This was one of those get it done by tomorrow jobs so I really was not looking to upsell much more work! The owner of the truck was really just concerned about the timing belt going on him. It would have been a good time to do cam seals too you are right!
@@dirtykurty92 Have you every seen any of these engines bend valves up when the belt let's go I was under the impression these were non interference engines, mine has 293k on the original and it looks pretty rough I don't go far with it so figured just do it when I have too..
@@babylonfallssoon I have. If the timing belt breaks and you attempt to start it, you are screwed. You may never hear the belt break and may think it just died for other reasons. Your natural instinct is to try to start it.
Would have made sense! This truck has like 250k miles on it, it would make sense to change all the oil seals! Lol but it’s not my truck and I did the work that was asked for
Digging the progressive trance music while working on your taco lol
😂😂 thank you @badazzmuffin5781
THANKS FOR SHARING . NICE JOB !!
No problem! Hope it helps!
Wobble socket and extension gets the second tensioner bolt off without removing ac
I tried but didn’t have a good angle at it but maybe I missed the one! Lol if you can do it without that it would save ALOT of hassle
@@dirtykurty92 I remove the skid plate and come at it from below with a bit of tape on the socket. Works every time
How did you retighten the crank bolt?
Used a Impact, then used a beaker bar well holding the crank in place to make sure it was tight
@@dirtykurty92 cool, thanks for sharing this
Thanks for sharing, did you change the cam seals? The engine was covered in oil, or at least
at times. Good job regardless.

The 2 cam seals and crank would have cost $25 tops!!
Makes no sense...to change them now !!
Waste of time..just saying.
