    In this Episode we welcome Jason. A Hard working father who has had his thinning hair play on his mind for many, many years. He felt like the right time to shave off his balding hair and move on was around 5 years ago but having the courage to go through with the head shave took time. After some bad experiences with hair fibres and even using makeup to disguise his balding, he was ready to part ways with the fading hair and get back to focusing on himself and his family.
    Thank you so much Jason for sharing your experience here at baldcafe.

    Greetings from Japan. Here being bald is quiet rare yet, especially at my age (30 yo), since most people have completely full (grayish) hair until over their 90s, but your videos helped me a lot to embrace my baldness and just fully shave it.
    Sadly many people look bad at me because of that in my daily life (train commutes, grocery shopping, etc.), but I'm still quiet happy with my current looks!

      I lived in Japan for ten years. There’s quite a stigma to being bald, and shaving the head isn’t as accepted as it is here… there used to be Yakuza connotations attached to it. I’m glad you went for it!

      If you start early to fight hairloss it’s totally worth it in my opinion. I saved my hair with finasteride and oral minoxidil and went from losing a lot of hair to literally non (at least i dont notice the one who fall out naturally) after a shower i have 0-2 hair in my hand or towel. Before i had like 20-100. I really dont have a good face for being bald and have no beard growth thats why i decided to treat myself.
      I have 0 noticeable side effects and im monitored by my doctor for potential side effects but 2 years passed and im completely fine and really grateful. I have good hair but i lost definitely like 40% plus since my 20s and finasteride took like 1 year to really work but minoxidil was the game changer for me, since i use it my hair got thicker and healthier. I can only encourage people to try it out if they like their hair it’s worth the hustle of taking 1 or 2 pills before going to bed

    I appreciate the story shared here and all stories on this channel.
    I just want to say thank you. Today, I made the decision to go bald. Though not quite. I went with a very low buzz cut at a 1.
    After the cut, I felt I could definitely go 0 no guard. For now, I like the way I look with a 1 and how my beard looks together with my cut.
    I feel this was a really good step for me. It feels really good to just let go after so many years struggling. No more Finesteride, Minoxidil, or Micro Needling.

    The best thing about shaving or buzzing the hair is you leave all the vanity behind. I was so worried about styling my hair, how I looked to others, do I look attractive, all those things are gone now. I buzz my down with a 1 guard, I actually have mostly all my hair, with just a small thin spot in the back, but I buzz it anyway because it feels so good to just not have to worry about perception, this is me and I don't care

    Fantastic you look so much better shaved bald. I remember when I was in my twenties the hairdresser telling me that my hair was thinning. I managed to ignore it for the next 40 years. But my hair got thinner and I looked a mess. My hair was long thinning and when I saw a photograph of myself I looked awful. I just shaved my head fully bald with a razor 4 years ago. Don’t regret it and wish I had done it years before. There is nothing wrong with being bald and I think and other people have thought I look much better. It’s also great when I go swimming 👍🏼😃😎

    Hey mate I bought the walls balding clippers after watching one of your videos a few years back. They have been pretty good to me. I try to shave about every 3 or 4 days. I’m looking to see if I can find an electric shaver, foil or anything that can cut closer than the wahl baling clippers. Is there something you would reccomend? I thought about a foil but recently watched your video on one and you had about 4 days growth and didn’t seem to like using it… I believe it was the andis

    • @Baldcafe
      @Baldcafe  2 місяці тому

      The best electric I’ve ever used is the Braun series 9 but it is quite expensive. Next to that that personal favorite have been the Remington shavers Rx5 and Rx7. They will all cut closer than a pair of hair clippers. I often suggest using a cheap Amazon head shaver £20-30 to see how you get on with electric shavers first and then upgrading to a more longer lasting model. The Amazon ones do a decent job for 3 months or so to know if you enjoy shaving that way.

    Buy a three point mirror and and giant mirror that can face the back of your head so when you look in the mirror in the front your can see the back of your head it makes shaving your head wayyy easier, at first it will be hard trying to navigate left and right, up and down because everything in the mirror get reversed so just take it slow. Try just testing it out with out putting a razor to your scalp and see how it goes.

    I lost a LOT of hair in the crown over the past 3-4 years. Really since the start of the pandemic. I’m 42, and I look at my wedding photos from 2018…I had a full head of hair with very little thinning! So my thinning is recent. But the thinning got so bad that I went the buzz cut route. I put a 1/2 guard on there and went to town. Now when I look at the back of my head, the thinning is WAY less noticeable. But overall, I still feel like I have hair. It’s just extremely short; for me there’s almost a huge difference between a buzz cut and shaving your head. I do think guys with thinning on the crown can kind of get away with a buzz; I do think it is a lot harder if you’re losing a lot of hair up front. So I guess I feel lucky in that way.
