The main way I see this going down, is Eris being killed, and our vengeance congers her back. I could also see her acquiring Sav’s throneworld through some kind of trickery.
One thing savathun is missing. Yes, Eris is not strong enough to defeat Xivu. However, eris is not alone. She has the greatest guardian in history to help her take down Xivu. Let’s get real, the guardians took down Crota, red army, oryx, the vex, and savathun herself.
So question when we kill someone, do we gain all the tithes or kills they've had? Like, what if we killed Savathun again? Would we get all the tithes she had throughout the eons that could be enough to kill Xivu for good.
@Aldo-uy1cz thanks I had this question for a while now. I was like "what about Rhulk and Nezerac?" Since y'know Rhulk killed his whole planet and many more and who knows how many people Nezerec killed or like anyone we've killed I thought all that shit would go to Eris.
The Vanguard: Oh no gang! A hive god! What are we gonna do? The Guardian awestruck that he still doesn't have a Xivu Arath pistol yet: Guys, PLEASE LET ME COOK.
Something even worst about the potential crossroad of Savathun's plan for Eris was how starkly similar it is to Elsie's Dark Future even if in this case it is out of necessity to slay Xivu and while the Vanguard is prepared for when Eris makes her choice it does not bowed well for the chances against Xivu Arath either. I am guessing Eris would have thought of it and has a measure to go around it and something tells me it would involve Savathun and Imaru. Imaru is getting ready to bail when things go south but it would be even worse if Xivu gets her hands on him and I would imagine Savathun would be pissed for not following through with her plans.
I love that Immaru knows Fynch is a traitor but still allows him to live. And i guess that's something the hive ghost have been calling "The Fynch Thing" i guess that's something that's becoming common now given there's a whole 'thing' now
I guess he and Savathun let Fynch's desertion slide because it would lead him to leading us to the memories that Lightbearer Savathun needed to remember who she was.
@Techhunter_Talon was probably also Immaru way of saying thank you since Fynch did help kill Savathun in a way that gave Immaru his position of command, which he absolutely loves.
Theres a lore entry about Savathun constructing a Murder Battery, and seeing how a lot of this seasons story seems to be similar to the Book of Sorrow when the Hive fought the Ecumene perhaps we'll see two ideas merged together where Eris kills Savathun and other Hive in an accelerated time frame in order to gain strength
Where is Fynch? It's ridiculous that he doesn't have a part to play in this. He literally led us thru the witch queen. Huge ball drop from the team imo.
The Vanguard did say they'd consider bringing Fynch back to the City if he proved an ally. But then bringing Failsafe back to the City was also high priority at the end of the Red War...
If I have to make a guess regarding what the "Heirloom" is, it's probably going to be a chapter of the Book of Sorrows that Savathun wrote herself. It may be one that details her time after she left Oryx's side. How she met the Witness, how she gained it's trust, and how she tricked and betrayed it and the disciples. Or, it may be something that the Witness gave to her. After all, she and Nezarec were the ones sent to Sol, carrying the Veil with them.
While I now hate Immaru even more I’m starting to get worried about him. Today he showed his true colors as the TFP Starscream type. And their stories never end well.
Eris won’t beat Xivu because that would involve animating a grand final battle amongst NPCs. This is just a season, not a DLC, so I recon we’ll go in there, shoot some stuff, see some slideshow pictures and move on. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t really have my hopes up.
An "Heirloom" by definition is a valued item or estate that is passed down from one generation to the next. Is the "Heirloom" for a Hive god something powerful? Like, idk... the Crown of Sorrow? There are a butteload of nightmares tied to that thing already. I bet that would come with a substatial boost to power for Eris.
Hey all -can't believe noone said it yet: Mara's Heirloom is probably her Ahamkara Egg. You know - the LAST Ahamkara in all of Destiny - lots of possibilities for wishing, right? Seems like a pretty good Heirloom to me. Besides, what else would they literally have to kill Mara Sov to take from her?
Sooooo spinfoil hat theory time. Eris keeps mentioning how she will have Xivu's worm devour herself, and all I'm thinking from that is that somehow Eris is gonna bloat Xivu's worm to such extreme proportions that she literally cannot sate it before I devours her. Alsoinb4Xivugetsturnedintoaguardian
I feel like Savathun is basing her info of eris off the dark future. I doubt that osiris would ever need to actually interact with Eris, thus savathun doesn't know the truth. Eris also now has support, the main thing elsie did differently. I feel Eris has too much of a reason to come back, that she won't want to hurt us. She's also the hive god of vengeance. What reason does she have for revenge against the vangaurd? They never left her, they didn't reject her, they never wronged her. She would gain no true tithes from killing the vangaurd.
Eris will have Immaru revive Savathun, and Eris/we will kill her as a tithe in order to become powerful enough to defeat Xivu. The heirloom will be a plot device for next season that is meant to help us get through the portal, something that will require time/work before we can use it. Eris won't go bad, it feels too obvious to have her succumb to the power. She will give up the power, but maybe keep Immaru as her own personal "ghost". Not like ours, but just a companion. Feels like he and her are developing a connection, and it definitely seems like he won't want to return to Savathun
Eris hung out with Mara quite a bit, I'm assuming she has her own cunning plan and in the end she'll wind up using Savathun and Immaru for her own plan somehow, maybe sacrificing them to herself as the tithe to get her power up to Xivu's level or something else. That and it's not like we should be that worried, our Hive god and major threat/big bad kill list is several miles long and Xivu is just going to become another weapon in the vault soon. We still need Savathun to get through the portal, but I'm guessing once we figure that out she becomes just as expendable as anyone else and will meet her end.
Yeah but he's dead either way if Xivu or we don't kill him. The Witness will given it will achieve it's goal if we don't kill Xivu and find a way through the portal.
ya know, I just thought of something. When was the last time Ghost was a part of a seasonal story? He never talks much aside from generic patrol dialogue stuff and whatever yearly expansion comes around...
If Eris only kills the Vanguard, (ones with ghosts) and does not deliver them a final death (not killing their ghosts) Then It might work for they can just revive after the tithes are claimed, defying the sword logic. But does she really need the power of the fallen and the cabal? We're the ones with the paracausal light that exceeds both races by a mile.

Immaru: when the plan goes belly up, I’m leaving
The Guardian: okay, don’t let the door hit you on the way out
And when we win, don't come crawling back unless you want to get dusted
Calling it now. It’s the heirloom is the 15th wish. It’s the only “pattern” that rings a bell and that could possibly be.
In the opening dialogue with Eris, she talks about having plans for Savathun and Xivu. That sure sounded like a Queen controlling her servants
Heirloom predictions: Taox, the first knife of the witness, something oryx/taken related, Taniks the Risen
Uncorrupted wish dragon egg, the pattern is the code in the last wish on the wall of wishes
3:25 Seeing Immaru backpeedle as Eris glared at him gave me a good laugh.
He *did* almost get crushed by the guardian for less
The main way I see this going down, is Eris being killed, and our vengeance congers her back. I could also see her acquiring Sav’s throneworld through some kind of trickery.

this dark future thing with eris isnt lookin so far now, this is concerning
