New Super Mario 2 Softlock??

After beating birdo in 1-1, birdo’s orb flew towards the corner of the platform. Since I’m playing on an arcade stick movement is super difficult and I somehow find myself under the orb and I accidentally crouched. This locked me into crouch and I was unable to move. (Jumping actually played the jumping sound but I was unable to drift out and move)
