I was never particularly a cat lover until I visited a cat owner friend who was planning a lengthy overseas trip , I have always been an animal lover , so didn't dislike them , I just never really associated much with them until this one ... The owner commented on how the cat seemed to like me , which apparently she never did with people as a general rule , and she just sat on the floor beside me until I leaned back a little then she jumped up and made herself quite at home ... Needless to say , her purring and softness just grew on me and although she would wander off from time to time , she would always reclaim my lap when she was done doing whatever she was doing , Subsequent visits resulted in the same attention and when the time came , I was asked to look after her for the anticipated 12 month , and without hesitation , I agreed , and so fell completely in love ...

Cats are attracted to me. I've been blessed with loving cats the last 30 years. I had to put down my pal this last June. I've got a huge hole in my heart. I'm almost ready to rescue a cat that will rescue me 😊

My sweet girl was feral before being picked up by the cat shelter when she and her siblings were 6 months old. She was the last to be adopted out but I took one look at her and said ‘she’s coming home with me right now’. I wasn’t ready, had no cat toys (my dog had not long passed away) but I got everything she needed for those first few nights and gradually built up. The first two weeks she was terrified and just hid in the bathroom. I made sure she had access to her litter tray, food and water and I put the heating on all day and night in there so she was warm. Through those weeks, I just went into the room, kept my distance and gently talked to her or scrolled on my phone so she got used to my smell. One day she crept into my bedroom and never left. She’s my sweet little shadow, is incredibly brave, funny and cuddly. Still hates loud noises and loud talkers, but I’ve always had a gentle voice so when she hears me come home, she comes running with her tail held high. She makes me feel so loved every day, and I’m lucky to have her. Patience, kindness and gentleness, that’s all it took for her to come out of her shell.

So ; you bond with a cat like you would with a human kind of makes you think. My first kitty girl Rayne was my 1st attempt at bonding; the Lil kitten stayed outside and seemed to be scared ,but curious of me. I saw her hide and run ; She never let me too close until a week or two later when Rayne Jest seemed to relax and come close. I watched as she walked up ,and jest seemed to wait for me to do something. I went to pick her up, and she let me,so I did and put her right down. This was the turning point, and after that, the trust was built ; Rayne came inside to live a few days later to stay. Me and her have been together for 6 years now and moved 3 times the final landing in West Virginia. I think if you just let things happen and respect your baby furs like you would another relationship, it will work out .

My cat literally chose me when she was just a tiny kitten. My friend took me to her attic and there were 3 tiny kittens. I did not immediately rush to interact with them, I just crouched down and observed. One of them, the grey one with orange spots, came to me. My friend told me that this kitty never did that before. I was the first one who that kitten approached. And I was very pleased, I let her sniff my finger and she came closer to me. Since then, I was her “mom” (I’m a guy but for her I can be a mommy 😅) and she’s been my best friend during Covid lockdowns. It’s been 5 years now and she sleeps on me or next to me, she jumps on my knees, starts purring, we eat together, poop together… I truly love her. I gave her name Zoe and I put her on the same level with myself. She’s my furry daughter and I can’t live without her. We truly have a special bond. ❤

Before I knew it was an actual thing, I did the “slow blinking” back to my cat not long after we got her. It wasn’t long before she started gravitating towards me more more and more soon after

HELP! What can I use to calm my awful dry and brittle hair? I should let you know, this is not normally a problem, but over the last eight months I have been through a horrible cancer diagnosis! Radiation for seven months and seven treatments of chemotherapy with what the oncology community lovingly calls “Red Devil”! It was horrible! Now my hair is my biggest problem! It is grey, I let it go to grey after the chemo! Also, any suggestions on how to Styx it would be greatly appreciated! I can’t seem to get a handle on that either! I am wearing it short for now!

Meeting a neighbor I was told the cat would attack me despite laying beside me. Had no problem with this “viscous” cat. However I never visited the neighbor again.

Two years ago, I was adopted by an American Bobtail Cat. He was at least 16; according to the neighbors. It took me less than a month to win his trust, and we had two great years together. He died about 7 weeks ago, and I still miss him every day! He was my little buddy. To be friends with a cat, it takes kindness, consistency and lots of patience. But once they trust you, it's forever.

My kitty is fascinated by scissors and wants to stick his nose into them when in use. Plus, he refuses to let any photo be taken unless he's in it.

What works with cats is what works with people: Respect their personal space, don't yell in their vicinity, but make an effort at verbal and gesture communication because they do want their existence to be acknowledged. People trying to treat any species of animal like they are puppies is the number 1 problem.
