For bigger YFT I would suggest the FG knot. It's VERY strong and flies through the guides. There's a few ways to tie it. Google it and see what works for ya.
The most important part of the bimini is how tightly the line does the second coil around itself. I wish the Angler had done this a little slower, and with camera in tighter.
Whenever using fishing line as a subject on camera, you should use the black material background so that it would be more pronounced on the camera / video also wear a Solid black shirt as background to the line being more visible
That's a pretty big reel for tuna, but any of the heavier Carnage spinning rods in 7' or 6'6" should work. For a bigger reel like that you're going to want a shorter, stouter rod to handle bigger tuna.
Every time i tie the bimini, my mono (Or braid) loop ends up twisting horribly. I'm sure it is a simple thing that i am missing... but can anyone chime in?
it shouldn't. follow these steps and you'll get a perfect little knot with no twists. The twists should make up the knot and be locked down out of the way.
You can use it to attached a heavy leader with an albright not using the double line the bimini has formed. You can also use it to cats paw on a swivel for trolling.
We think this method is easier and faster. That's similar to the more traditional method using your knees and feet. Give them a try and let us know what you like.
Best description I’ve seen. 👍🏻
THanks. It really makes it easy!
Just done it BOOM love it!!
So easy!
Need to get this down for the upcoming 2023 bft season outta SD. Via Cortez
This and the FG are the way to go if you're doing a wind on or loop to loop connection.
that was an AWESOME video!! Thanks so much!!
Glad it helped!
That’s a great way to do a Bimini. Thanks for the video!
It really is!
Thanks for the content. A knot I find tricky at times just got a whole lot easier
that was the idea! Glad it helped!
Nice one
So easy?!
Awesome video and thanks Ali. Very informative. Can't wait to try this.
Glad you enjoyed! Put it to work.
Good video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Great info...again.
Thanks again!
good job !
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks, Ali. Can you do an episode on leaders? Connections, types, lengths, target fish, etc?
Coming very soon!
Awesome
Thanks for watching!
Could you cats paw a Bimini onto a swivel?
1000% Works great for that.
Ok after the knot is finished ! Then do you tie a leader too it ? And then tie it too the hook ? Lure ?
Correct. YOu use the double line to connect your leader usually by an modified albright.
Finally, I don't have to use my foot or my fishing partner. Love the show and content guys. When are you going to do a N.E. canyons trip?
Thanks for checking it out. We have been talking about doing the Northeast very soon and the Canyons are top of the list.
New sub
Thanks for subbing
Can we do Bimini knot on any braid lines like spider stealth, berkley whiplash, suffix 832?
Yes!
@@LocalKnowledge Thank you so much 👍
Awesome vid! When using the albright, do you wrap the mono around the braid or the braid around the mono? I've seen both ways on youtube hahaha
Braid around the mono ALWAYS. The other way will cause the braid to cut the mono. Good luck.
❤
Hey guys. How would you recommend tying a non-hollow braid to Flouro for a leader when jigging YFT? Thanks
FG Knot
Spider hitch

Thank you All!! Tight Lines!

You're correct. This method puts so much pressure on the wraps you almost can't mess it up.
Whenever using fishing line as a subject on camera, you should use the black material background so that it would be more pronounced on the camera / video also wear a Solid black shirt as background to the line being more visible
We are workign on the knot videos. They are very hard to film. We will get better.
What rod would you recommend with a 10500 Penn slammer 3 for tuna fishing with lure casting and live bait?
I am would like it to be at most 100 bl

I should show the getto FG knot.
Let's see it!
@@LocalKnowledge I'll ask my wife to video it.
How about some catch and release? Set a good example
It's hard to release a knot, but we will try. We also release most of the fish we catch keeping just a few for dinner.
What do you with a Bimini no one ever says.
You can use it to attached a heavy leader with an albright not using the double line the bimini has formed. You can also use it to cats paw on a swivel for trolling.
The Spider hitch is easier AND stronger.
EAsier yes, stronger no.
#420 like lesssgooooo
Thanks for watching.
what's your opinions of tying the bimini like this? it's hard to explain so here's the link to the video i saw ua-cam.com/video/9yab4-61Hp8/v-deo.html

It's not a trick
It helps.
