My biggest guilt is knowing I might have damaged my son's sense of self or self esteem by getting angry at him or projecting at him. I hate the idea of any angry words I said forming his identity. Even if I apologize I can't stop feeling guilty and worried about the permanent damage.

Thank you Dr Jazmine for another great and needed video in this parenting journey! You said something towards the end (8:42) about not feeling guilty for our parenting mistakes and having self compassion because guilt doesn't make us change, compassion does. I think it's important to recognize the difference between guilt and shame. When we have negative self talk that sounds like "I'm such a bad mom my kid is going to hate me" I think that comes from a place of shame. Whereas guilt is more along the lines of I made a bad decision in that moment and I feel guilty for yelling at my child so I need to do x, y, z, in the future to prevent this from happening. I know that is essentially what you were trying to convey but I feel that word choice is important. That's what I appreciate so much about your work is you giving me the vocabulary to be able to give my child instructions instead of saying "no" or "stop that."

Just discovered your channel and loving it! I'd love to see a video on how to transition your child to no dummy (pacifier) in a way that doesn't traumatise them (our current challenge with our 20-month old)

Hi, I am new to your channel. Your videos are so well explained and structured, I love it. I felt really lost on how to get my anger under control but now I could finally pinpoint what exactly was preventing me from changing and I am very grateful. Can't wait to check out your other videos. Also, you look like such a lovely person, you have a very positive aura that speaks to me. Many gretings from Germany!
