- Went down to my local spot for a few herring. I predominantly fish for them on soft plastics off the rocks. Video includes outline of the gear I use, soft plastics and how two techniques to how to use them.

Great work mate. Looks so easy. I’ve only been able to catch herring on bait so far and have tried out metal spinners when they are on the bite so I might try plastics next. Thanks for sharing 🙏 🙏
Give it a crack mate, my go to way to catch them off the rocks, boat or jetty
You make it look so easy. I bet i'd still catch nothing. Good video
Cheers mate! easy to catch with light gear give it a run
@@DangasTackleTips I might try my luck a woodman point tomorrow evening. see if i can get anything
@@danieltodd22 awesome mate! I have never tried those plastics will have to give them a shot
@@DangasTackleTips I used them because they were the smallest white bait fish profile I could find. They worked pretty good but did get a few tails bitten straight off so not as tough as a zmans
thanks bud!
caught 10+ herring in 40 mins using these tips legend. only thing is, when I set the hook too hard the fish come flying out of the water straight at me, but if I dont set the hook they shake it pretty easy. Any tips?
Nice work mate! It is always a bit of a hard one, i tend to have a light drag and aim my rod as low as i can so they dont jump out. Also if you can find lighter gauge jigheads (thinner hook) seems to help a little but will always lose a few 👍
Hey Danga is that north mole cobber!
Hey barra further north of the river mate, I have caught herring this way at north mole and freo sailing club if you live up that way though
Hey mate how far did you cast out? Just curious because you were using light line
This was a while ago but probs only about 20m or so mate. Just want to cast around the burley 👍👍
What size of Zman did you use?
2.5 inch mate, if they are a small school can chop 5-10mm off the head of the plastic to make is smaller
You are using #2 jigheads, is that #2L or #2H wire?. Cheers
I cant remember what i was using but L wire would be better
Is that the 6'6 or 7' veritas? Thanks
6.6 mate 1-3kg 👍
Thanks heaps for that. Do they cast well?
@@stevenlord7129 Good casting for light lures mate
