Love you’re videos, you are so handsome always wanted to ride in a truck take me with you haha
Keep positive and always ignore the negative comments those people are negative to everyone, besides in their own life
You were there a day early. The truck that came in after you was probably at his scheduled time and day. That's why he got priority.
Stay strong sir. Longest I ever waited to be Loaded/Unloaded was 8hrs. Told my company, but they don’t care as long as the truck is loaded. Plus, if your getting paid by miles you need to go OFF DUTY when getting Loaded/Unloaded.
Good idea
29:03 once you’re done with your duties, you can PC to a truck stop legally.
Not all companies has that option
@@Steelix371 well they should because that is DOT regulation!!!
Alex, as a truck driver in training I was glad to see you do a 90 in your truck, I test on Wednesday, in a sleeper, after practicing skills in a day cab (transmission in test truck exploded) Thanks for a great example of how to do it, and finish off the maneuver.
Good luck
For clarity:
Your 11 hr drive and 70 hr weekly clocks stop whenever you go off duty. 14 hr clock will keep going regardless of the status you’re in because at maximum your day can’t be longer than 14 hrs unless you’re doing a split shift. (Whole different explanation. Ask google or your employer 😅) Your ELD “should” auto place you into on duty if you forget to take yourself out of drive. Additionally your tablet depending on your company may allow you to edit if you stayed in a status didn’t intent to be.
Samsara will automatically kick you into an on duty status after like 10 minutes
Dude keeps blaming the Truck when he's the problem... he wants to do it perfect everytime 😂
Every video you don’t think you can make the turn and so far you make it every time lol
When you do your precheck do you pull truck up for better lighting?
How this trainwreck is possible, I truly have no idea.
Turn on the split sleeper toggle in the settings. While you are waiting for offload to be completed go into sleeper birth. 2 hours pass and your time will jump back to the time it was at when you went off duty. Samsara tip for you
Be safe this holiday. Enjoy your time off. Also, you're only less than 200,000 from a million. You are so appreciated and well liked. Stay safe!
Your constantly sawing at the wheel there's no need for all that, that backing was super easy slide your tandems forward until you get straight in line with the door then slide them back, you thinking about it to much and making it way harder then it should be,
He's been traumatized by the whole trucking experience. He's also a "scared running" trucker. All he has to do is relax and pay attention to what he is doing. Things will get worked out, and getting hyper about this only makes it worse. He's young, it's obvious trucking isn't his thing.
@@plantmanstudiosso you knew everything on day one right?? Why is it your job to judge another trucker who does things differently??? If you don't like it don't watch
@@truckercowboyed2638bud he’s been driving for over a year he should know this by now that back in was easy I could back in that trailer with one hand out the window and the other on the wheel no problem
@@truckercowboyed2638it’s not day one is it???he’s been doing this for 2 years
@@itzricky7721so not everyone is the same as you that doesn't mean they aren't capable of the job...2 years is still rookie....
I know in my Frightliner I turn off Creep mode and it's alot smoother backing up
my rule of thumb is i never let my tank go down the half a tank mark, maybe just a little but refuel at the first gas station i see.
Dang, I had to rewind to hear your stop...you were at the Love's off of Whiteland Road, literally 3 miles from my house! Safe travels my friend!
Loved the video ❤ keep up the good work Alex
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend,Alex, wherever you are.😊😊😊😊
Lol button for smooth backing💀
Yeah cause you took 2 hours to get backed in
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@offgridoldfart8110 it's crazy it really is people can't say he's new cause he's been driving for 2 years maybe more, he just don't have common sense, that was a easy backing I woulda been in the hole in probably 2 minutes
@@nickbeckham14It's infuriating watching him make a 5 minute back into a 40. He should have kept his Tandems Forward and hit the inside dock. Spin it tight as you can and pull it straight up. A nice and easy 45 degree back.
The warehouse I work at you can be waiting up to 5 hours to get loaded/unloaded but there is only 1 forklift operator and b double trucks in aus
That’s pretty cool that someone recognized you off of UA-cam. 😃🚚
807k subscribers is amazing
(Freightliner also known as freight shakers) I hated backing with a freightliner.
1 - you gotta get out and look more often,
2-cant be so picky on parking...u see all those trucks in the same situation as you.
Carrier I was with. have been using Fuel Optimizer for along time.
Werner doesn't use that system .
Alex, I worked for a company that would reward drivers that gave them new customers to haul to and from. You should keep a log of everywhere you pickup and deliver to. You're a young guy, you've already been with 3 companies, more to come, for sure.
After either Live loading or live unloading, Drop/ Hook while in yard movement than you switch back to Driving
Than this would not eat up the hours that you have for driving.
That’s good bro the truck tires are called drives
Hi Alex I like and love your driving, I am Code 14 driver who lives now in Milwaukee Wisconsin USA , I did live in Cape Town South Africa, I’m now 3 years in the USA
28:34 just like HEB San Antonio Tx.
If your getting paid by the HOUR then you do need to be ON DUTY. Don’t waste your clock and save your TIME by going OFF DUTY when getting loaded.
Fun fact- did anyone else know Alex did a ad for GP when he started driving for them.
If it keeps the ticket monster away you go out of route to scale
Thats what freightliners do they shake while backing. You have to just roll with it and keep going
28:00 they probably had an appointment for that day and yours was tomorrow so they did theirs once they got there to follow appointments
Sometimes, I have to wonder if you like driving trucks or just complaining about the issues no matter what shipper or receiver you go to. They aren't to get you unloaded or loaded within your appointment time, so go into sleeper berth.
Oh please like you older truckers don't complain, don't be a hypocrite
@@truckercowboyed2638 Lmfao fr tho
@truckercowboyed2638 First off, everybody complains not only older drivers but I'm pretty sure if there was competition for complaints you would be top of the class.
@@silverhawk24pretty sure you would be in the top class as well of complaining.
@@patricktyler4303 dude your just proving our point even more
Most of those grain bins have a scale house
They also pick your fuel stops for road tax purposes.
Ah yeah the ol fuel solutions. Company I work for does those too. Ain't the worst but sometimes it trolls you.
That truck hauling the tanker was a mid roof kenworth w900
No way Alex . We double deck all our loads
Run 76k to 78k every wk Ohio to Dallas. 3 days round trip
Not dangerous at all
I prefer to adjust the weight to where the trailer tires get as much legal weight possible. Less work on the truck.
I would have checked with that grain elevator across the street from your pick up to see if you could have gotten weighed there
There’s no way your drive time should count down if you are parked ? How you let that happen ?
Forgot to go off duty? I go off duty for 2 minutes if I have to. Every second counts.
Why didn’t you go “ on duty not driving”. Your burning your 14 but not you 11
Alex, towards the end of this video.... what was your Duty status while you were sitting in the dock waiting to be unloaded? How much drive time was remaining when your first arrived at the receiver? Curious about how you operate your clock.
Getting loaded unloaded arriving at shipper or leaving shipper you should always be in on duty same with your pre trips and post trips . Shutting down is obviously off duty and when your ready to go in the can sleeper berth
@@qu3ll679it's off duty when getting unloaded or loaded and on duty for pre/post trips or fueling
The way I do it is a soon as I arrive at the shipper or receiver. I put myself on duty I only stay on duty for no more then 15 minutes then Move to the Off-Duty position until am done and have my paperwork remember that ur on-duty time Count against ur drive time so the less time you spend on-duty the better
Grain elevator might have scales
lordy get out a look and use PC to get to a truck stop if you dont have a choice to leave a shipper or receiver ... not borrowing time
Known as " Fuel Optimizer" company uses selected truck stops for fuel
Not kingsford but Kingsport isn’t very far from where I live.
We’re you near Reading,Pa today? Looked like you at least . Lol
29:53 if you go on sleeper, after 2 hrs, you gain back what you didn’t drive.
Just take a 10 hour break lol
@@Steelix371 sometimes you can’t, you need to keep moving! I rather just wait 2 hrs to gain some drive time to get out of there, than have to sleep on their lot for 10 hrs!!!
The Kenworth semi cab that you saw Alex was a T800 I'm pretty sure.
Why do so many drivers make it harder for themselves by sliding trailer tandems to the rear I don’t get it
Hey Alex be safe out there
Love your videos Alex! Keep up the great work. Have a fun and safe Labor Day! God bless you.
Great content continue to be safe driver.
Keep your foot on the gas. It won’t do that as much. I drive freightshakers everyday
Exactly. I think he lets off and hits it too often which makes it shake.
Be safe out there my friend!! Love your videos!
You have to split break and that will pause you’re 14 hour clock
One day Alex is going to be standing at the altar about to get married, and he is going to say, “I don’t think I can do this..”.

Simp to the max
And the man he’s marrying is going to ask him if he turned the flashers off on the van when he parked.
You’re going to my hometown!
Alex, When you arrive at the costumers facility - You would have to change to Yard Movemwnt from Driving
Leclerc foods make great cookies. You were at a cookie factory my friend.
Those seats look good
Alex, I’m a local driver in Michigan and ALOT of places I got to, I end up staying there 2 - 4 hours waiting to get off loaded and reloaded. A lot with the UAW deadline coming near my company majorly deals with the Big 3 automakers. So if that happens we won’t have any work. There going to have us go to Indiana for 2-3 weeks to do loads for Toyota. Which will suck and be cool at the same time. Sucks because I’ll be away from my family , but cool because I’ll be doing something different. Drive safe buddy.
Our company does fuel recommendations not requirements
Now that your weight is legal check and see what your suspension guage shows and the next time you pick a heavy load just see what your suspension guage shows and that will tell you whether you need to slide your tandem’s
Did you get detention pay for sitting around four hours?
32:29 Alex, I like to take some 2X6 planks that I can use to level the truck!
Came here to tell him the same, one or two under a steer tire can make a huge difference. Also I switch back and forth on which end of the bunk I sleep on.
@@mikefeddersen2476 I don’t mind sleeping on an incline, but my head is always higher.
How often are trucker's allowed to go scale the load?
After we pickup the load. If its over 30K lbs I scale as soon as I leave the shipper
@@lvlPsychosis I'm asking though how often are truckers allowed to scale. I imagine the company is paying for the scale each time so I'm wondering if their is a limit on how often.
@@Ohiostategenerationxit depends on the company but i get 2 new weighs a day and 3 or 4 reweighs for each new weigh.
The parking place may be sketchy but its free correct?
App not set up for a split break. It allow you to get some of your time back?
Not all companies let you do that
There was an out went express truck
Why not split your clock when you’re sitting at a shipper? In Samsara - Settings > HOS Settings: Make sure the Split Sleeper Toggle is ‘ON’. This way, when you split your clock, it’ll automatically give you your time back. Just make sure you go into ‘sleeper birth’ at the ends of your shift to complete the split.
Not all companies have that option
@@Steelix371 I’d be shocked if GP didn’t have this option enabled.
Go on duty,, Don't let drive time keep going
Hello Alex, let me ask you how much does truck drive earn weekly ?? Or rather per months
Alex if you want smooth backing you will need a Volvo 😂 not a freight shaker
Alex that’s truck sped alongside you w900
More weight on the trailer saves fuel..its not much savings but every drop counts
As a company driver they don’t care lol

They did not just start doing that.. They've been doing it for about a year.
It would be nice to see a bit more of what goes on than you arriving for the pick-up and then showing the drop-off. All we really see is you backing into spots. Can you show other stuff that goes on?
Someone explain: If everybody knows there are weight limitations on highways... why risk it and send items that are heavier than such limitation? Why put drivers thru the whole stop-at-the-scale-to-check-if-I'm-legal sheanenigans?? That's only gonna cause delays and extra costs...
Some companies never pay attention to how the load a truck, like Budweiser in Columbus Ohio. The forklift guys must drink during their shift, I have always had to go back at least once to have pallets moved around, or removed.
When you haul water, it's always scaled out perfect. A pallet of water weighs the same as a pallet of beer...😢
They usually dont send out loads that are heavier than legal. if a load is 80K Ibs that is legal, but you have to distribute the weight so that the axles split the weight under 34K, thats our responsibility thats why we have to scale to check the distribution. Often times the shipper will load it in a way where it cant be distributed legally and we have to go back. And ive only had 1 load me over 80K gross
Beggars can't be choosers, dude. Truck driving is not condusive to being a prima donna.
Why did your drive time keep running if you were only on duty?
14 hour clock
@@Steelix371 ah okay he meant his 14 hour
I really like watching your videos but you frustrate the hell out of me! Lol You make things WAY harder than they have to be.
Could you drive all night and sleep during the day? Guessing maybe not when you get loaded durinf regular hours, but just curious...thx
Yeah you just have to tell your company to book the deliveries to be due early morning. I prefer to drive during the day though. For a while I would start at 12am and end around 12pm but I always ended up stopping for at least 1hr to take a nap. I can't do night driving
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUY thanks for the personal reply! 😁 I have been a sub since your channel was small. I'm so proud of what you have built and you absolutely deserve it. Cheers friend.

why do truckers need "brokers"... Cant there be an app for that? that just wasted money it seems?
You know if you went on sleeper birth sitting at the dock you would get some of that time back plenty enough to get down the road it’s called split clock
where is the Riding with Dave Collab
That 4 hours U didn't drive u get that time back when the 14 hours run out
You have got to lay off the 4 ways. Man it's non-stop ticking. Flashers aren't your save all.
Can you imagine if you didn't have power steering... like in the old days? and manual gear box?
I have a 22 freightliner cascadia 10 speed. No automatics for our company.
I always say that freight drivers need to drive with their axles back to see how us lowboy operators feel
However, we’re lucky enough to never have to dock also
You mean driving around with nice stiff Hendrickson suspensions? 😂
