life. It will raise doubts that there is something fishy and undesirable deeds that he committed during his prime age.
Since there is not a single gospel in the 4 gospels, where is the real gospel that Prophet jESUs (pbuh) received from God? What is that gospel? Had it got lost totally? I hope it did not. You and I should strive to look for it, so that we could only have one gospel in our hands. Let's find that book in Aramaic. Let's accept whatever is in it as long as it is the true gospel. After all, all the prophets have the same message because it came from the same source.

How I earnestly wish that there is now an original ARAMAIC GOSPEL because I am dying inside to read it. I hope there is a translation in English. It's hard to read it in its original form in Aramaic. Would it be possible to arrange a reprint of Gabriel Sawma's book, or some ebook version ? Like it is hard to get hold of in the UK, unless you want to pay a hefty price. Sometimes authors use small publishing houses, and they only do limited print runs, and are risk averse so reluctant to do reprints and revised editions. But Jay could perhaps make the case with a big christian publisher, and the existing publisher would get a nice fee, an ebook version might be even cheaper, as far as the original publishers and author were happy and given appropriate fees.

Please let's apply an equally generous standard regardless of our conclusions about the history of the Quran.

There are parts of what the prophet of the Quran that ties to what was said in the NT.

If you say Injeel did not exist, it's like saying Prophet jESUs (pbuh) did not also exist. Injeel is inseparable to him. So is he is also inseparable to Injeel. Without the Injeel/gospel, you have no religion today. But your religion does not conform to what the Injeel/gospel was supposed to preach. Is there somewhere a list/ overview that shows what parts of the Quran is from other known sources? Is there some evidence list? Right now, it seems like I have to spend a lot of money and reading multiple books, and I don't even know if it would be conclusive. Show what verses that is from where. Show the evidence. Is thre known sources that shows that the verses is copied from a non islamic source? To turn it around, if I'm to prove anything historical event from the Bible, I have to show archeological reports and evidence to back up my claims. There is a lot of talk in this discussions, but very little actual evidence, it is great for a starter and introductions into the subject, but I feel it lacks hard evidence other than trust me.

Where is Alif Lam Mim prayer book?
It looks like Jay Smith and Abdul Fadi become irritatingly jealous when they could read something beautiful are written about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). What they want is that all writers would always go by their line of thinking of always finding faults against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and that what they should write will always be about his bad sides.

The earliest Christians were Jews and this was not seen as antithetic, albeit forming a specific sect or Jews who saw Jesus as an appearance (though not the final appearance) of ‘the lesser YHVH’, Yeshua sar haPanim (יֵשׁוּעַ שַׂר הַפָּנִים; Prince of the Face), the Messianic Angel. This may be relevant as, if Umar had several wives, concubines, women ‘possessed by the right hand’ (I guess not running contrary to accepted practice of his day among this or that strand of Judaism (Joe might know?), and perhaps particularly for rulers), he might have authored the alterations in Surahs 23 and 70 to accommodate this situation (thus this ‘dispensation’ might have existed from the time of his proto-Quran). I realise that this cannot be determined.

According to Jay Smith is that he believed that there is really ONE ORIGINAL GOSPEL. Since he cannot find it, he assumed that the gospel of John is already that book. But his is only mere assumption. He failed to make any clear evidence to show that his assumption is correct. All I found is purely biography of Prophet jESUs (pbuh) written in 4 accounts by 4 Greek writers. What is lamentable is that inspite of the 4 accounts of his biography, it is greatly lacking.
The story started from his conception, his birth in the year 1 and it jumped immediately to year 30 where he conducted his preaching and healing activities, up until his crucifixion and ascencion to heaven. The year 2 to year 29 is a vacuum, a wide vacuum indeed. Those in-between years must have been the prime time of his age. And there must have been tremendous activities he had done during those years. But why the vacuum. This is something that you and I must have to give great concern to. This is a questionable episode of his life that has to be filled up with. Is this intentionally done? Is there something fishy in this wide vacuum? That is what we should look up into.
When we say gospel, it means Injeel/good news/revelation/s from God sent down to Prophet jESUs (pbuh) to be preached to the children of Israel (Jews). But what is that gospel? Had you seen the book he is waving on the video? That video is all about that Aramaic book. He is claiming that it is a copy of the Holy Qur'an in Aramaic. Definitely, it's very impossible because when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) came, the Aramaic language was already a dead language. It was already superseded and replaced by the Hebrew language. What is possible is that it could be the lost copy of Aramaic Gospel that was sent by God to Prophet jESUs (pbuh), because we have no gospel in our hands today. @mysotiras 018 before you even study Islam, why can't you first study the origin of yours first and explain to us where it originate from, because I think you've been studying the wrong thing all along age doesn't matter. So you mean when you kiss your wife or your child you're worshipping them? When Jesus was tempted by Satan in Mathew... How did he describe God? Abraham's father was older than him and yet he's the one who was trying to make sense to him about worshipping idols didn't make sense at all and yet he was of course older than him. The west wrote history to lead people astray by claiming the bible is the word of God. Nowadays people are not fools, they ask questions and interrogate the answers. That's the reality. You should first research on your religion first and it's original and connection it has with Buddha, Horus, Mithra, Krishna and Christian Jesus. It could not be that out of his 33 years on earth, only 5 years were accounted for and having narrative. Those 28 years must have been replete with tremendous meaningful and wonderful activities. It could not be that after he ascended to heaven, people of his time blew all the memories about him into oblivion.
The story of such a man like him who is revered and venerated by the people cannot easily be forgotten. But why did the 4 Greek writers skip the account of the primetime of his life? Is there something fishy that needs to be hidden? One cannot help to cast doubt that there is really something fishy in the narratives of the biography of Prophet jESUs (pbuh). According to Jay Smith is that he believed that there is really ONE ORIGINAL GOSPEL. Since he cannot find it, he assumed that the gospel of John is already that book. But his is only mere assumption. He failed to make any clear evidence to show that his assumption is correct. Hence, he has to show manuscripts in Aramaic as evidence for his assumption that the gospel of John is the already real Gospel of Pophet jESUs (pbuh).
By his hasty assumption, he undoubtedly discarded the gospels of Mark, Matthew and Luke into useless books which have no more meaning to the whole Christendom, and hence not fit to be used as the basis of the religiosity of the Christians.
According to Jay Smith the LETTERS OF PAUL are just MERE TAFSEER of the Old Testament and “other scriptures” (?). Tafseer means interpretation. If the letters of Paul are just mere tafseer, why is it they become the main core of the New Testament which comprised 90 percent of it. These should be written in a separate book. Why no single Muslim hates Prophet jESUs (pbuh)? Why all Christians hate Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)? For all they know, the one whom they hated most is the one who can bring them to Paradise. There was no Official Completed Quran used by the Muslim community yet at that time- people had had bits and pieces, written down verses with mistakes and verses that were abrogated as well in their possession. People would simply copy with their own hands any copy that they had and obviously human errors occurred and THAT had to be burned.
An Official Qur'an was made for the entire Caliphate, upon the entire Islamic nation.
