I don’t see the appeal of having children so darn early. I'm re-watching Better Call Saul and I didn't know what jurisprudence was either, but it's a cool word so I looked it up. The word comes from the Latin roots _juris_ , meaning "law," and _prudentia_ , meaning "wisdom/knowledge/skillfullness."
Jurisprudence is the theoretical study of the property of law, or the study of the theory and philosophy of law rather than the study of the actual legal system that uses those laws. It's also known as "legal theory" and it exists to provide a deeper understanding of legal reasoning & analogy, legal systems, legal institutions, and the proper application and role of law in society.

To be fair, depending on where you live, $10/gallon for gas would still be preferable to electric cars. Unfortunately, in many places around the world, there is hardly any infrastructure for electric cars. As in, you could literally drive until your battery dies and not be close enough to a charging station. Electric Cars last no where near long enough my themselves to be sustainable for many places in the U.S. I wish it was the case. I wish electric cars were more viable, but I would rather pay $10/gallon for gas then risk being stranded every time I drive.
Come on people, we need the charging stations, I want to drive electric.
I live in one of those more “conservative” places. Gas prices haven’t reached $10/gallon around here yet, but they still aren’t good.
Another issue with electric cars is their lithium-based batteries, which tend to overheat VERY easily, and replacing the battery is actually more expensive than the car itself. Another issue is that despite having no carbon emissions, the charging stations are powered by electricity that is more often than not, generated by coal. Coal is the exact opposite of clean energy, even though those big mining companies try to tell the public otherwise.
@@The_Professional_Moron yeah exactly, though to be fair, some might argue they prefer large amounts of gas emissions to come from the power plants which exist in their own little habitat of sorts then to have the cars themselves emitting such gas anywhere and everywhere. Plus, if you live in places like Europe which have a lot of green energy sources like Wind, Solar, Nuclear etc, then the amount of emissions from all the cars could theoretically be more than from non-renewable plants.
(I don't much about the matter, so I won't say whether that's legitimate or not, this is just stuff I've heard)
But either way, we can both agree that the primary thing is business and even electric car companies are still trying to get money for being "green" despite the energy they get in most places being the exact opposite.
Tesla can litterally be charged at ANY electric outlet. This alone fact makes the whole argument against infrastructure invalid. Second is tesla litterally builds infractures all around the world and won't charge a single buck for tesla owners
@@cerjmedia You know, it would be great if there was a clean, efficient power source that we could use instead of coal! Too bad we can't, I don't know, split an atom and gain energy from that...but this is the USA, so we can't have nice things.

0:06 Bank accounts are great when you're immortal. Also, butcher shops love workers that mysteriously expell the excess blood and quite literally don't tire for years at a time. That wage goes nearly straight to savings with compound interest, "why of course I'm pale, officer, I work all day in the butcher's shop" and most vampire hunters aren't prepared for being crushed by a cow carcass and then efficiently butchered. Wait a few decades for the savings' interest to start matching your salary, perhaps make your way up the ranks with an untiring work ethic, and before you know it, 200 years later you're the owner of a controlling share of the butchering company, and living lavishly in a victorian mansion right as they're coming into style, with the funds for that mansion coming in annually from interest, and gradually increasing.
"why no, this is my father's mansion. Yes, we get that a lot."
8:47 "if you ignore the bad parts, it's really good!" Is not a good argument
Especially when you can invert the argument. You could make Winston Churchill look like the worst thing ever if you ignore the good parts, and make Hitler look really good by ignoring the many bad things he has done, so as to use two (in)famous men from opposing sides in the second Great War as examples that show two shitty arguments as such.

I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll keep saying it: please don’t let the way a lot of Christians act completely and utterly ruin your perspective of us because a lot of us are genuinely nice, good people. These terrible Christians do not reflect the values or morals of all Christians and their view of the Bible, God, and the religion as a whole is flawed.
There are many things that make up a cult, but one of the common properties of a cult is the belief that everyone else if wrong and stupid, and that everyone who doesn’t act like them is dead/lost/going to die/subhuman/dumb/useless. These “Christians” are not tried and true believers, they use the religion as an excuse to justify how they are NOT in a cult (when they really are) and, in some cases, have brainwashed themselves that they are Christians.
The reason that those fake Christians get away with it is because a lot of them have forgotten that Christianity wasn't meant to be a religion, but a relationship with God. They don't have that relationship, and thus end up acting like assholes.
Amen UvU

5:47 ...A few things, 1. Cars were toys of the ultra wealthy until Ford's new methods streamlined construction but even then those who could actually afford the cars were middle class. This was during a time where a decent chunk of the population (~40%) still farmed and could indeed make better use of 2 horses than a model T. It's also worth noting that the Model T was introduced to market in 1908 and the military still fought WW1 primarily using horse transport for reliability concerns.
2. If you're in support of saving the world with avoiding pollution then an electric car is an absolute horror, comparing the damage that dealing with cars does, the production of electric vehicles produces a debt that would require the car be driven ~500,000 miles before breaking even (that includes pollution from electricity consumption) with standard vehicles (specially considering modern EPA standards and requirements on gas vehicles which don't really exist for Electric vehicles yet because the impact hasn't really been seen). Also you're not saving the planet with electric vehicles, everyone knows using electric devices fundamentally pollutes because of how the energy it uses was produced (typically via coal), you can argue that it's better for the environment because coal plants have stricter regulations on pollution and recapture of pollutants but then you still run into the issue of the initial production of the Electric vehicle and EPA regulations limiting how much gas vehicles can pollute.
3. Electric cars imo are still a fad because the technology just isn't there yet. Battery technology cannot safely store the huge amounts of energy long-term that chemical storage in the form of gas/diesel can. There are some incredibly interesting advancements in battery technology such as solid state hydrogen batteries but these technologies are still emerging and will likely take a decade before they're refined enough to be usable for large-scale production in vehicles. Don't get me wrong, cars were also fads until advancements made it feasible for the transportation of the average individual and it's 100% possible that the popularization of electric vehicles today will pave the way towards technological advancements which will make them far more useful, however until such advancements are made and the availability of wide spread charging stations and standardized, electric vehicles will continue to be a fad.
That take of his regarding electric cars was so trash, and I hope he doesn't try to defend it the next time it comes up. Very disappointed in him on this one.
That bit about "prioritising working hard in your early years so that you can enjoy having a work/family balance later in life" just doesn't work. To me, that sounds like it's saying "prioritise working hard in your early years, so that your children grow up without you in their life and you miss all their special milestones, so that later in life they won't have anything to do with you when you're older and 'have time for them'. Or wait until you're older to start a family when it's much harder for you and your partner to conceive children at all. And don''t worry, I'm sure your partner will stick around and stay completely loyal to you when they never see you because you're working all the time." Like, what kind of choice is that? That's not just "prioritising work over family early in life", that's prioritising work over YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. And I know companies are often going to care more about their own profit than their workers' lives, but trying to disguise that by trying to give life advice is just slimy.
Stop acting deep...You just lazy and crying cause you can't play games and tweet all day.
Just don't have kids and that balance is a lot easier.

The North Vietnamese were pretty much on the losing side of almost every engagement, but they manage to survive long enough to outlast our patience, we decided to leave, and they won by default, since the South Vietnamese couldn't hold them off without our help. (Ironically the American press started pushing the idea the war was unwinnable after the Tet Offensive, even though that was a massive failure for the North.) I guess you can say we lost, but we weren't technically one of the sides in the war (we haven't officially declared war against anyone since 12/8/1941 against Japan).
On the second point, to be fair, there's women who think that about men too. They'd be surprised that there's both men and women who have no desire to have children. For some reason there's still some residual societal expectation that makes a lack of desire for children more of an aberration for women than for men.

We took over an entire half of the world and millions died due to the diseases we brought. And that's focusing more on the issue of American colonization. When the Mongol Empire fell, it didn't leave an entire continent exploited and divided over petty disputes. And at no point does Neil deGrasse Tyson imply *all* of history is based on White European colonialism, he's focusing on one aspect of history and simplifying it.
