    I almost died on this grade due to being young and invincible(Reckless)
    I had gotten a new car, a 5-speed, and didn't brake the entire way down this grade.
    By the time I knew it, I was going 115mph+
    and I saw a sign that said, "There may be stopped cars ahead." there was.
    My tires smoked, and by the time I got to my destination in NC, my tires were down to the wire, and my clutch was gone.
    After that day, I've been driving like you Alex, Like an old person :p

    Good job Alex. I saw you backing up. Even if your angle is too shallow you can pull up from the hole and turn sharp left and pull up then back into yourself and you will have less of a shallow angle. It will be more straight. Also when you set up. You can turn at one spot instead of 2 when you have more space.

  • @davidbryanttrucking
    @davidbryanttrucking 9 місяців тому +7

    I don't know about your automatic... But usually if you bump that cruise control down like 5mph below your target speed down a hill with the Jake's on, it will kick on the Jake's for you and gear down accordingly. Keeping you at your target speed.
    In a manual however fast I came up the hill is how fast I need to go down the hill if I don't want to smoke my brakes when fully loaded. 😂

    • @miltonmoore1690
      @miltonmoore1690 9 місяців тому +2

      It has to be set up that way. But when it is it works very well.

    • @Commy01
      @Commy01 9 місяців тому

      When I used cruise control, it would never kick on the Jake automatically, I had to flip in on myself. That said, the Jake in my Cascadia was a beast.

    • @davidbryanttrucking
      @davidbryanttrucking 9 місяців тому +1

      @@Commy01 you have to have the switch flipped for it to work but it won't just come on unless you get about five miles over your set speed. It's part of the adaptive cruise. When it's set right you don't have to tap your brakes to get the Jake's to engage going down hill. It just knows your going over your set speed and does it. Then you can just adjust between the high, medium, an low settings. Usually all on the steering wheel or part of the shift selector on the column.
      You can also use manual mode to achieve a similar process.
      Both save the hell out of your brakes.
      I started out on and currently drive a manual 10 speed... So I found out how to do it by accident when I was driving the automatic because I was driving it in manual mode in the hills most of the time. Then a driver who was more proficient with them told me how to catch the RPMS and maintain torque with the cruise on by setting it below your desired highway speed which would cause it to shift sooner when you got the bottom or when you were coming down and that's when I found out the Jake's worked like that in cruise mode coming down.
      Talk about maximum easy mode. 😂

    • @davidbryanttrucking
      @davidbryanttrucking 9 місяців тому +1

    Nobody needs yo pay your showers!
    And stop parking 10 minutes, when it can be finished for 3 minutes.
    7 trucks waiting for your experiments, which are not adequate.

    If you drive through Omaha, Nebraska, please be extra careful because there are drivers that will cut off or street race other vehicles. My family and I almost got sideswiped on the highway by five vehicles that were street racing each other well over 100mph. This happened a couple days ago when my family and I were on vacation in Omaha. Drive safe out there Alex! I also noticed that you were hauling some Milwaukee brand power tools. I'm from Wisconsin, and those are the best power tools you will find on the market. Keep up the great work on the videos! Lots of love from Wisconsin! God bless you!

    Your truck and trailer has disbreaks, not drums. They won't fade going down the mountain.

    Truckers drive a bit slower than the regular flow and they use hazards to indicate that they are there so everyone could see them from far away
