From my personal experience I find cat lovers to be more empathetic than cat haters. Especially cat loving men. Every single feline loving man I encountered was extremely empathetic and emotionally intelligent. Not hating on dogs, I have both, I just don't understand how can someone hate cats. In my opinion if you call yourself an animal lover you love them all, not just the ones who will bend over backwards on your whim.
I hope what you say is true. I have 2 dogs 🐕 and 2 cats 🐈 who love inside with me and several feral cats 🐈 who live under the house that I feed and water. MowMow likes to sleep on the bed with the dogs and I. It does feel really good that they like me and it does seem like the softer I speak and the more gentle I am the more everyone likes it. Animals are the best.
I have had cats around me all my life. I have always loved them and they seem to have loved me too. Following an assault, i was diagnosed with PTSD, so for the last few years i have been everything but calm. My cats have comforted me a lot and i love them even more for that.
My story about winning over a cat....I was asked to foster a cat who was at a cat shelter and bit everyone. She had been a stray and needed a quiet place to live temporarily. I had a Golden Retriever at the time and she absolutely adored my Golden Retriever. Me, no so much. She scowled at me, but never once tried to bite me. I simply gave her space. After several months, I had to take her back to the shelter, and a miracle happened! She was adopted! This was a cat the shelter said was not adoptable and wanted to give to me because of that. I never held that cat. She never sat on my lap, and it took a very long time for her to get comfortable enough with me to come anywhere near me. I was so thrilled to see how she came around and actually tolerated being held by her adoptive humans!

I used to sell frozen food to established customers at their homes. One evening I showed up at a new customers house and began taking their order. As I stood in their kitchen with mom, dad, and both kids, a cat came running down the hallway. She jumped op on the counter and then into my arms. I started petting the cat and resumed taking their order. The whole family stood there, mouths agape. I asked if I had done something wrong. They all excitedly proclaimed that their cat never comes out for anyone, not even them. I have had cats since I was a wee lad. Great companions for an old grandpa who's alone now. 😸😹😻😼😽😺💯❤❤
My sweet girl was feral before being picked up by the cat shelter when she and her siblings were 6 months old. She was the last to be adopted out but I took one look at her and said ‘she’s coming home with me right now’. I wasn’t ready, had no cat toys (my dog had not long passed away) but I got everything she needed for those first few nights and gradually built up. The first two weeks she was terrified and just hid in the bathroom. I made sure she had access to her litter tray, food and water and I put the heating on all day and night in there so she was warm. Through those weeks, I just went into the room, kept my distance and gently talked to her or scrolled on my phone so she got used to my smell. One day she crept into my bedroom and never left. She’s my sweet little shadow, is incredibly brave, funny and cuddly. Still hates loud noises and loud talkers, but I’ve always had a gentle voice so when she hears me come home, she comes running with her tail held high. She makes me feel so loved every day, and I’m lucky to have her. Patience, kindness and gentleness, that’s all it took for her to come out of her shell.
My father was our cat's favourite when I was growing up. He didn't really want a cat, but once we got her he really loved her. She always went to him to sleep on. 15 years later she died and my dad was heart broken, it was one of only two times I saw him cry. The second time was when he was dying himself.

This video is spot on! When I held my cat he would usually let me hug and kiss him and then as soon as I felt his body squirm just a little I would set him down. He always knew he could trust me and that is definitely core to a cat loving a person. I also agree with the routine thing. Our cat used to head up to the stair landing every night at the same time and then meow at my husband and me telling us it was bedtime :) Miss him so much! Cats can really add so much joy to one's life if you know how to treat them right!
That's so true! Cats really appreciate when we respect their boundaries, and it builds such a strong bond. I love how you could sense when your cat was ready to be let down-that’s such a great example of mutual trust. And routines really do make them feel secure.

Two years ago, I was adopted by an American Bobtail Cat. He was at least 16; according to the neighbors. It took me less than a month to win his trust, and we had two great years together. He died about 7 weeks ago, and I still miss him every day! He was my little buddy. To be friends with a cat, it takes kindness, consistency and lots of patience. But once they trust you, it's forever.
The last time my mom and I lived together, we tried to gain the trust of our neighbor's cat. One of the first times she trusted us enough to spend the night was January 16th, 1994-the night before the Northridge earthquake. We didn't even know she was there until we heard her upset meowing after the earthquake had happened. She spent the entire day in either my lap or my mom's. The next day, I went to run a very small errand, just across the street, and the cat knew that no matter what, she was not to leave the yard. She didn't, but she spent the whole time I was gone sitting at the gate yowling for me. She was THAT UPSET about the whole thing.
I was in The San Fernando Valley during that Earthquake. What a wild ride! I didn’t have any pets during that period. It was very upsetting. I don’t blame that cat! I’d yowel all day, too!
A neighbor had a cat they kept letting out. We didn’t even want a pet. But - She kept returning to us and last time, she refused to leave! And that’s how you get a cat. 😹 Now, We love our little Hunny Bunn!
@okd521 My current cat taught me that, he sleeps in a little box with the flap over the door and on four occasions in the last 10 years when I have lifted the latch and stuck my face in there he has punched me in the nose, without claws of course, to let me know I interrupted his sleep. It wasn't a hard punch it was just a nice little slap to discipline me. Otherwise, he's the gentlest of the 17 cats I've ever had. What a gem, I shall miss him so if he goes before me, which I conflictedly hope he does ; because I know he would die of heartbreak if the only human he loves suddenly disappeared into the void.
Irresistible to cats 1 boundaries 2 calm and gentle person 3 patience 4 playfulness respecting stile - chase pounce 5 consistency, routine stability 6 love b via actions not forced 7 acceptance of their particular behavior
I was never particularly a cat lover until I visited a cat owner friend who was planning a lengthy overseas trip , I have always been an animal lover , so didn't dislike them , I just never really associated much with them until this one ... The owner commented on how the cat seemed to like me , which apparently she never did with people as a general rule , and she just sat on the floor beside me until I leaned back a little then she jumped up and made herself quite at home ... Needless to say , her purring and softness just grew on me and although she would wander off from time to time , she would always reclaim my lap when she was done doing whatever she was doing , Subsequent visits resulted in the same attention and when the time came , I was asked to look after her for the anticipated 12 month , and without hesitation , I agreed , and so fell completely in love ...
I got 13 cats and i am officially that kind of person, who cats love so much. Good video! Continuing, please, your good work about that magic creatures. And, of course, salute to author of these theme.
I'm a cat magnet. Its true about letting cats win the game a fair amount of time. If you always let them win they get bored and quit, if you never let them win they get frustrated and quit.
My philosophy with cats is “leave them wanting more”. When you’re having a petting session cut it shorter than maybe you’d like. My kitty always does well with that. He doesn’t have the chance to get overstimulated.
Cats hate commotion. Be still. Beyond your body, into your soul. Speak softly to kitty. They hear everything. Look while speaking, then avert your gaze to the side. Stay there until you speak again. Staring is a threat to cats. When kitty walks up, get low and extend your hand right at kitty’s nose height. Let kitty sniff you before you touch. Touch very gently and the top of their head is a good spot to start.
I never proactively engage with a cat when I encounter one, I wait for them to come to me. same with dogs, usually I'll offer a hand to sniff or get down on a knee to let them come nose to nose. Cats its more of just letting them first get comfortable with you being in their space, and then letting them do the engagement and just facilitating it.
@@jbr84txthere isn’t. The emerg dr’s advised me, the more you expose yourself to an allergen, the worse the allergy becomes. I can take 10 Benadryl now and nothing happens. Not a pill that works.
In July 2020, a handsome and adorable orange tabby carefully made its way across my street and across my front yard. The cat ran up to me and jumped onto my porch where I was seated. The cat immediately started to rub against me! He also "purred" loudly! The folks who own the cat stopped in the street, rolled down their car's window and called out the cat's name -- "Charlie!" Those folks laughed! The cat just sat next to me. I took the cat's front leg and paw, as to wave at its rightful owners. "Charlie" didn't mind that at all. That sweet and adorable orange tabby remained with me for about me for almost an hour! Before that time (4 years ago) I hadn't been around cats since 2004! "Charlie Ginger Tigger" (as I call him) stops by to visit me whenever he can. I pray and hope "Charlie Ginger Tigger" remains safe and well for a long time to come! He's always welcome to my place, where love, attention, and food awaits him. "Charlie Ginger Tigger" is the mate! Cheers! Many thanks, caiamecat! 😸😻🐈
Rule number one: If there is a door, and it is closed, the Cat will be on the wrong side of it. Doors MUST BE LEFT OPEN AT ALL TIMES. Rule number two: ANY time is FOOD time. Always remember: You are there to Serve !
Caring for cats can teach humans something important. As we need to observe cats to shape our interactions with them, all cats are different and respond differently to what makes them happy. We need to adapt that to how we interact with other humans, as everyone is different also. And we need to be attentive to what makes other people happy...don't take anyone for granted.
As the mommy to 5 furry ninjas one of which has horrible anxiety, all of this is true. I'm the favorite human, my husband is the spare human. My husband is hyper, unpredictable and can be too loud. I have anxiety with depression. I need calm, routine and my me time. Angus, aka anxiety kitty, took 18 months to be comfortable with me. After 4.5 years he's my little buddy. I try to respect his boundaries, but I do give in to the need to pick him up and hug him even though I know he's not a fan. Since I limit the amount of time I hug him, he's is willing to compromise and tolerate it. He's even started allowing a few more seconds. I like their quirks, I want them to be themselves. I work from hinge, so I'm with them ask the time and I honestly think we've become codependent, but we don't care. It's hard to be patient, but it's so worth it when you earn that trust. I also used some of these methods with the feral cats at my in-laws. I used wet food as well as a way to get them to like me. I can't really pet them, but they show affection in their own way. All 4 of our make cats came from my in-laws. They were sick and I was able to catch them. The youngest turned out to have Cerebellar Hypoplasia and doesn't walk, but he's a hair, healthy guy.
I've had cats, at a friend's house jump onto my lap. Then the owner will tell me that has never happened before and that their cat hides from strangers. It must be the cats instincts, because I could never harm a cat. Babies trust me too. Maybe I have a friendly aura ☺️
As a visiting nurse clients would start to say’ we have a cat but they… never … come … out…” as the cat apppears and either wraps around me or tries to climb into my nurses’ bag!
The emotional centers in a Cats Brain is the same as Humans. This may why display a wide range of emotions like wanting time out. Thank you for your incites on Cats it's very informative.
Laser pointers are an ok way to START play, but play should include grabbing a physical item. They need the feel of grabbing it with their paws. If they only have laser po8nters and video games, they start to feel extra stress and they can even start to act out inappropriately or aggressively at random times, biting your feet while you’re reading, etc
A twitching tail that runs the full length is indeed a sign of irritation but when only the tip of the tail twitches it means they're super content. I call is a compliment whenever I see this.
They love pleasing their human, same as dogs. But you have to develop trust with them. If you respect an animal properly, they will learn to trust you. Cats are also very loyal, especially if you rescue them from bad situations.
One of the ways my cat shows me love is through making me laugh. He enjoys my laughter very much. He is an amazing companion in many ways. He never wakes me up for example. But last night I must had fallen into a really deep sleep, because he probably was afraid "I have packed my backpack" - he woke me up by jumping on me like crazy 😂😂
Your cat sounds like such a delightful companion! It’s amazing how they can make us laugh and feel loved in their own unique ways. That sudden wake-up must’ve been quite the surprise, but it’s adorable that he’s so connected to you.
Lol I'm sitting here watching this my cat Gus came out of nowhere, ploped himself down in my lap and have me the ' pet me ' look. He loves his back scratches any place any time. It hilarious because he flops around like a fish out of water while I'm scratching him and his tail curls right up like an actual pretzel.
Let the cat be a cat. Let them know you're available and friendly, but don't force yourself on them. Get on their level and be open, but reserved. If they want to explore you, they will. If they don't, then don't push it. In time, they'll make their own decision.
I could have conversations with my cat. He'd hide in his favorite nap place hidden away. I would say.. "are you in there?" there'd be a long pause and he'd go........"Mmmyeahh"
What works with cats is what works with people: Respect their personal space, don't yell in their vicinity, but make an effort at verbal and gesture communication because they do want their existence to be acknowledged. People trying to treat any species of animal like they are puppies is the number 1 problem.
Laser pointers are not good. They are very frustrating because there is nothing to actually catch. Use them 3 minutes and then switch to a real toy the cat can catch and hold in their paws.
So, .. I was actually thinking of getting a dog. (Not a cat hater but more dog lover). Then along comes this 9 mo. orange stray boy. He wouldn't go away. I told him he had to go home. But, he had some minor medical issues and I decided if I spent vet money he's mine! 😅. 2 years later, another Christmas tree to climb.
Cats and dogs seem to like me. I have two dogs, but others come to me all the time. Every cat in my neighborhood seems to come to me also, and I always pet them.
That's so sweet! Animals must sense your kind and friendly nature. It’s amazing how pets and even neighborhood animals seem to connect with some people so naturally.
So I happen to have four cats. My second eldest cat happens to have a hell of a quirk. Her tail twitches like she is irritated at people and the world, but her demeanor is an absolute snuggle bug. She’ll come up and head butt you hard for pettings and for your lap if you have one available. But her tail twitches, causes for a pause due to the fact it’s giving mixed signals of her being completely irritated at you. She isn’t, promise she isn’t, just her tail works totally independently from her and does its own signals from the rest of her. Took me a long while to ignore her tail twitches. (I’ve been around cats for a long time. So I’m used to knowing that violent tail twitches means that the cat in question is irritated and ready to swat at you hard. My second eldest cat’s tail twitches about that hard.) So the way I know she is irritated is by listening to her. Which is tricky since she is a quiet cat. Once she actually makes a growl, I know she’s upset. I am never the subject of her growl. It’s one of the boys that have upset her. The rest of my cats are unique in their own ways.
Trying now to win over a frightened female cat who came to the shelter after being caught in a trap. Wary, staring, but seemed to relax a little after accepting having head and body scratched with a stiff wand. Finally could take eyes off me a bit. Also, I tried to not look into her eyes that often. Talked soothingly.
My brother's cat would abandon laps to come and see me. I was someone who'd walk into his teratory every time I visited my brother's family. I didn't feed this cat, or groom him, anything like that, but the cat would abandon laps to come and have a cuddle, and he'd just stay forever. quite unusual that, but I'd never say no. I got head bonked by the cat, the lazy lick, and even, a few weeks before the end of the cat's life, a nose boop. the cat's name was Nero, and I have no idea what he liked about me. yes I was calm around him, stroked him, even gave him a pad massage, and he'd keep coming back for more of this. I even felt the cat grin, i was stroking his whiskers and Nero was grinning massivly.
2:28 You contradicted yourself w/ your list of toys. So a Cat is a hunter that wants to win, catching the prey. As far as toys & play time go, laser pointers should defiantly not be used. You need to do some editing 'caiamecat'.
My cat loves her feather wand. Couldn’t care less about the feather attached to the ball. Loves her catnip ball! And she has a strange love for gift bag tissue paper. 🤷🏻♀️
My cats were once interested in a wand toy with a little worm attached to it. They were also once interested in a laser pointer, but only for a short while. Till now and sometimes run after small plastic balls but also here they easily get bored. I bought a wiggly fish. Interested only for a short while.
HELP! What can I use to calm my awful dry and brittle hair? I should let you know, this is not normally a problem, but over the last eight months I have been through a horrible cancer diagnosis! Radiation for seven months and seven treatments of chemotherapy with what the oncology community lovingly calls “Red Devil”! It was horrible! Now my hair is my biggest problem! It is grey, I let it go to grey after the chemo! Also, any suggestions on how to Styx it would be greatly appreciated! I can’t seem to get a handle on that either! I am wearing it short for now!

My current cat taught me that, he sleeps in a little box with the flap over the door and on four occasions in the last 10 years when I have lifted the latch and stuck my face in there he has punched me in the nose, without claws of course, to let me know I interrupted his sleep.
I love how my cat just walks off when he has had enough pets. Never looks back lol.
Irresistible to cats
1 boundaries
2 calm and gentle person
3 patience
4 playfulness respecting stile - chase pounce
5 consistency, routine stability
6 love b via actions not forced
7 acceptance of their particular behavior
I just give them food everyday, with gentle pats. They're happy to see me. 🐱
I care for many and enjoy being around them. I like them and they respond. I find they like you to talk to them. Great company.
I've adored cats and all animals really for my entire life! ❤
Cats seem to find me wherever I am and I'm grateful for their love and company! 🥰
Every one of these cats shown here are just BEAUTIFUL... thankyou
What makes cats tick is very simple. Treat them with kindness and love, and they will respond to you positively. Just like anything else in the world.
Yes, sounds like men and cats have a lot in common!😂
My philosophy with cats is “leave them wanting more”. When you’re having a petting session cut it shorter than maybe you’d like. My kitty always does well with that. He doesn’t have the chance to get overstimulated.
I think that holds true for most animals including children
À person who loves cats would never dress them up in bloody ridiculous clothes...
1:20 this oranget cat is such a beauty!
My husband is a cat magnet. He has even saved a few cats from death when they have been mauled by dogs!
Very good video, as an owner for many years I appreciate it…
And such beautiful cats!
Very gorgeous feline footage 😍🥰♥️
Although I love cats, I am allergic to them. So, I don't seek them out, but they always want to be with me. Wherever I go, I am a cat magnet!
There's always Benadryl.
@@jbr84txthere isn’t. The emerg dr’s advised me, the more you expose yourself to an allergen, the worse the allergy becomes. I can take 10 Benadryl now and nothing happens. Not a pill that works.
They know who’s allergic. We have homing beacons. The vet offices laugh watching the resident cats come after me. 🤦🏼♀️

I taught my son when he was little that it wasn't enough to love an animal. You Must respect the animals needs, feelings, quirks, etc.
Do they like it when we try a slow blink? Or are we likely to pronounce it wrong?
slow blink at them. it shows them you pay attention to them.
Yes it means peace and trust. They return the blink 🐈
😂
😌
Give them their space and don't smother them with affection. Let them seek you out.
I have always treated my cats with respect. I never picked them up by grabbing them from behind.
Cats have the best souls on earth and understand humans who have a good soul.
Centres (British spelling).
How to befriend cat:
Interact with cat - no
Ignore cat - yes
Ignore first, then when they come to you, interact with them.
Yes, life and death allergic, and I am a homing beacon. The vet offices laugh watching it.
You forgot the most important one: being their food source. If you are their food source, nothing else really matters.
😂
Right. You could probably even skip all that other stuff. Just open the can...
@@sinisterkitty8411Soon as I open a packet of treats my pair magically appear😊
That's more like a dog trait.
No it’s really a cat trait! 😅
A twitching tail that runs the full length is indeed a sign of irritation but when only the tip of the tail twitches it means they're super content. I call is a compliment whenever I see this.
I’m a cat magnet lol. Cats love me.
Me too.
I love my cat, and the woman that adopted our son at 2 months, She died from lung cancer 8 months later, I love my senior cat
Our cat is a total Daddy's boy, and follows my husband around like a dog😂
My male cat thinks he is a little human boy.He listens when I speak to him.
What works with cats is what works with people: Respect their personal space, don't yell in their vicinity, but make an effort at verbal and gesture communication because they do want their existence to be acknowledged. People trying to treat any species of animal like they are puppies is the number 1 problem.
It’s me. I’m the cat whisperer.
Cats HATE alarm clocks ! My cats threw up on my alarm ⏰ clock twice. I had to toss it in the trash and get another clock !
Please adopt a dog or cat today, or both ❤ You'll never be bored.
My cat wants his daddy all the time 😂
Laser pointers are not good. They are very frustrating because there is nothing to actually catch. Use them 3 minutes and then switch to a real toy the cat can catch and hold in their paws.
after a couple minutes throw a treat on the floor and put the laser pointer red dot on the treat, then the cat gets to pounce and eat the laser dot
I hide treats around the room, he chases the laser, when I get close to the treat I shut off the pointer and he catches the treat.
I love this video ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Decades ago, I was a guest at my new boss’s house. House cat launched herself into my lap. Boss and I had years of friendship until he died
I am a huge cat magnet. I've been so since I was a small child.
It's annoying to see someone handling and treating a cat like a dog. They are not the same.
Cats pick the person who is not a "cat person" and force attention onto them until they are a cat slave.
Great video !!
My cat loves all these things !!
Laser pointers are bad, because the cat can never catch the laser dot.
My Meower loves his green hoodie string. Also he's an inside/outside cat.
I love their sandpaper kisses.💗
I need to up my game with our cat Lucy
Gosh these cats are cute. Not as cute as my two being biased but these cats are still cute.
Adorable
Cats like people who feed them on the dot.
Cats are a lesson in respecting boundaries and that’s why people don’t like them. 🚩
I even felt the cat grin, i was stroking his whiskers and Nero was grinning massivly.
never meet a cat that didn't want a little time in my lap.
2:28 You contradicted yourself w/ your list of toys. So a Cat is a hunter that wants to win, catching the prey. As far as toys & play time go, laser pointers should defiantly not be used. You need to do some editing 'caiamecat'.
Sweet ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I serve 11 🙏🏽
My pet is my servant and have to live accordingly.
In short, it's not all about you.
😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Feather toys? My cats would not even look at them.
My cat loves her feather wand. Couldn’t care less about the feather attached to the ball. Loves her catnip ball! And she has a strange love for gift bag tissue paper. 🤷🏻♀️
Our cat Spots loves both the feather wand and laser pointer. His mother (Katrina) loves the wand but couldn't care less about the laser pointer.
Treat master.
One of the final scenes is a human spraying water up a cat’s nose. 😒
My highly allergic son is adored by our orange tabby cat. We just ended up buying Allegra D.
Not the kind of people who trim their nails and bathe them?
