Man that's just the kind of stuff I need to learn for offshore! Saving this video. What was it that you dad said he would put on the knot? Sounded like vaset??
I actually had you in mind making this video... not that you don't know stuff but I'm trying to cater these to 'older' guys who are just starting to get offshore (myself included). I'll be doing a whole series of these, if for no other reason than as reminders to myself.
He puts Zap-A-Gap on knots for anything over 40lb. That line can get so thick that knots might slip, Zap will glue the line to itself without making it rigid and brittle like superglue does.

Sure... that's an option too. It's a little overkill but nothing wrong with that.
