SLFs were live nerfed today from 72 to 14 merits each, for temporary powerplay rebalancing. Stay tuned for more updates from fdev. EDIT: They've settled at 56 merits per SLF, and buffed other ships.
So now that Im back to elite and Im gonna have fun farming a power, all the farms are halted and this one is also nerfed to the ground? What about the hundreds that already got max rank already? Man now I know why I left this game, time to uninstall again. Fk Frontier!
I came here to see if anyone else was having issues with this. I was doing it earlier and getting 70 per kill but now I’m only getting 14. The balancing team clearly don’t want anyone to have fun playing pp2.0.
I had just purchased a new Python 2 and engineered half the modules (since I didn't want to refit my Titan bomber) when I heard this news. Stripping it down and selling it back now...
Some people seem to forget your rank already makes you get more merits per kill, without any rank this would net less then 50 per kill if memory serves. truely immersive gameplay.
I don't have Pack Hounds, can they be engineered? If so, what have you put on them? I have done similar with some High Capacity - Oversized/Overload seekers, but I'm hoping to fine-tune the loadout.
It's kind of a chicken-n-egg problem now because Pack Hounds are locked behind the merit grind. Folks who had stocked some prior to PP 2.0 dropping are better suited to take advantage of this farming method. Your best bet is to do hi-cap overload seekers, as the measly 3% increase in attack power from oversized only makes a difference in extended engagements vs a bigger target.
2 oversize seekers will pop a gu-97 fighter so if you disable 1 missile rack in each fire group and reactivate them when you’re dry you could stretch your kills to 108 before rearming the python. Packs can potentially get 120 kills before you gotta bail
Ya did a video on this last week. But packhounds are actually not as good as good old seekers seekers can kill at 5km unlike packhounds. Just put up a video today showing that. Also you don’t need any pips in weapons so spread to shields.
Theres so many builds like this one that use Prismatics and Pack hounds. What is an easy entry level ship build for someone whos never climbed powerplay before? Money isnt a problem for me and neither is engineering, It just seems everytime I see these videos people have a way easier go of it than me lmao

They nerfed the merits from this. I don't believe Frontier could get more annoying with the balancing, but here we are.

@@sharpknees i was in the same boat spent a good chunk of my day engineering and only got to do one run.
@@rawtoast6716 The balancing team don't know their own game mechanics, and supposed we would chase one fighter for 10 minutes with pulses.
your brain must feel like actual noodles after earning 160k merits this way.
This is a way more fun method than collecting rare goods. And I did over 900,000 merits with tare good in a week and I only do this now
@@AtlasRandGaming ur lucky by the looks of it, us starting now are gonna take years to make 900k with frontier nerfs.
I don't seem to get merits at these?

Oh good to know ... is there a list somewhere how merit rewards rise through the ranks?
Ya I don’t think that’s true. I got level 119 and earnings didn’t change.
Do all these "elite" fighters count as normal xp for combat ranking?

Yes Packs can be engineered, same as seekers. They have ammo economy issues so High-Cap is recommend.

Can we simply run a large number of turreted weapon to catch the little shits or is it really hot worthwhile?
Also a user without packhounds
@@Slartibartfast82yes but shooting taipans it’s actually better with seekers. Takes 9 volleys of packhounds but just 4 of seekers both engineered.

That looks like an interesting build...and been wondering what to do with the Python Mk2
same. It kind of feels useless for me like the mamba and fdl.
This is why open only is a must
Oh really? 😂😂grievers really are something else…
in solo mode always.
Open only. Not my fault imps hide in solo.
Rude coward. Go play NMS.
