I like that he focuses on being fit and athletic instead of trying to build to much muscle
well, since he's a real martial artist, functional strength and agility is what he need. and not just aesthetic bulk up form like most hollywood actors did..
martial artist need strong body and flexibility, having a bulk big body make you slower

What he says is true. The best fighters are not the biggest guys on the field. They are the most lean, fit and fastest. Apparently, Joe was so fast, the director told him to slow down and he was still going too fast during MK movie.
He is actually a judoka guy. Did some wushu as a kid.

Agreed, i'm "toned" at 11% body fat and super out of shape. As long as you're less than 24% (For a man), you're good from a medical perspective. It's said Athletes range from 6-13% but that's probably more a consequence of genes and working out so much that you dont have the ability to compensate for your deficit, than it is low body fat = athlete. Roy Nelson and Fedor Emelianko were top athletes and clearly far from 13%.

I think most ripped guys are just skinny, and most muscular guys can't move for shit lol. That's why I mix heavy and light weightlifting lots of volume with rests no longer than a minute-minute and a half so that i'm always moving in the gym.

I hope that his recent boost in popularity due to Mortal Kombat will open up more doors in Hollywood. Marvel and/or DC, in particular, could benefit from his awesome presence and martial arts skills. Nonetheless, he carried the movie as Sub Zero. Easily the most memorable performance in that movie (next to Kano).

Honestly he shines in everything he's a part of (The Raid, The Swordsman, The Night Comes For Us, Warrior) - I hope we get to see him in a lot more and he gets the acclaim he deserves.
What the director did with him as Sub-Zero is amazing! Joe really made him terrifying with his body language and expressions through his eyes. Can't wait to see what he does when he eventually turns into Noob Saibot!
He's right when it comes to fitness, it should be simple, nothing fancy.
Joe Taslim is one of the better action stars out there, he ALWAYS sells his fight scenes! Seems like a true martial artist and a cool guy. I hope we see more of him in action movies and shows, especially as Sub-Zero or Noob Saibot.

He was able to strike fear into people with just his eyes as Subzero. He was excellent as Subzero and I look forward to 3 more films.
What's crazy is that his best Fighting style is Judo. He was never a Kicking type of guy until he started doing the movies with Gareth Evans and Co.
He had basic Wushu since he was young. And learn Pencak Silat with Iko Uwais in latter stage. He said that in his interview. that's why he can kick punch and not just having judo style

Saw this guy fight for the first time in Warrior TV series where he played Li Yong and dude was crushing it on long action scenes with no cuts. The guy is the real deal martial artist and was happy to see him in MK movie.

The guy they were saying was so fast the cameras were having trouble capturing the choreography...doesn't get bulky to keep his movements fast.its impressive,any1 who has seen him knows.he has been in some of the absolute best choreographed scenes in recent film

Night comes for us
Considering he was told by the MK movie director to slow down due to the other actors not being able to keep up with his speed, he could be way faster than what we've seen.
Finally an actual badass in one of these videos. His bagwork might not seem like much, but it is functional to precisely the type of fighting he has to do. Great martial artist and martial arts actor

I like this guy’s approach. You don’t really need a whole bunch of fancy equipment to get into shape.
Joe Taslim is a good Martial Artist. He killed it as Sub-Zero. I enjoyed the new MK film, it's not perfect, but it was an enjoyable film. The sequel should be pretty crazy. When it comes to working out, one should keep things simple, reasonable. You must find what works for you. Once this happens, the proper training can begin. Everytime I see Joe Taslim, he'd on point, with his movements and his physique.
