With coatings I'm not going to be using for awhile, I will actually vacuum seal them in bags. It's fast, easy, the bags are cheap and I definitely notice a difference. Even a little Food Saver vacuum sealer from Wal-Mart does a great job. You can reseal the same bag multiple times as you use the coating then seal and store it again. After sealing I place in a dark temp controlled place.
Scott what if we don’t have the luxury of being to garage keep the vehicle and it sits outside overnight after applying shield and the dew gets on it is it going to be a problem
I bought mine at noon Wednesday. I can't wait to use it. Scott is very informative. Heres another tip for everybody. GET THE SUCKER. Too! IT dries your vehicle superbly! Quality products without confusion or breaking the bank. Thank you Scott.
I can't wait to receive my order! I was blown away with the level of customer service I got from DPC. to be honest I bombed you guys with so many emails because I had so many questions. Scott got back to every question in a super fast timely manor. Thanks again Scott for all the help.
Just ordered both shield and armor.... I have white Toyota with 3 stage pearl paint.... I'm doing a small paint correction, and follow your instructions... I'm looking forward to trying this out.. . Great video Scott
Hey Scott I ordered last night, probably one of the first to order that late at night. I can't wait to use this product. This will be my first time applying a true ceramic coating.
Any suggestions on safest way to do maintenance washes after applying DPC shield? Many MFRs suggest that touching the car as little as possible is preferable (i.e., foam, rinse, blow dry and don't use a wash mitt or drying towel) , so I am curious to know whether you abide by that same logic, especially since you dispel a lot of the industry noise. We love you, Scott!
Just placed my order Scott, along with another Roman towel and my first Sucker Jr, love my other 2 Sucker Sr towels, LOL! Looking forward to getting this product, its getting applied on my wife's SUV and my buddy's RX-7. The wife's SUV has a spray on, hose off sealant on it right now and I'm happy with it but by the time I get this from you its going to be time to apply something new, I chose YOUR product for this Scott, it will be a great test and I'll let you know from time to time how its doing on there. The RX7 is my buddy's "toy", so its not going to get the same workout but I want his ride to look its best, once again Scott I'm chosing YOUR product for this special vehicle, its a 1979 that was repainted about 10 years ago and for the past 5 years I've been taking care of its paint.
Hey Scott, I applied the ceramic coating, however I only did a single panel wipedown with an ipa solution. I’m wondering if that was enough to remove the polish residue, I unfortunately used Meguiars ultimate polish which I know leaves behind some polishing oils. I did a very thourough ipa wipedown, but starting to wonder if that was enough.. so far ceramic coating looks great, but I guess time will tell. Any suggestions?
he talks about it in another video. i think 10%? Can't remember 100% off the top of my head but look up his video titled something like "is scott a sell out?" or something like that.
Scott, the leveling towel and the buffing towel, can they be cleaned and reused? I have seen differing opinions and was hoping you could clear it up for me.
Great demo as usual.Congrats on the 100k subs and your whole product line.Wishing continued success.Your one of the best and my favorite detail channel.
Thanks Scott. Learn so much from you. Questions, can coating withstand winter with much use of strong degreasing? Here in Norway there is a lot of salt on the roads.
Scott, couple of questions #1 w/Shield you can wash car with any type soap? # 2 already have a Armor coat on car. To put Shield on , should I strip the armor off? High pH soap? When installing Armor, the next day the trim especially looked smeared? Had to re wipe. It was full strength. Thanks
Recent sub. Thank you for all the down to earth, weekend warrior vids Scott. Extremely informative and I don't feel the need to spend tons of money with your methods and techniques. Keep up the great work my man!
Scott, respectfully i want to ask, noticed that your mentioned in testing paint prep used in this video had a color to it, in past videos you have mentioned your disagreement with the use of dyes, as they are geared towards retail market sales appeal. i have absorbed and started practicing using preps without dyes, based on this as i found your statements valid and useful, so i am curious as to if yours is colored and if so, I'm excited/curious as to why, I'm curious of the chemical process in this sense. great episodes, always, thanks for all of your valuable input and you making it receivable!
Hey Scott, Im tempted to purchase your DPC ceramic coating. I do not have a garage, therefore, contamination is possible. During the curing stage of the product, what would happen if say some bird droppings were to come in contact with the vehicle? Can I just use some QD and take it off, will this affect the coating? On the website, it only mentions avoiding moisture while curing, which I can easily plan for so that is not really an issue despite the lack of a garage.
You can pretty much just dust off the vehicle and apply the sealant. Quick rinse and dry is another way. Unless you drive around the car while it cure. Quick wash with a ph neutral soap that has no gloss enhancers or wax in it and dry after to remove the residue and apply the sealant.
@Dallas Paint Correction, will this product work on single stage red, daily driver, esp to stop the water spots after it sits in the parking lot in the rain and then the sun comes out? Struggling to find a protection product for this vehicle!?
Once you ceramic coat seal your paint, it’s just boosting the coating and no more polishing? What if you like to bring out the deep wet look, detailing your car?
Not sure why "Pros" call this an entry level SiO2 coating. DPC Shield fills minor scratches and levels amazingly; more so than other "Pro" coats I have used. It hardens very well after one day. Three days it is fully cured and very deep gloss. DPC Armor is also very easy topping and maintenance coat. Bonus to DPC Armor is it smells like bubble gum!
@@1989pulsar I did and saw nothing about the ceramic coating, so the reply was not useful. Neither was the "check the links" as I see no links It is common on UA-cam and Amazon for people so send one on a wild goose chase instead of simply answering the question, assuming of course they know...

Thanks Scott. Nice Video. Do think Armour DPC as a protectant for Headlights, once they've been sanded, buffed and polished (NO clear coat), would be a good option, for those who don't want to invest in a Hard Coat solution??
Hi Scott I just received my order of Shield and Armor. I immediately decanted Armor into a 1 litre bottle at 1:1 as recommended. Unfortunately the cost to buy the products and post directly from you to Australia was about $US120. I can get Gyeon and CarPro ceramic coatings from a local supplier for a reasonable outlay ($AUD90 for 50ml) and $AUD10 or even free postage. Is it possible that you may consider a local distributor here in Australia. I like the short turnaround time of Shield compared to other coatings I’m testing. Especially if I’ve done a mobile service. Just a thought. Now to wait for the rain to stop so I can fix all the problems of my new car and hit it with Shield and Armor. Great work. Love the honesty. Keep it up. Well done on 100k subs. Lloyd
Scott what would you recommend for a polish for a brand new black Silverado?Has some minor scratches and swirls. I ordered armor and can’t wait but want to do it right the first time! Thanks
Yes. Longetivy may vary though. Check out the DPC Facebook page. Lots of helpful & friendly folks that can help you obtain more information on your questions.
Congrats on the new product release, Scott! I haven't ordered yet myself, as I have some coatings stocked up to go through, first. Quick question; You reccomend at least three hours before a second coat, or even overnight if possible. Can UV or IR lamps be used to speed that up? If so, how long would you recommend for a cure cycle under the lights?
My wheels are scratched a bit because I have a 12 year old car and my wheels are aluminum. Is it okay to use super clean degreaser on those? What kind of car wheels is it harmful to?
I've used it on my rashed aluminum UTV wheels quite a bit and it hasn't done any damage. Seems to leave the finish a bit brighter if you dilute it in half rather than just full strength.
Is that paint prep yours? I think you mentioned in another video that you don't like dyes in preps. I'm just wondering cuz to me it makes sense that it shouldnt be dyed.
