You are very right on the mental health system in the UK. I went to my doctor about my long term depression getting worse and turning more nasty. He asked me had I been thinking about svicide or planning it. I told him that yes, I had been seriously thinking about it and considering methods. He said that he was referring me as urgent to the community psych team. Yeahhhh, we are around twenty years later and I NEVER got a call or heard anything else about it. Luckily I scared myself by admitting it and worked on my problems to help myself. But I got a little insight into how people can fall through the cracks.

I'm in university for Psychology, and you are absolutely correct. There is always some kind of underlying cause for things like this, (whether it be from abuse, rape, bullying, etc.) or a mental condition like depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, etc. These types of trauma are very hard to reverse, like you were saying with pedophiles. Making a TV show out of it also doesn't help the situation. It can make her feel like it's okay because they are glamorizing her addiction. It's also about being control, like you said before. Drinking blood may be her coping mechanism. You were also right about how there isn't space strong enough to take people seriously unless someone witnesses them trying to take their own life. I think that's, unfortunately, the reality we live in. Just having support and proper help (maybe even forcing help because of the dangerous situation, as well as talking to her to figure out the situation) will help her down the road to recovery.
As someone that’s going through alcohol addiction. I can say for 100% certainty that the only person that will be able to stop her, is herself. I hope that she eventually battles this addiction, just like I hope I battle mine.

This is one of the many reasons why I am studying to be a psychologist and why I advocate for better mental health care. Mental health is so often overlooked or even misdiagnosed so as to profit drug companies. It is not taken seriously enough and it leads to harm, either to the person affected by mental illness or others (example would be mass shootings). Money is all that matters to these corporations and it's sad and extremely damaging. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Daz always makes me smile I’ve had such a horrible day and honestly just a horrible month, I’ve had horrible anxiety and I haven’t been clean for weeks but Daz always helps me and makes me feel better ❤️❤️
I love how Daz is going into more and more depth with the problems with distractions, support, and just everything mental health related with each one of these My Strange Addiction videos. You’re a good person, Daz. I respect and appreciate your message.
Daz, you are a wonderful speaker, and I hear you. I am a restrictive eater and sometimes over exercise. It felt like it was the only control I had in my life, as everything else was controlled by someone else, whether it being family members or by a boyfriend. It's also a coping mechanism, as I have trauma from my childhood. I used to be very obsessed with my weight and with food, still am at times, but luckily, I have an amazing supportive partner who understands me. Haven't been underweight since.
I love how daz knows all this stuff on mental health and is talking about it in a serious context. but seriously if your not feeling well mentally please get someone who can help you. x
The good thing about all of these videos is that no matter how Sara turns out, no matter what she ends up doing, Daz will be ready. Like, she will not be able to shock him 😂
You are the most wholesome UA-camr to me. I feel this as someone with mental illness, people would only see me as doing this on purpose instead of just helping me.
Yeah, he makes you actually understand and feel bad for the person because they could've gone through horrible stuff that added up to this other than just laughing at her because she's weird, Daz is literally the best ❤
For those who get nauseous around blood like me, here's a tip: Try to convince yourself that it looks like vimto or any kind of berry juice, even though there's nothing appealing about this lady drinking anything
@@iluvjazz7650I drink Caribou and seal blood. I am Inuit and eat raw meat. I can see why people who didn’t grow up eating raw meat would think it’s nasty. I would not touch beef blood and especially not pork blood though. If you like cooked meat raw meat is much more satisfying…
@@gloriusk7105 just to clarify tho, I don’t think raw meat is nasty it’s more of blood! Raw meat doesn’t really make me feel that nauseous as long as it doesn’t have that much blood in the package or stuff!

daz, you are such an incredible person. i hate that you have to deal with these people coming to you for help when there isn’t much you can do, as i’ve gone through something similar. i’m just here to say that as someone who has experienced many of these things you describe it is amazing to see someone so understanding and so passionate about changing the system and HELPING people. you are a wonderful person and i just wanted to say thank you ❤
18:23 i couldn’t agree more. my auntie hung herself in 2021 and there is currently a case going on about the faults in the mental health system. it’s so heartbreaking for my family to sit in court and listen to all these nurses and doctors and people who are supposed to help mentally troubled people who have failed my auntie so much. it’s been so hard but honestly daz you have brought me happiness through the toughest 2 years of my life. thankyou from the bottom of my heart, the way you spread awareness on mental health along with making all your audience laugh is truly inspiring❤️
i have been watching you for 6 years now and honestly whenever i am upset or struggling, i just watch one of your videos and i feel instantly so much happier. daz you’re such an inspiration to millions of people, you have helped many many people laugh when struggling with very difficult things in their personal lives, and that is a very special gift to have❤️
It is so good to actually see an creator that knows how to healthily and realistically deal and help mental health. A lot of influencers say they understand and know what to do but do not extend on that whereas daz deeply connects and shares. For someone who is struggling in mental health and trying to get help, this is reassurance and reality and motivating. Well done Daz, been watching you for years and never fail to make me laugh and perform!!

My step mom is from the Philippines and my cousin has yearly pig roasts (blech) and my stepmom when she first came here to live had asked my cousin if she could have the blood that they drained from the pig and then proceeded to drink it for her breakfast every morning....my poor dad, who can eat ANYTHING literally had to get up from the table and said that was the only time he's ever almost been sick watching someone else eat!!! And trust me that says A LOT!!! So i am curious where this woman is getting her blood from? Edit: i just got my answer lol...
well, in some countries like here Finland, cattle blood is sold in supermarkets because there are some dishes that actually contain blood in them, like blood pancakes for example. So consuming small amounts of blood is complitely safe.
So what’s your dad’s opinion on Black puddings? You say your poor dad felt sick? More like he was highly judgmental… he eats animals so I don’t know how he felt disgusted.
@@morelorel youre more likely to get a disease from blood than cooked and processed meat. that is why he was disgusted, blood and raw meat is unhygienic. edit:typo

Low key, watching this video feels like Daz is a full on qualified psychiatrist. The way he behaves, speaks while also animating hand movements is such a vibe. Great vid bud
Okay, I haven't watched you in awhile, but this was so refreshing. Your view and honesty on mental illness is refreshing. So many youtubers like to push these issues away or laugh about them, but you were so spot on. Thank you and God bless you 🙏 ❤️

I really appreciate the way you talk about mental health and self harm issues I’ve been in therapy seen psychiatrist and no one’s ever explained the psychological reasons for it the way you just did and it’s helped me understand the reasons I’ve done it before thank you❤
As someone who suffers from PTSD and mental health issues because of my upbringing, sincerely, thank you for how serious and understanding you truly are even behind the jokes and poking fun at crazy things people do on these crazy shows.
I have been watching you since I was a pretty young kid, Daz. I'd say maybe 14 or 15 give or take a few years. One of my favorite things about you is not just the fact that you're hilarious and your videos bring lots of people joy, but the fact that you speak on important matters like mental health and things like that. You're humorous when it's appropriate, but you really do dive into the topic more than some people are willing to. The fact that you are informed and honest when some people are more likely to look the other way is one of my favorite parts of these Daz Watches videos. We need more content creators like you!
16:00 Daz, when you mentioned my exact past and who it happened by and how it is still effecting me, i nearly cried my eyes out. Ive never heard someone sound so upset for me. The closest people in my life couldn’t give a shit. Your sighs, and your physical frustration for people like us made me feel so comforted. Thank you Daz.
A lot of addictions may stem from abuse of some kind. Perhaps this woman had been abused in some way as a child or young adult…and then turned to this as a way to escape from the trauma. No one ever said it was healthy, but there may be something very hurtful she’s hiding behind this blood addiction.

Daz talking about the werewolf and Angel wing stuff was spot on. Like I thought I was a werewolf bc I just felt I was so small, powerless, and worthless that I wanted to feel special and powerful. I was bullied and my parents weren’t supportive and had no idea I was depressed my whole life until I was like 16 and said I wanted to 💀. @@morelorel like i told you before, raw meat and blood is more likely to carry diseases, youse some common sense love
i have massive obession with vampires and even I wouldn't go this far, its just unhygenic.
@@vampyr.cryptid You’re just repeating yourself because you know i’m right, anyone is a risk at disease… should we all just stop living?
This is one of the many reasons why I am studying to be a psychologist and why I advocate for better mental health care. Mental health is so often overlooked or even misdiagnosed so as to profit drug companies. It is not taken seriously enough and it leads to harm, either to the person affected by mental illness or others (example would be mass shootings). Money is all that matters to these corporations and it's sad and extremely damaging. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Daz always makes me smile
I’ve had such a horrible day and honestly just a horrible month, I’ve had horrible anxiety and I haven’t been clean for weeks but Daz always helps me and makes me feel better
❤️❤️
I know i don’t know you, but i hope you are doing okay, and i am so proud that you are trying 🫶 keep it up :))
I hope things start to look up for you soon!! I’ve been there myself, it does get better ❤
what daz said after 5:43 perfectly described what i was thinking
What Daz said in this vid literally brought me to tears I really needed that thanks Daz.
I love how Daz is going into more and more depth with the problems with distractions, support, and just everything mental health related with each one of these My Strange Addiction videos.
You’re a good person, Daz.
I respect and appreciate your message.
"I dont need to suck your neck, guaranteed she thinks shes a vampire, shes in Twilight too much" Daz's commentary is a blessing
I think u need to go back to primary school cuz vampire and campfire aren't even simular

These are all pre recorded. He’s out of town and not even looking. He made this clear about a week ago 😂
@@HughWoo Oh yeah, I should have said “Seeing a prerecorded video of Daz pop up on my screen”… Seriously? What’s your issue?
12:00 - STABBED BY BUS!!! 😂
Daz is legit the best person when reacting to weird people
Yeah, he makes you actually understand and feel bad for the person because they could've gone through horrible stuff that added up to this other than just laughing at her because she's weird, Daz is literally the best ❤
he’s amazing. i always smile watching his videos
Not Daz being a therapist. Love you Daz. Thank you for the talk.
15:50
Wow… that was one hell of a speech, and I will always remember it ❤
For those who get nauseous around blood like me, here's a tip:
Try to convince yourself that it looks like vimto or any kind of berry juice, even though there's nothing appealing about this lady drinking anything
Thank you blood is nasty nasty! but fruit punch is a way better thought, I don’t feel that sickish anymore now that I think it’s juice thanks🦈
@@iluvjazz7650I drink Caribou and seal blood. I am Inuit and eat raw meat. I can see why people who didn’t grow up eating raw meat would think it’s nasty. I would not touch beef blood and especially not pork blood though. If you like cooked meat raw meat is much more satisfying…
you have such a kind heart i hope you’re having a wonderful week
@@gloriusk7105 cool! I don’t really like meat in general but maybe one day!
@@gloriusk7105 just to clarify tho, I don’t think raw meat is nasty it’s more of blood! Raw meat doesn’t really make me feel that nauseous as long as it doesn’t have that much blood in the package or stuff!

I was S/A by my grandfather when I was 5 to when I was 11 so I can relate to this but I do have one thing to say.
“Take the world by storm whether it’s good day, a bad day, a holiday, a funeral, no matter what there’ll always be something happy to hold onto”
I hope your doing alright now pookie ❤
What does S/A mean?
daz, you are such an incredible person. i hate that you have to deal with these people coming to you for help when there isn’t much you can do, as i’ve gone through something similar. i’m just here to say that as someone who has experienced many of these things you describe it is amazing to see someone so understanding and so passionate about changing the system and HELPING people. you are a wonderful person and i just wanted to say thank you ❤
18:23 i couldn’t agree more. my auntie hung herself in 2021 and there is currently a case going on about the faults in the mental health system. it’s so heartbreaking for my family to sit in court and listen to all these nurses and doctors and people who are supposed to help mentally troubled people who have failed my auntie so much. it’s been so hard but honestly daz you have brought me happiness through the toughest 2 years of my life. thankyou from the bottom of my heart, the way you spread awareness on mental health along with making all your audience laugh is truly inspiring❤️
i have been watching you for 6 years now and honestly whenever i am upset or struggling, i just watch one of your videos and i feel instantly so much happier. daz you’re such an inspiration to millions of people, you have helped many many people laugh when struggling with very difficult things in their personal lives, and that is a very special gift to have❤️
So sorry for the loss, I hope you and your family get justice ❤️❤️

15:13 ok but this whole self harm bit that daz said is like completly spot on at least for me
i’m getting my phd in psychology and everything he has said is so spot on. thank you for being so open and honest and most importantly, correct.
I just wanna hug you and cry.. so nice to see how concerned you are abt people you don't even know and even tho you're not a psychologist just watching your video's helped me personally so so much and really puts my mind at ease with just some words ur saying.. thank you for being here❤️
9 minutes in.. I love how he can't even finish his nervous laughter about the bit, before stone face assuring us that of course he NEVER has deep throated his mic xD
Daz never fails to entertain us
Daz: “This blood drinking is a cry for help and...calm down microphone I’m not gonna deep throat you” 😂😂😂
Not only is Daz funny but also can do serious videos like this, addressing issues that people dont want to address. My favorite youtuber by far!
the behavioural analysis within this video is top tier
@@morelorel youre more likely to get a disease from blood than cooked and processed meat. that is why he was disgusted, blood and raw meat is unhygienic.
edit:typo
well filipinas have dishes that made with bloods like pork dinuguan (blood) but it's not normal for me as a filipina also to hear that she drinks it lol
@@vampyr.cryptid Are you saying you’ve never had a medium rare steak or a black pudding, is your only excuse “a disease” you risk having a disease or food poisoning with loads of animal foods. I don’t see no issue, you guys just judge way too easily..
This man is so knowledgeable on mental health and all the problems that come with it
Daz is so well spoken.
Thank you for speaking out on things that don’t get talked about enough. Using your platform for the better. The amount of times I’ve been feeling low and I come straight to your channel and just laugh the whole way through.
Daz is literally a therapist at this point😭 he helps everyone including myself
Daz is so fucking smart this showcases his self-awareness and observance. Like i didn’t realize how smart he is. Go daz 🎉
Low key, watching this video feels like Daz is a full on qualified psychiatrist. The way he behaves, speaks while also animating hand movements is such a vibe. Great vid bud
I want Daz as a therapist 😭
We need a 'Therapist Daz' video
Okay, I haven't watched you in awhile, but this was so refreshing. Your view and honesty on mental illness is refreshing. So many youtubers like to push these issues away or laugh about them, but you were so spot on. Thank you and God bless you 🙏 ❤️
you always know how to make everything great daz, youre being so supportive and 16:32 as a victim of various times i completely agree. Most people take their lives because the trust was broken. stay being you, i hope all those who are struggling with any type of abuse or mental illness can get the treatment they need and have their voice heard.
"Calm down microphone im not gonna deapthroat you. OAHH HaHaHaHa....now this is a cry for help"
I love how Daz is breaking down her behaviors 😂
It’s so funny that he still has the same reaction that makes me laugh.Daz will always be in our hearts❤❤❤
ikr he's the best ❤️
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how wise and aware Daz is 💯
A lot of addictions may stem from abuse of some kind. Perhaps this woman had been abused in some way as a child or young adult…and then turned to this as a way to escape from the trauma. No one ever said it was healthy, but there may be something very hurtful she’s hiding behind this blood addiction.

Saw this a year ago when i had it back, im seing it again now where im getting help i still have it bad but im getting help thanks for posting still you're amazing
My dad still doesn’t understand me but I know now why I believed what I did and how I just wanted an escape. God I stopped talking about it bc I’m pretty sure I started karate and that helped.
Daz, It's not everyday a youtuber or a person in general talks about mental illness and goes into it as honestly and realistic as you did. Much respect
I LOVE HOW BRUTALLY HONEST DAZ IS-
