Actually, after a Munro video of the under-body and suspension, apparently the design of the suspension is greatly influenced by safety factors in case of a side collision to sort of "fold" the wheel in ways to protect the occupants and absorb the impact.

Still can't stop thinking if this structure is too weak. You can get similar force when sliding sideways and have the tire hitting some ridge.

Same thing happened to that spindel that happened to the bolt. Looks like some sort of hardened alloy the way it sheared, and not the thickest for an already heavy truck. Those tracks really put a lot more leverage on the suspension, compared to the stock tires which are pretty much straight underneath instead of way out to the side of the vehicle. Basic physics in action, like Archimedes was calculating over 2000 years ago, the longer the lever, it either takes less effort in to get the same force out or the same effort to get a much greater force....

They should take a look at where the spindle broke to see if there are any voids (it would look foamy, with gas bubbles in the metal).
Tesla has had issues in the past with cast aluminum parts where suspension parts broke because of poor casting techniques. I think they ironed all that out, and that probably isn't the issue here, but it would be useful to check.

Fulley expected failure. I see you employed the nothing ever tears along the perforations theory of repair and maintenance often used in aviation . I first became aware of that theory when a aerospace engineer who spent his life working at the skunkworks told me that if I have a stress crack occurring in my main Spa just stop drill it and then drill several more holes and it will never break because nothing ever tears along the perforations then he demonstrated with the role of paper towels that I had right next to me and sure enough it did not tear along the perforations! Ps when you said get a spindle for it I laughed out loud .

With the width of those trax it seems like they should allow for flex at the attachment point. They work on the beefed up solid axle, Jeep, though. I imagine at a certain point all the vehicle side attachments can be made to withstand the tq and lift the track up on edge. But letting the track articulate like an ankle joint would probably work better
