As an employee, I can tell you that it was worth it. Key word… was. For the last few years, members would get free installation and repair services when buying a new product and massive discounts when buying the services alone. That ended. Now free services are gone and the 2 day shipping is crap unless you live within 100 miles of a DC. It’s only worth it if you buy a lot of stuff from Best Buy and want to cover all of it.

Yeah it still kind of worth it, usually shipping is free and the warranty can add up even on one thing.

How do you get 24 months protection on a 1 year membership? Sounds messy. Why can't we just pay for a normal warranty?
Best Buy claimed they couldn't install my dishwasher and I paid a handyman hundreds of $$$ to install it after the fact. He said no reason why they couldn't...they just must not have wanted to
Thank you for the helpful video. I just signed up for the "Plus" program, which cost me $179.99 at my local store in SLC, UT. I signed up because I'm purchasing a MacBook Pro and the current "Plus" savings on a MacBook Pro are $99.95. I like that I have 60 days to use the MacBook Pro and make sure it's fast enough for my editing purposes. I also like that this program comes with Apple Care. And if my MacBook Pro goes on sale in the next 60 days I will get a refund/credit for the difference between the original purchase price and the sales price.
Hey just wanted to add, what you signed up for is Best Buy Total, not the Plus. Plus would have been $50 and does not come with any form of protection plan.
It was nice but the revamped membership stuff blows they completely took away the free install and they why i purchased the whole thing
Short answer is if youre gonna buy some big ticket items or want free installs then it was great but, now its been changed now and is virtually useless.

If I buy something and the total membership , does it carry on when I renew the membership.
My main reason for gettin it is having 2 tvs installed and the most important part, disposing of the boxes and the old tvs. It paid for itself with my 65" tv and was a benefit for the 48". Problem was the scheduling the install for the 2nd tv. However I will not renew.

Never needed Geek Squad...spent tens of thousands on gadgets and PCs over the years.
FYI - NEW update to memberships. I'm still grandfathered until renewal. However; they don't include installation. :/ little cheaper ($179.99, with other tiers for cheaper)

I love the membership.
I’m a total tech member because I save a boat load on extended warranties and being able to hand in an old device. It’s amazing but not for everyone.
I signed up for the plus membership because I thought the prices would be good, but I realized that the discounted prices are the same as amazon, I will cancel tomorrow. Seems like a waste of money and time for me

Nope
Nah not worth it! Company has been closing stores so if company goes out of business there goes the warranty and service as well. And also warranty only applies while you have this plan so basically spending $200 every year.
Per our experience, The Party Installers (Vendors) are the worst, and we were unable to get Best Buy to address our concerns….

It’s a scam they don’t want to do the repairs or send a geek squad agent to come to my house and give me the cost to fix it and I just paid my yearly 200$ membership. DONT PAG IT
It is worth it, I have had controllers break, headset break, and other items break...and they replaced them at the store without a question simply because I was a Totaltech member.
I got a PC if it stops working I can return it and get a replacement? They don't see my PC anymore ATM.

This is no longer true for my Best Buy total tech. This was very true but my Best Buy total it does nothing they tell you we can send it in for a pair and it’ll take like a month.

Total waste of money
Only worth it during a year when you buy stuff that requires installation services. In my case, I had them install 2 dishwashers and a bunch of security cameras outside within 1 membership year, and all installations were free (included in the membership). Just one of those dishwasher installs would've cost around $160 without the parts, so the membership fee was worth it for just that year only. Otherwise, hell no.

Love how you say the monitor is great for console gamers but, only MIGHT be ok for PC gamers becasue they can't support 4K gaming. Sorry but, I think anyone actually looking to play TRUE 4k gaming is going to run on PC. Upscaling with console is great but, also the only way 4k is possible. I hope you don't actually think your ps5 or xbox series x is in true 4k rastorization.
