Don’t know man, how much is that expansion hose? $30?! Why risk it?
Hmm I guess I didn’t think about that! I haven’t had a issue with it yet, knock on wood but wouldn’t hurt to change it your right
Why ?
I’m unsure exactly why it burnt the valve, it had a misfire in cylinder 3. The coils and plug were replaced, then just drove again until this happened 😅 I replaced the valve and seals and gaskets required to do the job and it ran fine afterwards
@dirtykurty92 Bad driver 🙂
Possibly but it ran well after the repair
How the hell did you get that one side attached to plastic off so easy? Mines a pain in the ass it’s like it’s glued on.
@@ToasterYoaster I got it loose off camera 🤣 I’ve definitely seen them glued to the radiator before I had to cut one off one time
@@dirtykurty92 I was thinking about that but I don’t wanna break the plastic attached to the radiator.
@ToasterYoaster yea I had no choice but to cut it before, just slowly cut down till I thought I was deep enough then used a screw driver to crack the plastic hose to get it to release. They definitely don’t just fall off sometimes 😂
Aint nothin wrong with that lol. Lookn like a healthy build. What's it goin in? Looks like u had it cleaned up with new pistons and freeze plugs.
@@515FLTRXS correct! I did almost all the work myself! New rods too! Only thing I didn’t do was polish the crank, and I got the heads cut and a fresh cut on the valve seats. It’s been in my dads 81 corvette for the last 4 years now still running strong
@dirtykurty92 Nice man! Glad to hear it, we work with what we got... Dining rooms included sometimes!
@515FLTRXS got to love it! I appreciate your comments!

On my passenger side mirror the issue is not that the mirror does not hit the pin, but the placing of the pin is such that the mirror position is too close to the door and it cannot function properly as a side mirror or I can't view the traffic next to my car.
@@JimmyManan so is it the mirror itself is pointing in the wrong position? Like the function when you put the car in reverse the mirror points down?
@@dirtykurty92 First, thanks so much for responding to my question. The mirror clicks into place, or the pin is functioning, but the placement of the whole mirror housing is askew or incorrect. The position of the mirror housing is too near to the door, and as a result, the mirror can't be directed toward the rear-side traffic, what I see is only the panel of the door.
@Jimmymanan hmm so the housing is stopping but in the wrong spot from the sounds of it? It does move correct? If it moves maybe it lost it home position, I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then try to manually place the mirror where it should be, and then reconnect the battery and then try to press the button to get it to move on its own, see if that helps
Be gentle well trying to manually move it as to not break anything hahah
@@dirtykurty92 I purposely not touch the folding mirror button, but last week I accidentally did, and the both driver and passenger side mirror became out of whack, folding out to the extreme position. But I manually placed the driver mirror in a "pinned" position which is correct, but unfortunately on the passenger side it is "askew" or "incorrect." I probably will open the cover, clean it and spray some W40 into those crevices like you did. Hope it works.
You didn't deck it
@@michaelwindle6894 your correct, I never had any issues with blowing head gaskets or over heating, and the deck was straight with a straight edge so why spend the extra money for this power level

DirtyKurty. Thank you so much for posting this video. I am having the same issue with my 2009 BMW 335i. Did you need to disconnect the battery or did you do the ground cable replacement without?
@finkjm I did not disconnect the battery to do this repair! Good luck!

@@hkvp9tactical418 awesome you got yours working and this comment might help others if they do the same! I appreciate the knowledge!
At that point replace. It’s a matter of time.
@ I agree, maybe worth a shot if your waiting for new parts but that thing was cooked
Did you drain all the coolant before ? Or you just sent it? I’m confused
@vincentenciso536 I just sent it. Haha you can drain the coolant if you want to be alittle more proper. I’d suggest doing an oil change after the repair too.
hey bro i saw on the video it says put carb cleaner in there and drill how do you get the cleaner out and debris after?
You don’t need to get it out, it will just dry up or burn off and go out the exhaust
How long did it take total
It took me maybe 2 weekend days and 2 days after work, but I was filming all the video so it definitely took a bit longer then it could have. I think if you had all the tools in front of you, you can do it in one weekend. @Oscar-is-thankful

Hello DirtyKurty, Thank you for the video; it was really helpful, and I appreciate how clearly you showed the entire process! I have a 2014 BMW 320d, the same model, and encountered an issue during my coolant flange service. While working on it, I temporarily removed the bonnet locks and reinstalled one side to keep it secured. Now the bonnet is stuck and won’t open. I’ve tried both pulling the bonnet up and pushing the pin in the lock mechanism, but nothing seems to work-it’s still jammed. Do you have any advice or tips on how I can get it open without damaging the locks or the bonnet? Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
@MohammedEmranM hey! Sorry to hear your experiencing troubles getting your hood to open! So I’m trying to understand the situation you’re in, are your cables hooked up or no? If the cables are not hooked up the only way I know would be to strike the lock mechanism arm, it is definitely not easy and a bit of force is required to don’t be afraid to hit it with some force once you know your on the arm. If the cable is hooked up still, you can remove the lever from inside the car and put some vise grips on them and pull the cable manually that way, you can get alittle more movement in the cable and some times that little extra is all you need
Good job❤❤
@danyxxl8634 thank you ❤️❤️
anyone know where i can get the same tool
Which one are you looking for the spring compressor or the leak down tester that’s used to pressurize the cylinder? @wette92
@@dirtykurty92got some supertech springs i gotta put on but dont like the ones on the market

A little tip for installing the keepers is to use a small flat screw driver and a dab of sticky grease. Take the screw driver tip and put just a dab of grease on the end and put the keeper in the grease. It will hold the keeper to the end and allow you to position it in the tight confined area enough to set it and then slide off. I know this video is a few years old, but hopefully this helps someone.
@fivestardsm good tip! Im sure someone will read this and it will help! This video still gets views every day! I appreciate the tips!

I love it! Thank you man! I don’t have any plans on selling mine either!
How much did all the parts cost? I have an 81 I want to spice up and yours sounds great!
@emmycurtis778 I haven’t added up all the parts, I do have all the receipts for everything and can get you an exact number for everything if you want, but I’d say around 3000$ for the engine build, I’m sure you could do it cheaper if you wanted to but I replaced basically everything. But I did almost all the work myself so only labor in that is planing the heads and cutting the valve seats/ polishing crank
I did buy everything new too, if you looked around you could definitely find deals. Like this the intake and exhaust manifolds, carburetor, cam, and you definitely could get away with not replacing pistons and rods if your just going for alittle more spice
I need to see a video on this!!!
