  • In this video, Brian Flechsig from Mad River Outfitters shows you two different methods of tying a bimini twist, either at a workbench or simply by using your knee. Brian describes the application of the knot and he also shows how to tie it on a bright fly line so you can see visually how the wraps work. Brian takes one of the scariest fishing knots and makes it easy to understand!

Best and clearest demo of the knot that has plagued me for YEARS.

Great tutorial. I appreciate you taking a few minutes to actually teach how to tie the knot.

The Command strips/hook idea is brilliant. That’s got to work much better than using my knee. Thank you!

Great 👍🏻 saw this knot first when I bought a reel with some backing from the US and shipped to Germany a few weeks ago. Now I know the knot too which I wondered about. And my first saltwater trip is in November so that’s the way I will prepare my backing for my fly lines! Thx Brian!!!

Thanks for doing this! I was asking Brian in his shop about a month or so ago to do this video.

Great tutorial - I’m still going to be out of backing by the time one of mine sits like that.

Could you also twist the loop on the front of the fly line after putting the leader loop over it once to make a stronger line to leader connection?
